Great video . Thanks for going into detail along the way . Just a warning though for those who are thinking of doing this to their own controllers . Desoldering and removing ANY components from a circuit board is not as easy as it looks . You need the right gear and there are a lot of variables that come into play . Have your desolderer / soldering iron too hot and you risk burning the traces on the circuit board . Too cold and you risk lifting the traces as you remove the component . Experience is the key . Also , where did you buy that gold trim piece for your Sony repaired controller ? Looks awesome .

to everyone that ever uses the controller tester, all the circularity test does is test whether the stick has a radial or circular calculation and how far off it is from a circle, if it comes out looking like a square shape and is around 20 percent its not broken or worse it just doesn't have a radial calculation witch i would argue is better for fps games anyway but its just preference and weather you think of aiming as up, down, left, right or the angle of the stick multiplied by the distance from the center of the stick. what you want to look out for with the test is when some parts of the stick are inconsistent with the rest of the stick such as having parts of the stick that do not even reach the edge of the circle but the rest of it does. i would say if you were actually trying to gauge how much error is in the stick, i would test the sticks, decide if its supposed to be a square or a circle, if its a circle your average error works as normal where from 0 to the avg error number on screen is your average error but if its a square it would be the average error on screen minus 20 percent. though i allways thought the radial calculations you get on ps4 and 5 controllers are coded in to the firmware of the controller from the factory so it looks like who ever makes these sticks is converting them to square coordinates on the board inside the hall sensors

It's not a a science... U allways do some solder on every soldering point of the Stick, die Heatgun needs something arround 350°C - 380°C more is killer, don't stay on one point with the heat, do circles around the area... use a little bit of flux... be patient... hold the Stick with a pliers or something like that (its helpful to have something to fix the board. do circles around the soldering points and pull carefully(!!!) side to side, to soldering points will begin to shimmer when they have the temperature. it's important to get all soldering points on the temperature, so the stick will easly come out. most important is to clean up the empty eyes completely... after that replace the stick, with a little solder per eyes, that it will have the opotunity to get full contact. Then put the final solder per eye to complete the process... test... it's a little thing of training, on the soldering station dont use a to fine soldering tip, wedge-shaped 2,5 or something like that is a good choice. congratulations...

So I’ve learned that the circularity just shows the movement of the stick and goes red if it goes outside the 100% so not super important. If you move your stick to the furthest edge and it reads 1.0000 that’s 100% so all good. Sticks feel good in game, but more sensitive so gets a bit of getting used to . How are you finding them?

I`ve replace my analog to hall effect, it`s significantly better in my opinion in terms of fluidity on analog movement and press button is easier to press (although it`s loud). First experience replacing the analog using hot gun, it`s save time and easy but indeed need to be careful to do that (which is i don`t know at first) since there tiny smd around it and beware you burn the plastic nearby, you need to cover it with anti-hot tape. Overall, i`m happy my drifted dualsense now normal. Mine by default it`s not centered, you need to calibrate it and also it has jitter but it`s does not disturb the gameplay.

The reason your seeing the square pattern in the gamepad testing site is because new hall effect sticks don't offer any control over the range or circularity. The orange v3 modules you've installed have manual settings on the unit itself for centre point calibration but that's all.. To accurately set the centre point, range and circularity you need to install Jun Zeng's calibration modules. They give you total control over tuning the sticks and the result is working hall effect sticks with greater accuracy than a brand new Dualsense straight out of the box.

Please try it on fortnite, go into creative (practice mode) then into a private lobby on a 1v1 or something. Set deadzones to 6 and 6 which is what a lot of the pro players use and see if you have drift then. I’d be very curious and I bet a lot of other people would too. For me this is an extremely good way to test the amount of drift. Playing on a random game where dead zones either aren’t important or not even a setting isn’t the best way to tell the amount of drift. I’ve had a whole lot of drift issues but I have a controller that I’ve played with for 1-1 and half years with no drift even on 6-6. Then I have one where it’s had a lot of issues where aim have tried to fix for me but it’s not been great and I’m currently sending it back again to get fixed. I hope this makes sense. I know it would be a very important video that I would love to see. Hopefully you think so too and that it’s worth your time and effort.

Hi, no Sony didn’t charge me but my controller was still under warranty. If you watch one of my videos I think the first in the series of trying to fix it I give the details of how to contact Sony and send it if your in the UK. If you’re still struggling let me know and I’ll see if I can find it or probably just Google it.

That’s the idea because there is no carbon wheel that friction wears away. However it is too early to say if they develop any problems but so far so good.

Yellow hall effect with red chip is useless. It has lag on fast movement at up and left direction. See in 15:00 circularity test. When fast movement, it doesn't reach 100%
