    The flower on that is beautiful. Did you say it's called a cherry cheesecake rhododendron? They end up having some beautiful flowers. About how big do these get and do you think they can be grown in Florida.

    Give it a try but the easiest way to propagate lilac is through root cuttings.

    Good morning, great videos. So, with you starting a website does that mean you will not be posting more videos to you tube or that the ones you have posted we will not be able to see anymore?

    Does this work for zinnias? I grew some from seeds and they are as tall as me. with one center stem. How do I prune when starting from seeds?

    Should I do this to my laurel cuttings that are flowering too?

  • @MikeKincaid79

    @MikeKincaid79

    Yes, absolutely. You can prune laurel back hard and it will keep bushing out more and more.

    Hi Mike, Question on popping off flower buds on my cuttings. I took cutting of 3 different Rhodies for a friend. Last fall. My husband built me a cold frame like your video. But looking at the 3 inch tall cuttings, most have fat flower buds. I think I should pop them. Right?

  • @MikeKincaid79

    I've rooted them with and without flower buds but yes, you may get better roots by taking off the flower bud. That way it doesn't waste it's energy on flowers and instead, directs it back down to roots.

    How late is too late in the season to prune like you’re showing? Wondering if pruning in now, end of August, new growth would not have time to harden off?

  • @MikeKincaid79

    @MikeKincaid79

    6 жыл бұрын

    Exactly right. Now is probably the worst time to prune. I would wait again until late winter for heavy pruning or Spring for light pruning and pinching.

    So this has happened with a couple of hydrangeas I did from cuttings. They’re lacecap hydrangeas. They have flowers open now. Should I leave or cut back or what?

    If they're already blooming then enjoy the blooms. You can cut them back when the flowers fade.

    Lilacs are easily propagated in the winter as root cuttings. dig down and find a portion of root about as thick as a pencil, snip it off and cut into 4 inch sections. Place in soil and wait for spring to wake it up and start growing.

    Well thanks for coming over to my channel and asking. It's been 2 years and my shoulder is about 85% there but it's taken a lot of rehab on a regular basis and I'm basically starting back over with the weights. I've been told by a physical therapist that shoulders take the longest to heal and I'm finding that to be a fact. After 2 years of rehabbing this thing, I'm not convinced it was the dips that hurt me. I think it was something I did to it while working on my farm. I was running some fencing and had to dig a post hole. While digging the hole I hit a rock and used a rock bar to beat the heck out of it and get it out of the hole, and while I was banging on the rock I felt some pain in my shoulder that felt really weird but wasn't that bad. The next time I went to lift I had severe pain as soon as I used my shoulder and assumed it was the dips but in hindsight I don't think it was. Being a typical guy, I kept pushing through the pain (which was pretty bad) for weeks while continuing to lift heavy so I think that contributed to the problem. I really think that if I would have stopped lifting as soon as I felt the pain I would have been better in 6 months but you know how us guys are. I'm finally to a point where I'm going to try to build my strength back up this summer and lift heavy again. We'll see what happens. You know what the worst part about the whole thing was. The damn rock is still in the hole, LOL!
