Best thing to do is wipe it to factory default settings , so sign out of your account and then do what this guy in the video did but instead initialize ps4 , then sign in with your account and download all your games and apps again , most common reason for the error is file corruption EG. Power cuts so you playing then ps4 is turned off while in a game that game now has corrupted file, e.g. not turning off ps4 correctly, so you'll just have to wipe the whole system to get rid of corrupted data, and have to download everything again

people listen: the only way to avoid error ce-34878 is to play OFFLINE !!! - this is Sony's fault and there is nothing you can do beside it ..

To be perfectly honest with you all. All these videos on KZread I've seen on how to fix this error code never fixed the problem for me. Some of the things they point out are true. But, I will tell you this... Your internet and Nat type is not the problem! I will also like to add that your game isn't crashing because it's not fully updated. I played my games without patches for long periods of time without an internet connection when I went out for vacation where there was no Wi-Fi or internet. Trust me, I had this error code since I first plugged in my ps4. 2 years and I was almost about to give up. I did not wanna buy another ps4. But I recently tried out an original idea of mine to fix the problem for good. And it WORKED! I was planning on uploading a video about it. But I wanna leave a comment on here and see if it works for other people too before I do upload a video about it. So here's how to fix it... DELETE ALL YOUR CORRUPTED DATA. Now.. Data can be corrupted even if it doesn't say it is. Like if your game is saving and the ps4 crashes or freezes during your game while it's autosaving or saving.. It becomes corrupted. Like for example, a game such as a dark souls 3, a game that always auto saves... If that crashes or your ps4 shuts down/freezes/you quit the game while in gameplay and not in the main start up menu.. Your game save will become corrupted. What I did, is I deleted all save data from my ps4 from every user on my system. And I mean ALL OF IT. I had to start over on all my games, but hey, would you rather play a game without having to worry about it crashing and actually have fun like you want to or keep your progress and continue to deal with your ps4 crashing problem? If you want to not lose progress. Back up your game saves in a regular basis either on the cloud or a usb drive so if your ps4 freezes you can copy your game saves from there back to your system. Like for dark souls 3, I regularly quit to the main menu so my game saves. Then I close the application, copy my save game to my flash drive. NEVER CLOSE YOUR APPLICATION during an autosave. To be safe, always quit to the main menu within the main game of it's a constant auto save too. Two more things I thought I should mention.... 1. Do not leave your usb flash drive plugged in while gaming because if it crashes or your ps4 freezes/shuts down by itself. That will corrupt your data on your flash drive. I learned that the hard way 2. If the error continues to occur and you made sure there's no corrupted data. Then it's your application that's corrupted. THAT'S WHEN YOU HAVE TO DELETE IT THEN REINSTALL IT. But however, my applications on my get corrupted if my ps4 shuts down by itself giving me the system software error code after I boot it back up. But that has to happen to be about 3-5 times when I'm playing a game for my application to get corrupted. Do not stress over re updating games as I've said before, your game doesn't have to be updated to avoid this error. Unless of course the game developers of those games aren't doing what they should do before releasing their game into the market. If you all have any questions... Feel free to reply to this comment, if this solution worked for you, please let me know as soon as possible. I want to help as many people as possible because this error has been occurring too long for so many people.

It's possible your application is corrupted or your system software is. Doing a full initialization should do the trick. Did you delete every game save from all your users on your ps4 like I said you should do?

Delete your application and re update it if you've deleted all your application save data across all users on the console. It could be the disc itself though. Like uncharted 4 doesn't work properly anymore for me ever since I had the disc in while it's updating in rest mode and I had a power outage in my house. Have you disc layer get peeled off and it should be as good as new. blu ray discs are multi layered and hard to damage it to the point it's unplayable unless you intentionally damage it. I never bothered to go get my discs current layer peeled off. But I'm absolutely sure you can go to someone who will do it! My friend had that problem and all he did was go to GameStop and his game was working fine then.

Also bones. Just start the game without connecting to internet and updating it. Play a quick match then make sure you quit the game in the main menu while it's not on autosave otherwise that save will get corrupted even if it says it isn't. Please tell me you deleted all your save data on every user of your ps4. If not. No wonder why it's crashing.

Well do you have stuff running in the background while you download or update your games? If a game crashes, ps 4 shuts off, or a state software error occurs during a download... That'll corrupt the game. Applications can be corrupted too. So not go on Netflix or KZread while you download a game! It is very likely your game will be corrupted. I let my games update and download in rest mode when no applications are running so I don't have problems.

Happens on my ps4 pro, a lot on fortnite.

You don't have to delete and reload the entire game. I think it's a game save issue. Instead clicking continue, you can click mission select if you're playing Titanfall 2. You'll lose some progress but not much. Or, if you have PSPlus and you have current saves in your online saves, you can transfer those into your system storage. That fixes it. This problem is caused by shutting down your system without properly exiting out of the game. Games that have checkpoint auto saves can get corrupted game save data if you shut off at the wrong time.

I literally just got 4 error codes in a row in less than 10 min ima try this cuz this happens to any online game I can’t even play the game it gmt I get an error everyday more than one

Man after the 6.0 update I get this error code for every single game! I have tried all these steps with no luck. And now my system randomly shuts off. Happened twice now after the update!!! I feel like the update completely bricked my console! The only apps that work are netflix and Hulu.

I haven't even had my PS4 plugged in for months and I set it all back up again to play Fifa 19. And it literally won't let me play career mode (which is the only thing I wanted to play) because as soon as I click on it the game freezes and it takes me to the error screen. So, I started playing ultimate team instead and now every time I open a pack, it does the same thing. It only freezes when doing certain things and I don't know to end this other than by killing myself.

Sucks to grind madden only to have the last challenge pop this error every time I try to play it, man this is annoying 😤

Upload your saved games to the cloud, delete the ones from your hard drive. Then, reinstall the game and get your saved files back from the cloud. I did this and it worked. I hope it helps, I was having this error with RDR2 as well.

PS4 is just one buggy console to begin with where you are always prone to error codes regarding application crash, software update and for some even error issues arise regarding downloading updates apps, connecting to the internet and so on. The worst thing is their technical support department do not even have any clear suggestion for resolving these issues and dont even care about it as long as they are making money. Error CE 34878-0 is nothing new to thousands of old PS4 users. Just go to any PS4 forum thread, you will see thousands of complains regarding this error. I believe the software update error just recently became popular among many. Come on Sony, we pay you every year not to give us headaches with troublesome system software issues.

Well i figured it out it has something to do with hard drive when i was playing fortnite sezon 8 my HDD was making wierd noise a few Time error appeared (system data crash) So i changed HDD to ssd and nowe it works fine hope it helps :) Just listen ur HDD when u start fortnite

I'm getting this problem now EVERYTIME I play Fortnight now, didn't happen once before season 5. it happens at the exact same time, in the menu where I have to choose between STW and Battle Royale (happens like 5 seconds after I click BR) is this happening to anyone else? I've deleted the game completely, everything is up to date. any suggestions?

What if you try to get ps plus but it says error occurred..What do u do??

@@Maggi5D SAME nfs heat! Dix you delete it and re install it? Do you lose progress if u delete it? Also where do you crash in the game?

Getting error ce-34878-0 in rick and morty on PSVR everything seems to run ok. Except when i pull the lever for the microverse (which you need to do to progress through the game) The game crashes.

Someone help me please! I’ll be in a party and playing then it will just say no longer in party due to network and I lose connection to the game

I played just cause 3 and every time when i want to start the second mission it goes to blue screen error

@Realdeal Steelo this is what I did,in october TWO years with xbox one s,and not a single error. Im a big ps lover,got 1,2,3 and broken 4 cos this error with me is in every game and apps,like yt,internet browser...now im first time own xbox and cant be more happy.

What background are you using?

Help!! I purchased ghost recon breakpoint on disk and when reloading saved data I got this error code. I deleted it, reinstalled it. Backed up and restored ps4 Initialized ps4 No difference... I purchased this game on the ps store. No differmeve. Any ideas???

Problem solved. Take it to the shooting range, then get a new one. ☝️
