Something about that Vulture cinematic stuck with me. The simplistic yet eerie music, the shot of the feather, the idea of Vulture taking the subway when he has flight capabilities? I will always love this.

Maybe he was trying to remain incognito? Not draw attention to himself? Trench coat and taking the train are both good ways of going about it when you're dressed as a giant, green bird

The memories of the ambient dark tone has still stuck with me

i use to have nightmares about Toomes because of this game. Those quick cuts going through the subways doors and revealing Adrian with his robots and him leaving that gate with just a single feather gently falling. Beautiful. SPIDERMAN IS LIFE.

I know this is 5 years old but same, I always found this cutscene creepy and the music makes it more creepier.

I wish they released the music from Vulture's video, so deep and atmospheric, beautiful synths.

I agree a zillion percent!!!!!! That kind of music is perfect for any scary scene in a film, TV series, other video game etc.

This would even work perfectly as a post-credits scene in the MCU. Game was ahead of it's time

You guys think this Vulture is scary, you should check out the Noir version of the character. He’s a circus freak cannibal who ate Uncle Ben. Hollowed out his torso. Ordered to do so by the Goblin.

I remember watching this in 2002 and thinking it was photorealism perfected

I love the music to Vulture's ending to this game where he's in the subway train he's calling to someone named Marie must be his girl's name or wife but in this scene it totally brings his somewhat human side I still have this game since my childhood when I was 9 years old brings me back memories. This song is so chilling it's like something from a Blade movie song, but I also like Shocker's ending a lot.

I remember seeing that Vulture cutscene for the first time as a kid. It used to scare me shitless lmao

I like these unique types of clips (Vulture specifically) where there is interpretation and suspense to it with eerie music, setting and having to make it uncanny but cool at the same time. Love it

This is the closest thing to Spider-Man 4

DMac4214 I understand that, but it did feel like the Treyarch games were going somewhere in the non-movie plots in the movie titles. Like... when Black Cat seemed to be hiding something in Spider-Man 2, how Shocker had an Oscorp facility in Spider-Man 2, who Rhino's boss was, where Scorpion came from... It felt like they had all these threads hanging that they never had the chance to follow up on. Vulture could have tied into it.

I know right?! If Vulture was introduced in Amazing Spider-Man Returns (the final chapter that never was for Andrew Garfield) this would work. The unusual disguise, the ambient music, the rapid-editing for thriller films blending in with psychological "fear of the unknown" shite. If I had to cast Adrien Toomes/Vulture in that movie, I go for John Malkovich. Watch his performance in Con Air (with a a few other films with him in it!) take a good look in his eyes through his portrayal. Hes the instincts of a violent psychotic, yet calculated, strategic and motivated to do his job which involves taking lives without being remorse about it. Laughing it off, sleeping it off or whatever, this guy will scare you as he would scare you as Vulture.

So if I remember right were these bonus cinematics after you'd completed the whole game or just extras? That Vulture cinematic brought back unsettling memories.

Shockers was near impossible to obtain on easy difficulty

I think the Vulture cutscene takes place before the Shocker and him plan the heist. That would be cool if it was.

I remember playing this game a lot when I was younger. I was very impressed with the CGI in the cutscenes. Now... not so much. Not saying that graphics makes the game, in fact its the last thing I look at.

Seriously can somebody! ANYBODY tell me what the name of that background music in Vulture's cutscene? somebody PLEASE!!!!!

Typically for tech demos and such they use music from previous titles they have the rights to. I recommend looking into pre-2002 Treyarch music.

I never actually finished this game as a kid, but I do remember starting it up one day and finding these two cutscenes unlocked for some bizarre reason. Or maybe you unlocked them earlier in the game and I simply never checked until then. It was like, 2006 by that point.

Seems like Vulture and Shocker were intended to be the main villains for Spider-Man(2002). Once the movie was under way they must have been forced to make this a side plot instead.

Holy crap, never thought about it like that, probably just a next-gen follow up to the ps1 era games... then the movie got announced, and thats why all the non-rami-movie stuff in this game is so fleshed out. It would also explain why vulture is less comedic and more serious/creepy here, he was probably the big bad, but then they made him comedic so that he wouldn't over shadow green goblin.

@@TheSlatecrow nope, it was never a followup to neversoft's spider-man, tryarch just used their engine to create this game since the developers didn't have time to make a new engine from the ground up.

I don't know why but Shocker kind of looks here like Vin Diesel

i think the shocker one would be in between the chase through the sewer and the final fight with shocker because he walks through the sewer. (i'm not dissagreing with your opinion) but i think that the vulture would be before the clock tower. he was probably on his way there.

To be honest, after finishing the game, I thought those clips took place after the story with Vulture escaped from the cops through the subway train and Shocker also escaped to bring the power grid down from underneath.

John Malkovich should've been in a Spider-Man film as a psychotic, serial killer-esque savage collector version of Adrian Toomes/Vulture in an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie. This sort of cutscene with Toomes in the New York train hiding discreetly that he has wings that can make him fly (and slice people's throats with) is exactly how I interpret Malkovich as Vulture in live-action form.

Bro this is like an animated movie spider man 2002 would be way better if they put these scenes in the movie

I'm pretty sure it takes place before the heist with Shocker which is why he mentions "it'll begin soon". As for the Shocker cutscene, probably takes place sometime after going down the sewers.

Emanuel Gochez The Vulture from this video would have been more interesting than the one that was actually in the game. But I agree, any Vulture is better than Homecoming's Vulture.

They couldn't add more villains to the films so they did it in video games only just Lizard, Kraven and Rhino in Spiderman 3.
