I have this problem too and its 2024. 8002f14e error code because sony bricked me

I can't get the write protection off of my hdd ps3 drive. I tried ease tool and partition on windows. No luck. I even tried cmd prompt to format my ps3 80gb hdd. I am getting the boot loop on installing system update each time I restart my ps3.

Hold down the Windows key and press R to open the Run window. When the dialog box opens asking you to give the Run utility the ability to make changes to your computer, click "Yes." Double-click "WriteProtect" and change the value from "1" to "0" to change its status from on to off.

I bought a new 250gb hard drive for my ps3 because the original one that was in my ps3 kept telling me that the storage file system was corrupted and needed to restore which it never fixed itself just ended up doing the same thing over and over again, i put the new hard drive in and the ps3 formatted and updated then when it came to installing always gets 'stuck' at 99% yes used a FAT32 usb stick and downloaded the install update option on Sony's website and did all the instructions several times only to continuously end up in the system update installation loop till 99% argh been a month and im far from over it at this point. 2024 means death to my ps3 sadly. Kinda makes me feel stupid for replacing the disk drive a few years ago could have saved myself $70 right there. Oh well

really appreciate you saying what you went through here, the problem with electronics and downloads and internet😀 etc etc is there is no 1--% something will always work, sad but true, but we always need to give it a go and try, good efforts on what you did and commendable, always keep your constant effort up when trying to do something its a good thing!!!

None of this works i've tried everything from the holding power button to down loading the update on a 512 sd card to a 750 external hard drive ps3 still stuck on update screen at 66%

yer with these its just trial and error, this worked for me as you can see but they are fussy units so its hit and miss a lot of the time, keep trying new things!

ive done all troubleshooting multiple times etc it still freezes up its crazy. im starting to think its a hardware issue. its updated too in 2021 the latest update from sony and final as far as i know. i got my xbox series x great console so is gamepass ultimate and my ps4 pro even lags on the ui it dont freeze sony just has constant issues i like sony but after the ps2 wonderfull console its like its just one issue after another.

yer maybe its even deliberate to push to getting the newer consoles, you never know these days whats in the downloads they make available.

yer like i said in the video and what i came across is dont give up on the first try, could all be to do with the download, the thumb drive might need a fresh format etc etc give it a few good tries :)

@@SAM_STYLE- yer they can be frustrating , all i can say is some times it takes a lot of patience and even repeating steps, there is many things that can stop things going ahead but hope you get there eventually

Thanks your tutorial works but when I enter the menu like at minute 6:44 my ps3 frezee on the menu AND every time I turn it on it always frezee on the menu and stuck there every time I turn on my ps3. Edit:Sorry if I spam it because youtube somehow always deletes my comments for no reason.

your fine, yer the reformatting can be tricky, it might fix on the 4th or even 5th time, i find with these that you got to try many things and many times to make something work, at the end it might need a new hard drive as well, appreciate your comment
