Thank you for a VERY informative video! you just saved a very nice 95 E-320 from becoming junk yard fodder. I had been told it was going to cost way more than the car is worth to fix it and was contemplating selling it for scrap. Your video confirmed what I suspected that it is much easier to fix than I was told. The only issue I had was reverse didn't work when it got up to temp. i recently tried to move it after it had sat for four months only to find the battery completely dead. After charging it, I found reverse worked just fine. That leads me to believe I have an electronic issue, not a mechanical one. Your video has pointed me in the direction I need to go, and it's a whole lot cheaper than what my local [100 miles away] Mercedes dealer wanted! I drove it yesterday and reverse worked even after getting fully warmed up. Now I'll spend the money for parts and take the time to fix it up and enjoy it more. After all, even AFTER spending the money for the parts I won't have two grand in it.

@@robertpsotka3525 I know it's not EXACTLY the same, but it is the same series. The basic components are the same, just some of the electronics are different. Any way you look at it, it's still repairable for a whole lot less than what I would have to pay a Mercedes dealer.

So ive got a brabus d6 version of this car. Looks like the ev12 but its a om648 nice looking thing. I bought it as id had a w211 some years ago and truly missed it. I bought it with a transmission fault and me and my friend had a garage like yours and it was sat at the back ready to get done but 3 weeks my friend passed away and so lost the garage as couldn't afford it on my own so now the car is sat in a car park and im going to try to swap the transmission outside in a car park. I barely have any tools left either as most thngs have gone too so wish me luck man as its pretty cold in the uk and hopefully a different transmission will sort out my problem 😂 great video by the way. Very easy to watch and listen to. Thank you

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend 🙏, what kind of issues what your transmission having, did you try to replace the conductor plate? That fixes usually most issues with the 722.6 transmission but you have to also clear the transmission codes otherwise the vehicle won’t know that you did the repairs . @donroni408 it's had a new conductor plate but don't know if it was cleared. I got it up in the air yesterday and its been leaking ATF from the front corner plug. I know it's pretty common but i dropped oil and only 3 litres came out so I think it ran low possibly causing it to not work. It selects gears but won't move. Whilst in gear it will only rev to 2k but revs fine in P and N. Going to take a look tomorrow as I've got another transmission in the boot. And thank you 😊

You might also want to take a look at the TCM it’s behind the carpet at the front passenger footwell. When it leaks at the connector it will make its way through the wires in pump fluid into the TCM, I had that happen on two cars that I bought. But I would forsure scan the transmission with a scanner that can access the transmission codes, I replaced a conductor plate once and the issue wasn’t fixed until I cleared the codes and then it ran fine . Let me know what happens

@donroni408 dude, that 7mm bolt just keeps spinning. I had to eject from this project car of mine for the day. I got about 13" maybe 14" of clearance from the garage floor and the bottom of the car. Safe to say tools have come out flying from underneath this car 😆.

@@Steve-sq4qn it doesn’t come all the way out. It’s stays with the connector sleeve. Now pull the sleeve out with some pliers

Thank you glad you enjoyed it. You don’t have to code anything you just have to be able to access the transmission control module with a scanner and clear any codes that were set beforehand. If you don’t clear the codes you will still have the same issues like you did not replace the conductor plate

Thanks for the video. You definitely know what you’re doing. It looks like you service MB. I have an 09 GL450 with rattling noise when accelerating from stop. No leaks, no check engine transmission fault codes, idles and shifts fine. I had transmission fluid and filter changed a couple years back. Is a bad torque converter the issue or can it be something else or additional to torque converter? Your expertise is greatly appreciated.

Hey bud. Glad you like the video. Does your vehicle make the rattling noise with the car in drive but stopped with your foot on the brake ?

@@donroni408 It only makes the noise when on the throttle. Especially from standing start. No noises at idle or on brake. We are very gentle with the throttle now. Once it gets to speed drives fine. I do notice a little bit of slippage or it may be because we are so gentle and do not floor the throttle. Again it shifts smoothly. My Indy shop won’t do the diagnostic because they don’t perform transmission service. But based on what I told them they suspect torque converter. Thanks for any insight you can offer.

@@zhaidalian5845 without really hearing the noise. id almost be willing to say its not an engine or trans internal problem, maybe something is just loose and when you're on the throttle it starts rattling, maybe more so with worn out engine mounts. I had my engine mounts fail after like 3 years so badly that during wide open throttle it would flex so much that it was trying to pull my shifter in neutral in my white 1998 c43 amg. its hard to say without really seeing it and hearing it

@@donroni408 interesting. At first I thought something was loose too. But the noise like a popping sound too. If the mounts were worn wouldn’t there be noticeable vibration at idle and at speed? Which I don’t seem to have. My son’s 528i xdrive had a worn mounts and the vibration was really noticeable…the dashboard was literally shaking and you would hear a thud going over speed bumps. Anyway, can I send you a video tomorrow afternoon? I can definitely duplicate the sound as I go up the driveway (incline) into the garage. I always have to throttle gingerly to avoid making the noise. The throttle is so sensitive now that any overly slight pressure will cause the noise.

Aultel 906s says all target gears fine but in the line above says all gears neutral except for park?

@@donroni408 2011 Dodge Pursuit Charger. "Solenoid valve 1-2/4-5" keeps jumping back and forth from "set" to "not set" during live data. No active dtc. Our other Chargers don't do that. Coductor plate service?

Yea, I’ve had to go in and clean the TCM before on different cars that have been leaking for so long. So far haven’t had a tcm fail

Scan for codes. But I would replace the conductor plate and clear transmission codes if the conductor plate has never been changed

Hello i found a 1980 380 se in showroom cond for $400 but it had a fuel leak and engine fire. It melted some plastic and some wires. How hard would it be to put a om603 motor in it and make everything work. I have a 1987 300d with 40k miles that was hit in the rear i can use as a donor car. Do you have any advice or suggestion on the swap. It is far too mice of a car to part out. The body and paint is flawless and interior is pristine. All my friends are saying put a l.s motor in it but just refuse to disgrace this car with a L.S MOTOR. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and videos.

I'm sorry buddy but I have never pulled an engine on one of those. I feel you on not wanting to LS swap it. I respect all builds but it would be kind of hard for me to throw an LS in one of my benzes Haha. I don't think I could live with myself if I did haha

@@donroni408 my only concern would be the cluster working properly. I'm a perfectionist so everything has to be perfect. Done many older gas swaps but never diesel. And yea I couldn't put an ls in a benz. That is unholy. But I am happy putting a benz motor in another vehicle such as a volvo wagon.
