    This is the exact spot ERII left London for the last time. From Where her procession on a gun carriage transferred to the hearse and her army saluted her off for the last time The royal family with the field marshal’s, generals, admirals, and air chiefs all stood on that grass to the left for the last salute. It’s a really beautiful part of London and where the 19th century meets the present when the horses are present

    The horses and riders are amazing, just the exposure to horns, humans, cyclists, traffic noise. Horses cannot be forced to endure, it is done thru patience and reassurance.

    @@janebain3402 I am an older woman - and I pick up saddles when I ride three days a week. What do you mean that a woman cannot pick up a saddle? Those of us who are physically fit CAN do it.

    I've ridden through there and then into Hyde Park. So busy , I was on a 17 hands horse with buses and cars all around.

    1:14 love the H Cav regiment riding through the arch in the lovely sunny 😎 weather. Not sure if the troopers would agree with the uniform and breast plates on.

    I ( now 72) grew up in England/London, british/english history is my historie, amd I feel britsh. I have seen parades and the RF most every time all the years, when I see this on YT here, tears roll down my cheeks and I wish I would be there.

    Its a sound I love too. Have done since I was a young kid. I loved the sound of my horses shod hooves was awesome ut there something about these cobblestones in London that makes it even better. Sometimes i fall asleep listening to this sound. 😊

    Our American forces have accomplished much bigger things than the British forces. For example, we helped win World War II. British won the Falkland Islands. LOL.

    Its a saddle foam pad I think. It sits underneath a saddle for extra protection for the horse.

    No, it’s a sheepskin saddle cover for what was once a holster for a pair of pistols. You can see at 9:10 that there is a leather roll strapped over the pommel of the saddle to mimic it.

    If you’re talking about around 6:35 in the video, my guess is they might be newer horses they are training to get accustomed to ceremonial duties. Wearing the saddle and reins, walking in a group along city streets with crowds, motorcycles etc.

    The black cop after about 18 second into video was amazing he had such awareness of everything around him he was made for this INFACT he would make a really good bodyguard, .most coppers stand their the IDIOTS with arms behind their backs and chatting, WELL DONE MATE!🇬🇧👍🇬🇧

    Google Household Cavalry. They are an armoured vehicle unit and have a long and distinguished military role. They are far more than what you see here.

    @@pennylane428 You’re not alone, thus my elevated reaction. Nine out of ten people use it wrongly. I worked for a government agency for 23 years and part of my duties included proofreading all correspondence (retired now) so mistakes just jump off the page at me. Sorry if I seemed over the top but cavalry/Calvary is one of my pet peeves, simply because so many do it. You would not believe how many pastor’s have done the same. 🤭

    Perhaps, if America had paid heed and widely celebrated, nationally, the history of Native Americans you would also show pride. I know NA fight to keep it going and promote it but there is no doubt its not widespread in mainstream America. Such a shame.

    In the U.S. we waste a lot of public money on things we never get to see. At least you have this, where you can see your service members partaking in long-standing tradition. It inspires pride and appreciation in the UK's history, heritage, and service members. I'd take your place in a heartbeat, and live in the UK and sing God Save The King everyday if only I could.

    @@cathynewyork7918 Not all of us are rich enough to suddenly pick up and move. It takes time. I've been working on a path toward moving to the UK for the last 5 years, but it might take me at least another 5 years to do so. However, my point was, if I was able to do it today, I would.
