PUB EGGS | Super EASY Shelf-Stable Pickling Recipe
Come along with me on another experiment in shelf-stable egg preservation! Today we're going to make pickled eggs, but not the kind you need to keep in your refrigerator. These should be totally shelf stable and can sit right out on your counter, or in your pantry. I'll post a follow-up video in a couple of weeks when they're ready ♥ - Rachel

A few have asked about the Pickle Pebble. We got ours in this kit
My Mom always kept a gallon jar of pickled eggs sitting on the counter. She never refrigerated hers. I grew up eating them. Delicious!
Over time the strong vinegar will eat the lids that come with the jars, either put wax paper to protect the lid or use the plastic lids
Why didn’t you use surgical gloves , then you wouldn’t have to worry about your hands .
Hands down the best pickled recipe is from KZread channel Living Traditions Homestead. Try their spicy pickled eggs recipe! So delicious! Plus makes great egg salad!
i use my hands and i dont use a "pickle pebble"
I like the beet pickled eggs. Unfortunately I can't eat high fructose corn syrup. I have lupus and it triggers skin outbreaks. I make them with plain beets which introduces water and reduces the acid needed for shelf stable. I am single and retired so I just make them in quarts but refrigerate. They are stable that way, with 100% organic cane sugar and a two to one ratio of vinegar to beet juice or water. Also apple cider vinegar adds another depth of flavor. Just a tip for other folks like me.
I learned this trick from an old timer. Just crack the wide end of the egg with the back of a spoon and place in water boil 10 minutes. The shell slides right off!
You are funny... don't touch the eggs, but then you stick your fingers in the whole jar LOL.
So you use tongs to put the eggs in, then proceed to stick your fingers in it anyways. Umm, what?
I'm 71 and never been able to peel eggs. I have those silicone things you crack the egg in and boil it. It isn't pretty but it plops out easy.
My Dad used to love pickled eggs. Miss him. Thanks for the rush of wonderful memories Rachael.
My fave kinda of eggs! I pickle them with apple cider vinegar, pickling spice, celery seeds and salt... These and pickled onions with a pint of dark beer... Heaven!! Love 💖
Those eggs looked so good. My mom used to make them for my dad's neighborhood bar. I think she heated the vinegar. She would add a little beet juice for color, hot pep ppl or and garlic clove or two. I've made them before and enjoyed having them available for a quick snack. I'll be watching to see how they are in 3 weeks.
Can’t wait to try! I’ve been saving all my big pickle jars for this.
My instant pot is my best friend for boiled eggs. My Mom made this for the local bar when I was a kid about 50 years ago. We used a large can of pickled jalapenos and top it off with vinegar. They might last 2 days at most. Can't wait to see how yours turn out. TFS 👍
cant wait to see how this turns out! We were not a fan of canning them, it made the eggs really rubbery. Interested in how long these can last too
Once we started using our Instapot to hard boiled egg we have never looked back! They peel so beautifully every. single. time. Looking forward to how your eggs turn out. I like to put eggs in leftover cowboy candy brine or dilly bean brine and leave them in the refrigerator. Delicious!
Thank you for posting this. My Dad use to do this . Such a nostalgic thing for me. Can’t wait to try this
I think I'm going to try this this weekend!!! Thanks for the inspiration!! Have a super weekend 😊
