Psalm 90 - The Prayer of Moses in the Wilderness

Psalm 90 is a prayer of Moses when he was in the wilderness. His prayer speaks about finding refuge in the eternal God, God's judgment upon man, and praying in light of who God is and how He deals with man.

First, if it was written by that Moses, why was it not recorded by him in the Pentateuch? Second, the sin of Moses was public not hidden/ secret This doesn’t convince me of this psalm being from that Moses. How so u respond?

Hi there, thanks for writing. There was no reason that this psalm needed to be included in the Pentateuch. When God inspires a man to write, he tells him what and when to write. The Pentateuch is very different from the Psalms. Psalms is a book of songs, and more personal and devotional in many ways. So there was no reason that this Psalm HAD to be included in the Pentateuch. And yes, Moses did sin very publicly, but undoubtedly, he sinned privately, as we all do. Sinful thoughts, sinful intentions, etc. So in Psalm 90, Moses is saying in verse 8... "You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance". It's a confession of the sins of many, and the confession of the human condition, and the sins of Israel. Another consideration, and we don't know for sure, but perhaps Moses wrote this Psalm before his terrible sin of striking the rock. Those are just some thoughts and hopefully they are helpful. Blessings.

Dear Brother, This Psalm 90 is not reflection of Miriam's and Aharon's death, or after striking the rock by him .....does not fit in as my personal analytics: Let us deeply look into His verse in 90.10 please: The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Psalms 90:10 NKJV # So, He is quoting age 70 and 80 here . So in all possibility he made this prayer at the very crux of his 80 years , at the perfect timing where Elohim Adonai - YHWH has effectively called him. Not decades after the age of 80 .

Friend, I’m sorry you believe that. You’re missing out on good teachings, good teachers, and and good translations. In the original extensive introductory notes from the translators of the 1611 KJV, which modern King James Versions don’t have, you’ll find that they recommended the use of other translations to help better understand the meaning of the text. 🙏
