I have a confession to make about our Pakistani artists. I had some opportunities to attend private presentations by a few iconic singers in Canada in 1970s. I being a great admirer of these singers felt that I wish I hadn’t personally attended their performances. So much hollowness, so much inter jealousy so much dark side. And when they appear in public together so much hypocrisy.

Although mehdi saheb was a great singer,he had his contradictions.in an interview given to a paper, he had revealed his prejudices against the leading female singers of his time by saying that they all came from red light areas
