So, what happens if you store stuff with a third party like Goat, Comc, PSA, etc, etc and that third party goes bankrupt and gets their assets seized? If they have a giant store house of assets those are gonna get frozen, no? These guys aren’t banks, there’s no FDIC, and even when banks have issues people are SOL for a time (see Silicon Valley Bank.)

Sportscards are the best collectible imo...but few collectors consider supply when they collect initially. Eventually they realize that there was way more than they originally thought and become jaded. I think Sportscards fixed this in the late 90s and 2000's wuth serial numbers. But still lots of Modern cards suffer from huge print runs and for some reason get overbought.🤷

The problem is that Wemby doesn't have real demand, he has hype. His stats were great, but he didn't impact winning so only gamblers were interested in his market

Now they just print the same card but number this one to /99, that to /199, etc but it’s all the same card…

My items will stay under my control...the old school way, but since I'm 75 I'm old...by the way, I chuckled at the word salad used by ebay's Ryan...vision, seamless, fluid, nimble...good gosh!

I’m in San Antonio this weekend.. can’t wait to sell the wembys. If not, I have Dallas to get rid of the rest

Victor Wembanyama is yet another prospect that the hobby has baked 5 titles and 4 MVPs into his card prices. He did pretty well for his rookie season, but I have a feeling if things don't go the way people think it should in these next few years, these prices will start deflating.

The thing about Wembanyama that no one seems to be talking about is that there is not a good track record for a player of his height (7'4") having a long NBA career. I would take a pass on his cards (at least from a long term investment angle).

The company that makes beanie babies is actually a multi billion dollar company and they still make em. See em all the time. But this is definitely worse than the first junk wax era. At least back then Rookies only had 1 rookie card from the few brands. Or just one rookie card and that's it. Now every damn player has hundreds. Some have over a thousand. The lucky charms bullshit parallels are just trash. The numbered cards don't mean anything when every different parallel, color, insert has the same numbered cards. The sticker autos and fake patches thats nothing more than rolls of fabric cut to fit and have nothing to do with real jerseys or the player. These cards are all going to be worth next to nothing in a few years. The same company making line after line of cards is absolutely ridiculous and has a monopoly on the hobby creating whatever dam prices they can and will get away with. People paying thousands of dollars for rookies that haven't done anything blows my mind. Michael Jordan rookie cards are dirt cheap compared to these kids that haven't done anything lol. It's insanity

I hate that they are cutting down on friction. I like friction. Bring back the friction!!!

Been waiting for someone to post this, I’ve been wondering this since Fanatics got the licensing. I figured panini would over print this class coz next years is garbage. I would still buy Wemby but stick to parallels /ssp/sp and #’d cards, where print run is somewhat limited however many variations. I just feel Wemby will win DPOY for the next 10 years with maybe 6-8 MVPs and who knows how many titles, he has that kinda ceiling. I predict he will have multiple quadruple doubles this coming season.
