I've posted several different renditions of this song over the course of the last two decades, but THIS new version is my hands-down favorite! This was one of the last songs we recorded in June just before many of these kids were to move on to intermediate school, and everybody was just really feeling it. The kids delivered a mature performance demonstrating a genuine depth of understanding, while achieving an absolutely perfect blend, punctuating just how far the kids had come, both individually and as a team, in just one short year! 🎶☀️

Dear Gregg Breinberg, about 3 years ago I tried to reach you in all possible ways, but I failed, at least I haven't heard anything from you. I wrote to all famous children choirs over the world. The only one that responded initially was Color Music from Ukraine, who are my friends since that moment. I also got response from One Voice Children's choir, their director is a dear friend of me too as well. I am a general music teacher in the Netherlands, and we share (as it seems) the same passion: we love it to make children sing, and make them believe in themselves and their potential. I also am the leader of an afterschool children's choir (consisting of 40 children in the age of 8-12 years old) and we have not the ambition to become famous on youtube or elsewhere on the internet, but we simply love to sing and improve ourselves as a group (including the 2- or 3-part harmony singing). My question for you is still standing, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you and I can get in touch. You are a big inspiration for me, and the children in my schoolchoir, and I am so sure that I could learn so much from you. I am not here to steal your ideas, and I am also not seeking for any competition. I can imagine that many people try to come close to you, to have some kind of benefit from this. The only benefit I see for my children and myself, is simply the inspiration and the fact that I might learn something from you. The 'profit' for you is that your amazing word and energy is spread over the world towards the Netherlands, where children also love to sing and love to get inspired by you. I really hope that we can write with each other, or talk together about our work. Meanwhile I graduated from my master's study (That was initially the reason I contacted you). I have learned so much from the people from Color Music Ukraine, and I also get so much energy and inspiration and knowledge from the musical director of One Voice Children's choir. But your situation (working in a primary school) looks so much like my situation and is probably yet so different (a whole different population). You have no idea how fascinating this all is, and you are in my eyes a very important person with so much knowledge and experience to share, I can only feel humble and ask whether you let me learn from you. If not, I totally respect that as well, but could you let me know a yes or no. I am still wondering whether you ever got my messages before. If you do not have time, or you simply do not feel like contacting me about this. It is fine. I will accept it, but I really hope you will find some time. Anyway, I wish you and your amazing children all the best. Thanks for your time reading this. Marius Diepenhorst, music teacher from The Netherlands on primary school o.b.s. Kiezel en Kei in Bergambacht and musical director of the Happy Melodies children's choir from the same school.

Absolutely marvelous! I was a student at PS.22 back in 1999, spanning from kindergarten through 5th grade. It's astonishing to reflect on the fact that I'm now 32 years old with two boys of my own, residing in Georgia. Although I wasn't part of the choir during my time at PS.22, I hold a treasure trove of cherished memories, especially those involving Mr. B and the extraordinary performances orchestrated by the choir. Looking back, I often contemplated joining, but my youthful shyness held me back - the irony of it! 😅 Revisiting the auditorium, virtually unchanged from my recollections, and witnessing Mr. B's enduring influence on a new generation of aspiring talents is truly heartwarming. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you, Mr. Breinberg, for serving as a guiding light and a wellspring of inspiration, not only for me but for the successive waves of students who have had the privilege of forging splendid memories under your tutelage. 🌟🎶 It's important to recognize the immense good you've wrought in the lives of countless children, particularly those navigating challenging circumstances. Your dedication to fostering a nurturing and inviting learning environment has had a profound impact. It brings me immense joy to witness your unwavering commitment to your passion, and the genuine care you invest in encouraging the youth to manifest the best versions of themselves. You are truly remarkable. 👏 Additionally, it's nothing short of astonishing how you seem not to have aged a day since I was a child - the testament of timeless dedication, perhaps? Your presence remains as vivid as ever in my memory. Keep igniting the flames of inspiration, Mr. B. You are making a tangible difference in this beautiful, albeit occasionally daunting, world. I offer you my deepest respect and heartfelt well-wishes. 🙌🌟

Gregg, this is gorgeous! Question: Do you sell the sheet music or the performance rights for this for other schools to sing? (not for recording... just school performances)

I remember the group of 2020 singing the song but that version was a bit different. And now I wonder when we'll get the first video of the newest group.

I'm currently studying music education and this is my goal! But HOW do you do this? Like how do they find the harmony and right pitches?? Do you teach theory or how to read music? Or do they just listen and copy?
