Pt 2. can we save this 200$ Mercedes for 300$. 2003 E320 transmission removal step by step process.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

2003 Mercedes E320 transmission removal. 722.6 transmission. my buddy picked up this vehicle for 200 dollars. transmission fluid was leaking all over the place underneath and was having a hard time engaging. So, we took a gamble and this either ends up a 200-dollar paper weight or a come up. go check out part 1 of this video on my channel to see the repairs we did there.

thanks bud makes me happy to hear! Make sure to subscribe and hit that bell, I have a lot more coming on various Mercedes chassis. I like to show as much of the process as possible to help the DIYer who's doing it at home. I know I always wished there was videos like this, so I figured what the hell, I'll make them. 💯

Hi there - a great pair of videos - Thanks very much! Howabout part 3 - The Fix? I am in the process of removal/install with a replacement (2nd hand) gearbox on my C class 220 CDi Coupe (4 pot diesel) as the dreaded ‘Strawberry Milkshake of DEATH’ happened to my original box when the oil cooler (in the radiator) failed and mixed the transmission fluid with the coolant which destroyed all the clutches in the gearbox. The clutches have their friction material glued to the steel plates with a water-based adhesive which basically makes them dissolve when you get water in there! Not to mention the many, many engine flushes to remove all the pink nastiness & then a new radiator……. I also serviced the replacement with a total drain, a new contactor plate & all new oil/filter. Very little wear apparent if the old oil (a brownish colour but still smooth with almost no deposits in sump pan) is to be believed. Anyway, I was going to comment on getting to the top bolts - I found that if the propshaft & exhaust were removed (I just took off the front exhaust clamp and pushed the exhaust over to the side) as well as lowering the transmission rear down (until the engine sump was just touching the front crossmember) gives a very good view (with my head up into the transmission tunnel) of the upper 5 ‘invisible’ bolts. With many socket extensions onto the ratchet handle, it is possible to crack them loose and off quite easily. I also added/glued a small magnet inside the socket so the bolts could be withdrawn along with the extensions. Happy days!

just posted the final video a few minutes ago my man, I'm glad you like the videos! yea man I had the milkshake in my 99 c43 AMG from the tranny cooler failing internally but I now have an external one that does not run through the radiator. nice tips and tricks you got there! I might have to use some of them!

I’m doing a swap on my 03 c230 kompressor because changed the conductor and fluid and filter but it only acts half way right on cold start then after you park won’t move at all. Giving a P2502 code gear implausible and slipping. So I found a use one I’m going to swap in. Will I need to program it are can I just do the relearn process and it be good. I am going to replace the conductor in the used one just to be safe before instal.

This was good to watch, smoking a joint and drinking tea. Wondering about those tires placed nicely in front of a car they don’t fit lol. Since you got the aftermarket dipstick, does it work on that E, and the ML. If so, what’s the specs on the stick lol, so I can make one for my ML, I’d imagine the pan hasn’t changed across the classes.

I don’t personally know much about that model but I would figure out how the transmission cools its fluid and figure out if there is a leak where fluid can get into the cooling system, example: my black c43 had an internal leak in the tranny cooler and coolant was getting pumped into the transmission
