Psalm 86 - Help from the Great God

Psalm 86 is simply a prayer of David. It's a plea for help in his time of trouble. We can’t place it at a specific time in David’s life, because there are too many possible points where this could connect with his general circumstances. This psalm is notable because David uses the Hebrew word Adonai (“Master”) seven times when referring to God.

God’s Word has encouraged me to move on. I find His Word to be true because there’s so many times in my life I faced adversity. There’s no reason I can explain how I overcame my adversity but through grace of Jesus Christ

God been introducing himself to me by scripture thanks to King David words to God on Psalm 86. I have also cry to God and said similar things to him. Like David on Psalm 86. Not knowing that David told God the samethings before me. I broke down in tears when I read his words that I also have cry out to God in my distress. I was able to understand that God is not a monster and his very merciful, loving and forgiving God. When I was catholic I was told that God was a untouchable Supreme being that was out to punish us if we didn't followed the 10 commandments. We out to confess to a priest and recite catholic prayes to tell him we are sorry. People use to make God look like a God that was harsh and strict father who out to punish you and that you won't go to heaven because you didn't followed the commandments. Nobody told me that God love me or how much he care for me. All my life I have been told to be a good person will get you to heaven. Not knowing that is not true until now that Lord Jesus is teaching me the truth about himself and letting me know that he is always with me no matter what That he loves me a lot more than I can ever imagine. Now I am learning that God is not a monster my fear of God about him no longer forgiving me is going away because of David words in Psalm 86. The fact that I no longer have to worry about having to impress God by been good God has taught me that Lord Jesus is the only way without Lord Jesus I can't do anything which I realized now that is true. I can't do nothing without Lord Jesus.

What a great Psalm of the character of God. Looking at Exodus 34 (as you say quoted in v 15) the second half of v7 is difficult to understand. Does God continue punishment to our children? PLEASE explain as v 6 and v7(a) is just so thrilling and the heart of God. Thank you again for your teaching and as you give to us, we respond in prayer for you.

Brother Jesus said you ask for a sign none will be given. Mercy, faith and praise are not signs. Gideon asked for a sign because of his weakness. Signs are for unbelievers not believers. The just shall live by faith.
