3 most common problems for overheating: 1. Dust inside fan cooling fins. 2. Old thermal pads. 3. Old thermal paste. I did all 3 and places extra pads to vram and ram. Use 1mm pads. Works great for me.

You need to deep clean bro.. Use arthic mx4 thermal paste and gelid therml pads.. Now no jet engine noise..

one of the most painful things to encounter:

This happened to me once and I was terrified as balls. Luckily not a serious issue and a 20 minute cleanup task later it didnt happen again

leave it alone for a while also clean it sometimes try fan wind on the ps4 try moving it in a spot with more space

If it overheats, it's probably dust because from the first time you set it there you never moved it and dust piled up.

Replace thermal paste. That does it for about 40% of the older ps4s but thermal pads and faulty fans can be a problem too!

Or u gotta replace the fan or a connection is bad on the motherboard. I cleaned mine well and the fan doesn't spin it might not be dust

Deep clean it 99.999% of the time that’ll fix overheating as it’ll remove any bugs/dust in it. In the off chance that doesn’t work your ps4 has a problem, send it to a repair shop/sony

make sure its a bit elevated because that will help the heatsink

1.trade it in for a ps4pro 2.clean the outside and fan for dust. 3.get it some open space where the back has some breathing air

Honestly I would go for a Slim they're by far the quietest I have a pro and it gets too loud on some titles and dead silent on others

Make sure the fan cable is connected good And replace the old thermal paste with a new one like mx 4 clean the heat sink

I cleaned the hell out of mine on the inside and it was disgusting and it ran for 2 days perfectly fine wasnt even loud and started doing it again

it happened because you turned of your ps4 badly but their is a way to fix it connect the AC power cord

Does the temperature of the room matter? Because where I live it’s cold, like cold cold (and I keep ac/fans on in my home lol) my ps4 never overheated or the fan went loud. Same thing w my ps5 everyone makes jokes like Sony airlines n I’m like 😐 bcuz I never experienced it on any ps
