5 жыл бұрын
@Sponge Bob "Post-1980 draft registration On July 2, 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued Presidential Proclamation 4771 and re-instated the requirement that young men register with the Selective Service System. At that time it was required that all males, born on or after January 1, 1960, register with the Selective Service System. Those now in this category are male U.S. citizens and male immigrant non-citizens between the ages of 18 and 25, who are required to register within 30 days of their 18th birthday even if they are not eligible to join the military. " "The Selective Service registration form states that failure to register is a felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment or a $250,000 fine." "Many men do not register at all, register late, or change addresses without notifying the Selective Service System. Even in the absence of prosecution, however, failure to register may lead to other consequences. Registration is a requirement for employment by the federal government and some states, as well as for receiving some state benefits such as driver's licenses. Refusing to register can also cause a loss of eligibility for federal financial aid for college."

@Sponge Bob The song was recorded in 1987 and released in 1989, it doesn't talk about draft in particular . The song tells the story of a conscientious objector who makes a prison escape: "I got a letter from the government the other day I opened and read it, it said they were suckers They wanted me for their ARMY OR WHATEVER Picture me giving a damn, I said never Here is a land that never gave a damn About a brother like me and myself because they never did I wasn't with it but just that very minute it occurred to me The suckers had authority..."

Its crazy chuck d was a radio dj in the early days and was inspired by the clash to start doing his own thing. He wanted to combine good music with lyrics that made people think just like they and other great punk rock bands did. People have no clue how much 70’s punk rock influenced hip hop.
