With all due respect to the developers - the main reason PUBG became famous and has stayed relevant, is because it's the most boots-on-the-ground realistic pop BR out there. That is their niche, they are not arcade-like as Fortnite is, they're not as run-and-gun ability hack game like Warzone is, they're not as unpredictable movement/navigation as Apex is. PUBG's core is a hardcore battle royale that manages to be accessible enough to not come off as a milsim, but still values tactical and strategic gameplay over arcade run-and-gun mechanics. The devs need to realize this, and play INTO their strengths, rather than turning PUBG into a bad clone of whatever BR is more mainstream famous. The reason PUBG isn't regarded as highly as Fortnite anymore isn't because it's too anti-casual, or too serious. It's simply because it feels like a 7 year old game still to this day. It doesn't feel like the game itself has progressed and improved. There's more content, but not more quality. Quality is all that this game needs, quality of gameplay experience. Not goofy weapon skins and ziplines and lowering the skill floor and dumbing down the gameplay. If someone camps a top floor of a building, good for them! They have occupied a good position, and should be respected. If you don't like "camping", go play Fortnite or Warzone. It's that simple. The most famous game is a guy who "camped" in a bath tub the whole game with no weapons, and won because he got lucky with the zone. It goes to show that this game is about more than just point-and-shoot mechanics. You can't just burst into a house and expect to win a firefight without proper tactical planning. You can't just fly in through a window with some goofy zipline mechanic and basically negate any positional advantage another player had the foresight to make use of before you did. If you're in a bad position, the game should demand that you disengage and find a better opportunity later - rather than giving you an option to force a play that never would have happened naturally. What PUBG 2.0 needs: - Better graphics, MUCH better graphics. - Less spaghetti code, there's no need for a game to look this bad and not perform to a high standard either - More map interactivity, such as destructibles or other non-direct combat related world mechanics - Keep the gunplay sober and methodical, and fairly punishing for run-and-gunners - No absurd gameplay mechanics that make the experience more arcade than it currently is - Weather and effects that allow for much greater immersion - Better character sounds (Tarkov is a good example, maybe to the extreme degree but a fine marker to aim towards) - Improve the interaction with the circle (big blue electrostatic field is pretty outdated in terms of concept, but the general core idea is still relevant and should be kept) - More random map events than just drops, this area of gameplay can benefit from some variety - Allow for player-customizable outfits (paint your own camo on the clothing items you own, paint your own weapon skins in simple spraypaint ways, etc) Oh yea also Bots ABSOLUTELY need to go, at least from the main gamemode. It should be an opt-in thing if you want to join a bot-based lobby. I am not touching PUBG if I am not playing vs real players. It's the main reason I am never going back to PUBG currently despite having put over 1500 hours into it up until 2020. The only place I could see bots being used in PUBG, would be in static map-based objectives like defending a military compound or something - but not as a part of the actual battle royale. Bots in the BR experience do literally nothing good for this game. They are a total detriment to everything, and only absolutely new 0-hour players will ever "benefit" from playing vs bots to ease their entry transition into the game. Bots NEED TO GO.

This is why i play arma 3 its a old game but you can't be a super hero and running full speed and jumping around mowing people down. pubg is to arcade now even make it more of a simulator people will feel more adsorbed in the match.

@@sean.d7171 Yes, the key is to make actions feel impactful and calculated without feeling clunky. That's literally the golden formula. The problem is, most games don't know how to make it not clunky, without also making every game mechanic feel arcade-ish and overly unrealistic.

@@duran1590 It doesn't have to be a pre-lobby selection like in CS. It could be like the old COD style where you load into a lobby first, and when you're in the lobby there's a random selection of 2-3 maps and every player can vote on what map they wanna play. The map with most votes is then selected. This way you don't split the community, but you also ensure that majority consensus is respected, and devs can get some data on which maps are more/less popular and look into potential reworks etc if they receive a very low pickrate.

My biggest prob with pubg always was visibility bcs of the bad antialiasing and weird contrast. can't even explain, but it just looked super ugly. i just love clean graphics for competitive shooters just like in cs or finals.

I haven’t played this game in a year or 2 and when I played it it’s such a fun and suspenseful game and I am happy to see there still going on with this game

After 6000 hours of this game, there is one core issue to why I don't play anymore. As you reading this can guess, yes. It is cheaters. According to the statements and info pubg provide it looks like it's getting better but ingame it feels like the complete opposite, atleast in high level ranked eu fpp. What annoys me the most is that the top 500 leaderboards usually have the same players in the top who are blatant cheaters who barely even try to hide it. For me who like to compete at that level it just takes all of the fun away for me to see people go unpunished when blatantly cheating. Sorry for the kind of inconclusive ramble but yeah TLDR: It doesn't matter what updates they do to the game if they can't ban *blatant* cheaters who end up top 500 (some even top 10) every season.

I often say that cheating is a never ending fight and that there's really only so much you can do ... but I completely understand your frustrations, if PUBG was truly active/paying attention, that would know to at least check all the players on the top leaderboards, as a starting point to find high level cheaters. That is disappointing - but unfortunately, that is the gaming landscape these days.

as for me, the reason the game stood out from others was proximity chat where you could talk to 100 people if you wanted to, and it created fun experiences.

I would love Improved melee combat

I hope the mobile port gets the same redo as well. The current version struggles with multiple players close by even on latest flagships.. the engine just can’t keep up.

When the game will be optimised ? People with high end PCs are struggling with fps drops. I'm playin so many new games on 144fps lock, on pubg always some "fps drop" problems. I tried with vertical snyc and dx12, and thats FOR ME working i can say good, but still not what i want..

I feel like I hear this from a lot of players -- I'll say, there's a decent amount of tactical gear options already in the game (I would like to see more camo options, urban, winter, etc.) and unfortunately, those skins don't sell as well. Thanks for watching!

I have 1500 hours in the game and besides micro transaction stuff (that I won't get unless it's actually good), I have almost no camo or tactical gear, besides a pair of camo pants and combat boots.. On the other hand I have 50 grey t-shirts and schoolboy shoes, and some neon pink getup. There's 10x more whacky stuff in the game, than actual mil stuff.

Would this include console as well

Their moderation for anti cheat is really only enforced strongly on PC. Console moderation is lacking. It doesn’t mean that they’re not doing anything, but it pales in comparison to our PC counterparts.

It does not matter what is the engine just ban all cheater this is the real revolution !!

Cheaters are an issue in every online game - it's a never ending battle. That's like saying, solve all crime.

I’m glad this is happening but when will pubg address the absolute robbery of their store system ? It costs so much money to upgrade a gun or just get the loot boxes they give out every season along side a new token

Unreal 5 is same as Unreal 4 from every side, + Unreal 5 has lots of bugs and not stable if compared to Unreal 4. They should switch to UE3
