I remember the atheist movement of the 2010s. I thought I was gonna see Star Trek become real whenever religion died, instead I have lived to see people growing more and more mentally ill and society becoming less morally sound. I regret doing my part to bring that. Jesus please forgive me.

Forget the atheist movement, it is dying, and from its ashes will rise strong anti atheists, which will be the total opposite of atheist religion. Not communists. Not feminists. Not muslims. Not atheists. Strongly against lgbtqwertyp (p stands for pdfilia) and indoctrination of kids with falsehood like men can give birth. And very very pro Christianity. Militant anti atheism.

Even the Federation of Star Trek was still religious, at least by Kirk's time ("We have no need for 'the gods.' We find the one sufficient." - Captain Kirk, "Who Mourns for Adonis"). Granted, probably only because of TV censors, but still, it ironically makes more sense than what the creators would have wanted. That's always been the thing that bothered me about Star Trek, as much as I like it otherwise. The creators thought you could get utopia without faith in anything other than humanity itself.

Consciousness shows that there is more to reality than we understand and it hints at the immaterial. It doesn't really show the existence of God or God's nature. We could easily conceive of a universe that itself is Consciousness. Panpsychism for example.

Every argument, if carried to its ultimate end, is circular because we live in a closed universe. I stopped complaining about the circularity of arguments. Some of my own are often circular. The Bible is the Word of God because the Bible says it is the Word of God. You need to decide (I chose that word carefully) if some element of a circular argument is true which can validate the entire circle of reasoning. Of course, if some element is false, you can discard the entire circle of reasoning.

In fact the difference between you and me would have to be the same difference between your brain now and our brain a nano second in the past, because the tiniest change in your brain equals an entirely new brain and therefore should equate to an entirely new person as different as I am to you. The memory does not phase shift over to you because it isn't about the memory, its about the one who observes the memory. I observe the memory no matter what it is or how it changes and I will observe any memory I receive, I would observe any body I receive, I have never been replaced with a new observer.

@@KevinGeneFeldman if you lose the ability to make any thoughts or emotions and even lose all other form of senses but except visual, it's gonna be like a deep state of meditation . Awareness or consciousness exists but objects like self does not. There is no sense of self. Think of it in this way all your thoughts, emotions, sensory experiences etc.. are all analogous to matter. Then what is conciousness or awareness? Matter has the property to occupy volume no matter whether it is strange matter from neurtron stars or some ice cubes. Consciousness as such is something similar to the property of volume when thoughts, emotions are matter themselves (analogy) It's ridiculous and far fetched to claim that consciousness itself is metaphysically distinct which is akin to claiming volume as a property itself is metaphysically distinct from one object to another. Try looking into open individualism, Advaita Vedanta and non self in Buddhism, if you are a Christian it's time to atleast temporarily remove your metaphysical dogmas and stuff like souls

What I find fascinating is exactly those points on how the mind can’t be measured by the brain. While MRIs can actually provide signs of activity for certain emotions and skills, those things don’t tell us who we are. For, while we may be able to determine someone is a creative, low-stressed, violinist, such qualities don’t define the person. To discover that, the minds must meet in relationship and there appears no equivalent substitute. And, amazingly, God calls us similarly to relationship and He has provided us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It’s not through the brain, but through the mind which feels more real than anything merely measured of the brain. :)

Thank you, David. You have a gift for untangling a nearly incomprehensible dialogue and bringing it to me with clear logic and reason. 😊 So thankful for your videos all these years.

A closed system cannot explain itself inside itself. There has to be an outside reference. Consciousness is more than a material process in the mind. That argument alone might not get us all the way to Christ but it at least shows that atheism is illogical.

In 2017 I went to Strange Loop in St. Louis (it's mostly a tech conference but with some Ted Talk-ish philosophizing mixed in). Adam Savage was there to give a talk. Sitting there, I was enjoying what he was talking about until he slipped into his affinity for New Atheism. No question prompted it-- he just started talking about it. It was at that point that I realized that, while Adam is a brilliant and creative person whose skills I fall well short of, he willingly sets a limit on his cognitive capability when it comes to spiritual matters. He's a Dawkins-light person. It took me a while to return to his YT channel after his talk since his brilliance was and still is quite dimmed to how I used to think of him.

AI just proved that intelligent and consciousness are two separate things.
