I was injured in the army not in Vietnam I wasn’t even born yet but when I ended up getting released medically they denied my claim even though I had eye witnesses and reports about it had to go to court judge said this is a waste of my time he was obviously injured while serving and ruled in my favour took about 5-10 minutes the judge was pissed at the VA

I am friends with a Vietnam War veteran. He helps my family and I with projects on our farm. Very intelligent, lots of life experience. I respect him a lot. Very caring person.

In Vietnam today, with regard to fictional recreational creations like this, there's a fun saying among contemporaries about world's major powers: in history, if you won, you dictate the history, but if you lost, then you'd produce fictitious stuff to "rewrite" the past into self-delusional history where you would've won instead. Either way, it's all distortion of what truly happened. This game is no exception.

Glad to see absolutely nothing has changed since the OG cod days. Rough voice acting, same tropes, same set pieces. All redone for a new generations of kids who weren't there when the lore was written.

To anybody that says, “Vietnam won the war” I think we should clarify that this was not a “war” as neither country declared war on one another. It was a conflict. Secondly, Vietnam won 0 major or minor battles and lost all sorts of military capabilities at the end and sustained millions of deaths compared to the 58k of the US. The conflict was diplomatically lost by the US politicians who severely handicapped the military’s ability and initiative to win I.e. Cambodia was harboring the NVA but politicians forbade the US to pursue and neutralize because Johnson had this stupid idea that Cambodia was “neutral” and sparred them. So the NVA towards the end started conducting battles near the border. Nixon fixed this issue but it was too late. The initiative was lost and was a stalemate.

I don't think that's true. Maybe vietcong didn't win any major head to head engaments, but USA lost the guerilla war against Vietcong! Americans simply couldn't defeat Vietnam forces, meanwhile loosing more and more soldiers. And war was becoming less and less popular in the USA, meanwhile no significant progress was being made! So i think it is fair to say that USA lost a war! No offense but do not pretend it didn't! USA failed to make any siginifocant progress against their enemy , failed to achive their aimd , and had to abandon the war! That's a loss. Is it not?

America won the fight but lost the war. Which means that the Vietnamese ultimately broke our will to carry on a war that was not vital to our own survival. Russia ran into the same problem in Afghanistan and is about to run into it again in Ukraine.

Game looks great, it reminds me of battlefields Vietnam version. They never do Vietnam enough.

Yo I know this game reflects some kinds of scenes regarding Vietnamese War during 1960s-1970s. Telling us how terrible the War was, but my friend, the very painful past needed to be forgotten, both Vietnamese and American veterans are friends now except for 3-stripes Southern Vietnamese who live in the U.S :))). However, this game will be banned in Vietnam actually :))

I'm Vietnamese and 58 now, do understand that a game isn't history but about the bottom line. Game investors isn't interested in anything historical in context but the visuals and the market they are trying to make a sale, i.e. primarily US market.

For those saying that wanted to play as Vietnamese against US forces during the war, I suggest playing Arma 3. Theres a new DLC about this war and it had the entire map of Vietnam as its battleground. The scenarios and open-world missions i experienced as a US soldier in this game was like a fcking horror game, landmines, ambushes, snipers and jungle traps. While playing as a Vietnamese feels awesome as youre defending your homeland against technologically superior enemy. The open-world missions made me realized why linear scripted missions were needed in CODS or MoH. Because its terrifying to casual players roleplaying as US forces patrolling only to get ripped apart by machine guns equipped by talking trees.😂

Game developers should give users the freedom to choose between playing as the evil side, which is the American army (colonizers), or the good side, which is the native people, represented by the Vietnamese army, in the game. This observation applies to many games produced by American companies. There are many games that force the user to play as the villain, thinking they are playing as the hero (such as in the war on Iraq ...).

412 Huey's didn't exist in Vietnam. 4 bladed Hueys didn't exist until the 80s and didn't exist in the US Military until the Marines started adopting the Y/Z in 2003.

Done and dusted about 3 years ago…. ✅ While playing I went the wrong way and fell into a ditch that was pitch black, while trying to find a way out, I heard sounds behind me, turned around and saw zombies. I was dang scared 😂…. but made it to the top without dying. Cold war was an amazing game✅

A gem game like this make you reflect: While i agree both sides committed heinous crimes, USA wasn't supposed to be there in the first place and the Vietnamese put a hella of fight when dealing with Alien americans. I know one of the USA premises was to take on one of worst regimes of humankind but it just doesn't feel right to blast innocents without a second thought, it only made the things worst than it was

Bro Squad, Insurgency sandstrorm, and Six days in falluija are all games that take place well after vietnam. The war on terror was another example of useless loss of life but you're upset that Call of Duty decided to make a game about a conflict that happeded half a decade ago. At the end of the day, it's a game for a reason meaning it's not real, if you don't enjoy it, don't play it. Plenty of games have been made on recent conflicts, not a huge deal.

If a soldier joined on the last day of the conflict, at 18 years old, he'd be 67 years old today. Considering they've been making Vietnam war games since the 80s, I think we're good. We'll probably be seeing Ukraine-centric games before the wars even over.

Great looking game but Huey helicopters in Vietnam had two rotor blades not four.

Loved Cold War. Good change from WW2 setting that’s over played.

Of course this game (or mission) is not realistic because if it were similar to real life, it would probably have ended in the first minute.😂
