I wonder if after watching this video I can answer at least one more question of the MCAT.
Plot twist: The patient actually still meant to say "don't give me any bills".
these videos helped me pass my psychology test

There are three states of mind . They are conscious mind , unconscious mind , preconscious mind . In conscious mind is aware of the right now . memories , thoughts perception and desires . You can't remember with extreme effort and soecialized help . In preconscious mind your thoughts are not actively thinking but can call to mind easily given the right trigger .
I've been struggling to understand this theory thank you so much this lesson helped me so much ❤
wow....Thank you so much
Simple yet brilliant explanation. Thank You so much
I'm gettin soul and flesh in a spiritual aspect....Thank you for this video!
This has always been hard for me to understand. Thank you for your clarity and thorough explanations.:)
its a very nice interpretation of Freud......WOW
ABHISHEK MEEL 16BIT0021 Psychonalytical Theory: Started by Freud, its main focus is on Unconscious, anxiety and sexual and aggression drives. Our whole personality is determined by these two drives. First five years are the most important in development of our whole personality. It talks about Oedipus Complex, Penis Envy etc. Personality composes of Id, Ego and Superego. Id is the original source of psychic energy and believes in immediate ful-fillment of its demand, it knows no reality. Superego is the social morals internalized by the child by Rewards and Punishment. Ego is the executive who controls Id, Superego as per the reality. It is a very large theory. There have been much arguments against it but it has created immense interest in people. Now it is not given too much importance in psychology, more a part of literature.
Really helping me as I study now.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Fabulous presentation Thank you for your precious time
It needs like 30 min of detailed explanation
Excellent!
I love how you explain things.
Great to find psychology in the Khan Academy. I think the seasaw/teeter totter analogy for id at one end and superego at other end trying to be top dog. With the ego standing in the centre trying to balance is more persuasive. Thanks for the talk though; helpful.
PERFECTLY SAID😍 YOU EXPLAINED IT SO WELL❤
Well explained. Thank you
I learned so much from this.....❤❤
Wow, really nice explanation. I enjoyed the way you explained the concept of Id, Ego and Superego. In the video, you said that fixation occurs when libido impulses are either over or under gratified. I want to ask, how can we decide whether libido impulse is over or under gratified? And are these fixations reversible or irreversible? (i.e are fixations curable).
Psychiatry was know as a medical field long before Freud. In Freud’s writings he mentions psychiatric hospitals and their “treatments” which included water therapy etc. His discoveries changed medical diagnosis and treatment of psychopathology since.
I WANTED TO LEARN MOREEE❤❤❤
I think the first explanation with the iceberg wasn't too clear actually, but the later example with the big armed dude gets across
I have learn psychoanalytic theory, it's starting is not more clear but finishing is fantabulous super video, and learn unconscious libido psychosexual, but that ice burg is not clear, thank you for video.
thanks a lot
This psychology information good for me
I love your voice
I really love how explained this. What is the software that you use to draw?

Beautifully explained.
I have never psychoanalyzed anyone. We all know what gaslighting is. We all know what a narcissist is. We're not psychoanalyzing when we point that out.
Was hoping for more detail on the Id, Ego, and Superego, and the interplay involved in there. This was a good overview, but I think for those of us taking the MCAT we're going to need a liiittle bit more out of this topic. This nearly 8 minute video equated to about 2-3 sentences written down.

MANOJ KUMAR 15BEE0013 Psychoanalytic theory -Theory of personality Psychoanalytic theory was given by Sigmund Freud.Frued was not a psychologist, he was a physician more specifically a neurologist and in 1885 he went to Paris to study hypnosis with the fellow neurologists but this experience is actually what turned him towards medical psychopathology in psychiatry as we know it was actually unknown at the time Freud began his work. "The psychoanalytic theory says that our childhood experiences and unconscious desires influence behavior ." The key word for this theory is unconscious ,our personalities have memories beliefs urges drives and instincts that we are not always aware of and that make up this unconscious. The major driving force behind Freud's instinctual theory is a concept of libido.Libido is natural energy source that fuels the mechanisms of the mind and when this libidinal energy is stuck or fixated at various stages of psychosexual development .There's another keyword so when this fixation occurs at the psychosexual development and stages conflicts can occur that have lifelong effects so fixation at a particular stage is what predicts adult personality. For example,if someone fixated at the oral stage which is actually the first stage in psychosexual development might have oral personality characteristics like being overly talkative or having a smoking habit when they grow up. According to Freud's model of the psyche, the id is the primitive and instinctual part of the mind that contains sexual and aggressive drives and hidden memories, the super-ego operates as a moral conscience, and the ego is the realistic part that mediates between the desires of the id and the super-ego. Although each part of the personality comprises unique features, they interact to form a whole, and each part makes a relative contribution to an individual's behavior.

The psychosexual stages is pure garbage but most of the rest of the theory is useful! I’m a psych prof.
Funny that almost everything is correlated, such as physician and some mathematics guys with psychology. Can't imagine if any computer guys stuck, like, "What about an AI's Psyche ...".
