@@HDCanadianTrainVideos The Maverick and F150 are completely different markets and use cases. Not to mention that a Maverick is about half the cost and twice the gas mileage. The Maverick isn't intended to be a commercial truck. At best, it MIGHT be a shop truck or construction supervisor/salesperson vehicle. The Maverick is a "dad's commuter car". It's for getting to work, running the kids to practice, and Home Depot runs on the weekends. It's not a "towing the cabin cruiser to the lake" vehicle.

Dealerships make their money in parts and service. When they sell proprietary parts, they rarely discount them and the markup is steep. It’s actually outrageous in some cases. Depending on the dealership, management may not even allow discounts

Just had a dealer in Dallas, TX say they are requiring a $1,000 deposit that is non-refundable. I was given a story about how the truck will sit on their lot as it's built to my specs and not their "clientele" if I decided to walk away. This dealer also told me if I were to place on order that my order would sit on their desk until Ford starts "pulling orders" to build. Thank you Long McArthur for all your honest upfront information. This is my first foray into the whole "reserve/order" a vehicle so I wouldn't know any of this without you.

I placed an order for a Maverick with these folks based largely on these videos. They were just as advertised and saved me more run around with local dealers (in another state) who wanted anywhere from $650 - 1000 down and just didn’t make me feel very special. Contacted LM and that same day I had an order for the build I was interested in with 0 down. I have no problem financing through them at least initially for the free shipping to my state. I believe in giving credit where it’s due and the ordering experience with LM was just as expected from these videos. Pretty simple and pleasant experience and now just sitting back and looking forward to my Maverick this fall.

They're all clueless, not informed at all about the Maverick, let alone the process of ordering one. Reminds me of when I was shopping for a Honda Ridgeline and not only had to show the salesman how the tailgate opened two different ways, he didn't know about the hidden ice chest compartment. I would have expected this from a used car dealership, not an actual Honda dealership.

They had a Maverick that was sent to the sales manager to put some miles on it, and they arranged a test drive on it for me so I wouldn’t be ordering something I had never driven. I got mine ordered with a $500 refundable deposit (which I am okay with since it goes toward the cost of the vehicle) for MSRP, and it’s all in writing. I’m happy to get confirmation that they seem to be doing things the correct way. My build date has been bouncing around a bit, but that’s on Ford’s end, not the dealer’s. Customers need to realize that they have power in this scenario too. Right now, the dealer needs you just as much as you need the dealer (in fact maybe even more-so) because they don't have any cars on the lot and basically can only get 1 truck. If you don't show up to make that order, they aren't going to have a truck to sell. You got to hold the line and refuse to be fleeced. Ultimately, the market is going to have to change the way it does business to accommodate the change in environment and there may be a day where manufactures start to sell direct in the near future.

@@ofcbob6391 In Penn, the sales tax is 6% (or 7% if in philadelphia or piitsburg). Doc fees for title, tags, registration typically run around $250. Note most of this is not something the dealer controls unless they try to add on some outrageous "admin fee". For example if you transfer the title and go to a auto tag place you'd typically pay a fee of $250 no matter what. Most of that goes to the state and the auto tag places adds on a admin fee, typically around 10% or so. I just sold two vehicles and that was about the cost to xfer the title, etc for that the buyers had to pay.

Mostly agree with you with the exception of the dealer getting stock in - you can buy what they get in... but you have to be quick! They have one coming in this month and more in September and they will begin to get more in. You will need to get on the waiting list.

I order a ford maverick from Frontier Ford in Santa Cara, CA I went to the dealership today 1-17-2022 to purchase the vehicle. the dealer ship did Not do a markup of MSRP but they included two accessories ZANTEK BASIC $1,679 and ZANTECK INTERIOR $1,659. they said, they spray the interior and exterior all ready with the products and I would have to pay for them if I wanted to buy the truck. of course, I walk out.

Tamiami Ford in Naples, FL charges $7800 over sticker price for Mavericks on lot. If I order a Maverick through them they will charge me an additional $1895 over sticker! Coconut Point Ford SW Florida charges $600 over sticker for Maverick orders you do through them + they require a $1000 non-refundable deposit! Tamiami Ford seemed frustrated with my questions on pricing and gave me cold shoulder almost immediately. *I HOPE FORD RESTRUCTURES AND GETS AWAY FROM DEALERS FOR A MORE TESLA STYLE BUSINESS MODEL*

Wow! I'm in Atlanta and strongly considering getting a Maverick in the next 12 months. This is how you really do marketing and customer service. No BS and just sell your product better than the rest. No markup, no major doc fees, free shípping if financed through the dealership? I think I've found my dealership! I'm sure I could find a dealership more local that could make the same deal, but I may make the effort to buy through this dealership just to reward them for treating their customers right. Definitely saving this video.

Well I did it online through Ford, built it online, forward a copy to the dealer, then the dealer requested a copy of my drivers license to show proof that it is a real customer. Ford has confirmed that I am a customer. I am number one for the dealer first order. I can walk away if the truck is not what I want or can not work out a deal. I do have a nice trade in which should help, I own a 2013 Nissan Frontier SV crew cab with 67K miles as it s only three miles to work. I also have access to the X plan discount.

I didn't do a reservation before I placed an order with a local dealer. I asked them if this was a problem, should I put in a reservation and have them tie the order to the reservation number? They tell me no need to do that; my order will be processed. Should i be concerned or trust them? My experince: Ordered XLT trim, velocity blue, FX4 package, moon roof, full size spare (note; Why is full size spare not part of FX4 package? who would go off-road with only the mini-spare?!), spray-in bedliner, Trifold Tonneau cover. I debated the tow package but decided against it; if I needed to tow 4K, I think a Ranger/F-150 would be better. I liked a few things in the luxury package but most of it (heated seats, etc) would don't cared, so I opted to not do that. There was a $695 acquisition fee that I questioned; turned that was if I were to lease the vehicle. It'll mostly be a cash sale. $500 deposit; not sure if refundable or not. Expecting MSRP pricing; I'll bail if they try to do a dealer markup, tho the quote they gave is for MSRP with the only disclaimer is that pricing from Ford may change (CYA on their part?)

I dont understand how a dealer just ADDS $5k to MSRP. That's not something someone is thinking about when they are on the ordering page. Ford should have something to say about that. The dealer has done nothing to merit a $5k markup when a consumer has done everything on the webpage.

Try the ranger first and see how it fits you. From what I understand, most people find Ford spaces fairly comfortable, even though they seem tight between the center and the door. I don’t think you’ll have an issue with height with the maverick if you find the width comfortable. I don’t really like how Ford ranger and SUVs seats “hug” you in place, but being close to your size I think you’ll fit - as long as you like Ford interiors. You will be towards the top end of the height range I believe.

@@woodwaker1 In this case I think you can buy the first model year for two reasons: 1. The Maverick is based on a lot successful technologies FMC has years of experience developing and implementing; 2. FMC cannot afford to produce a lemon in this segment as it will become highly competive quickly and they want tolead the pack. They cannot do that with a failure. Its the reason I am getting a Maverick for my wife and purchased a Mach E earlier this year. BTW, the Mach E has been nothing but a joy to own and drive - it has seem more mileage than my 2016 Mustang convertible, this summer. Ford has really turned itself around with its engineering and first year releases. Again, with the margins involved and competition coming they need to get it right, and they KNOW this.

Important question. If I make an order, it comes in, and I see it and I want it, but I need a couple days to deal with some things, do I have a few days to make my decision, or once I leave it can be sold to somebody else? I ask because I have a lease ending in April. If my maverick comes too far before that and my dealer doesn’t want to buy me out I would need a couple days to go to the other dealer and ask how to get out of my lease

The boat I tow is light the boat its self only weights 150 lbs, and trailer probably only weights like 800 lbs...maybe. I do some off roading, so that is why I want the Fx4 package. Thanks!
