One caveat though. You can't use the home button on the ps4 controller. you'll need your PS3 controller for that.

I already found this out like 4 years ago my friend came over and she plugged her ps4 controller in and it worked on my ps3

okay but why would you? PS3 Dualshock 3 has analog buttons which means that it detects how hard you press certain buttons, and some games require this little feature, Metal Gear Solid 3 for example.

There's also a way for you to actually use your headphones with the PS4 controller on the PS3 that days away but I did it before but it's like it only works a couple of times that's the first time you go on it and use Bluetooth after you've connected it you have to go to the Blue go to the voice changer setting and enter that to make it used for the wireless controller and then when you plug in your headphones it actually works like you actually using headphones Like You on the PS4 which is great and it was absolutely amazing when I tried it it doesn't work all the time I worked in most of the time I'm so with that one the ones where you got a try and see if it works if it doesn't the best thing you can do is just keep trying you start your console and keep trying until like remove the Bluetooth and then do it again but you know

Don’t forget it does not operate like the PS3 controller the PS button doesn’t work nor does plugging in a headset with it
