Winch installed and works great. Your instructions completely cleared up my installation questions. The instructions that came with the winch were horrible. Mounted the winch after work one night, and ran the electrical the next night after work. I used your electrical box idea to house the circuit breakers, nice install. All that I have left to do now that I know it's all working is to get some connectors and shorten up all the cable/wires. Thanks for an excellent instructional video.

I just bought a ZXR5000 winch to install on my 2019 low hours Gator that I just got. This video was the most helpful, by far, of all the ones that I watched. Looking forward to completing my install, and hoping that it is as clean as this!

Answered my question: what the hell do I do with all this bare metal (breaker) on the positive wire?! I can see where that setup outta the box could get somebody into some trouble. Usually harbor freight does better in the CYA department on their products and instructions. Great video, thanks!

I am not a mechanic but think after viewing your video, I will give it a try. What brand of winch and mounting plate would you suggest I buy? Thank you.

why do you need a solenoid, why cant you just run a + and - wire from battery to the on off switch for the winch and then run a + and - wire from the switch to the winch.

  • @jasonmorehouse3756

the switch won't handle the high amprage so you use a soloniod which operates on low current on the switch side and allows the others side to still handle the high current. no melted switch this way
