This song was a response to an article that came out in Rolling Stone Magazine about Nate after he won over Chance the Rapper for record sales. The author was completely clueless about NF and his fans. This is epic! Lost is a song he did with Hopsin on the Mixtape. It was supposed to be the next song released but then CoVid hit and threw things off. So he released the Mixtape instead of the album he was working on. #NF

Lost is the name of one of the next tracks in the clouds mixtape. I don’t remember if that’s exactly what it meant in the song but it could be.

Yeahhhh...Tom! That entrance to this song was so awesome! It shook the whole place. I screamed when he flew up out of there and landed perfectly right on that beat. Me and my grandsons were hopping around going crazy. It was soooo good. I am so happy that I went to his concert. It was by far better than I ever thought it could be. We drove from Moline, Il. to St. Louis, Mo (almost a 5 hour drive) to see him. It was so worth it! We just made a weekend out of it and had so much fun. My fiance', who is pure classic and present country and classic rock) even liked it. He was surprised that he liked a rap concert. He generally hates rap. I can't say enough great stuff about NF. Yes! More NF! This is in response to the Rolling Stones article written about NF right after he dropped "The Search" album. They wrote a scathing review about how he is essentially a one trick pony with only depressive music with no talent. So this song is him responding to the critics, telling them, he's "Paid his Dues." His 4th album, "The Search", beat out Chance the Rapper's album release the same week back in July 2019. Most people had no idea who NF was and then he came out of nowhere and got number one on the charts and beat out all of the records for the top spot for the release that week. This is when NF gained the most notoriety in fame of his career thus far. He took off like a storm. I was following him long before this back to 2015, but he became more mainstream at this point. At the end, "Lost" being written on the paper with the Joker smile alludes to an upcoming song that you will see in his "Clouds" mixtape named "Lost" when he collaborates with Hopsin.

NF drops enough Easter eggs for a city wide egg hunt for the kids Easter weekend. One day I want to hear NF explain the Easter eggs in his songs. I’m sure some are so subtle that only he gets the meaning behind them

The only thing you visually didn't pick up on were the different outfits he's wearing throughout the song: the 'beanie' outfit is his new one, the cap with the open hoodie and the Timberlands is from Perception, the baloons and the white outfit, of course, are from The Search - which is the album he throws in the toilet (and then gets back) - and when he says 'I need some room' and the lockers open up, you get past versions of himself, including the tie and black vest, which he also mentioned in No Name, which is the same outfit he had on the cover of his 'I'm Free' EP when his stage name was still Nathan Feuerstein. My interpretation of this has always been that since the song is 'Paid my Dues', he's brought on all his history as evidence of what he's been through and accomplished, in order to shut those harsh and clueless critics. If the fake smile is faded it may be because of the same reason in Leave Me Alone, at the last scene Nate wanted it to be repainted to fully get the smile and a thicker color but they didn’t have any face paint nearby… I know this because I got to be in the music video, My profile picture is a couple of screenshots of such moments ❤️‍🔥 …. The along the journey part on the pfp is an old Instagram of mine that I no longer have access to.

I love the part where he bench presses his burdens, he's always so creative with the references and symbolism. There's a song called Narcissista by my favorite rock band, The Warning, from Mexico that reminds me of the subject matter of this song. It was the first song they wrote in their first language cuz they usually write in English, but they were firing back at critics in the Mexican media for calling them "malinchistas" ,or traitors to their culture, who were selling out by making songs in English. They are a fantastic band that talks about a lot of relevant issues going on in our society. Great reaction as always!

He initially threw The Search in the toilet near the beginning because of how people were trashing it, it’s a double entendre, then it comes back up because all along he knew it wasn’t trash. Also the part where he’s in the locker room and several different versions of him make an appearance, those are past versions of him, how he used to dress during different parts of his journey( older versions of him, Like when he used to where a little tie with a white vest #NoName which Leave Me Alone referenced

It is so true…this is really the best song. I can listen to this on repeat so much and I am just in my car going “whoo, whoo, whoo” haha! Ugh, such a hype song for me.

Lost was the first song he dropped on the mixtape, the ending was a teaser for that song and the mixtape.

His intros are crazy, at the concert he was behind a giant sheet the fell from the ceiling

Hi Tom, today was a bad day! Huge wake up call for me, I've been really stressed, angry & down lately and I'm not sure why, so this evening i overhead my partner telling my 2 oldest children that she's sorry about the way I'm being and acting lately, now Tom! Let me tell you! It broke me bad, i waited until she was finished then walked in the room and told them how much they all mean to me, told them i am sorry, it's nobody's fault, and I love them with all my heart! I'm going to give myself a week to try get this under control, if that fails then its off to the doctors for me. Thanks for the videos and motivation to try and get better 🥃

I just found you today. Boy oh boy have you opened a can of worms. There are SOOOOO MANY songs to suggest to you and you will find this out...and not only one genre and I will listen to you as long as there is a chance you will do other genres. Your perspective is so interesting. I will say that it would be great to see a reaction on a few more Tom MacDonald videos. Namely, "Church," "Cancer," "Angels," and maybe his duo with Dax called "Propaganda" - most of his other songs are quite political - and those are my favorites - but they probably don't need to be analyzed per se. I don't like rap, hip hop, or anything like that but there are a few select songs I listen to by a couple of artists. Tom MacDonald is much different though. Looking forward to seeing what you dive into.

Well technically eminem just said "an effing" we don't for sure know if it's directly said to NF and even if it is I think it's real stupid. they don't sound alike to me at all. NF is a fan of eminem so it's pretty normal if he got inspired from him but ain't no way he's "copying him". The way they write, the style, the flow (yeah maybe the flow a lil bit in some songs but still) it's all totally different.

EM isn’t saying he sounds like a clone of him now, but of his Recovery album days, which he does. He isn’t saying he intentionally is sounding like him, but that he definitely sounds like he did in that era of his career.
