I've been working with this company and in the last few weeks they've started mentioning "concerns" the last few weeks of my probation that is, which seems odd to think I had no complaints until the last few weeks... They constantly make it out like I'm not working hard enough, my standards are slipping etc, even had another colleague to back them up, no proof it's me leaving the rubbish and if anyone else does it, it gets ignored... Also I've noticed on my shifts I'm alone, and on their shifts they have support from each other...

My workplace recently changed brands (same parent company, both hospitality). It seems that all the staff from the previous brand have been discriminated against. I myself signed a full-time contract (35 hrs/week) min-wage and I only get paid for the hours I work. Since the place opened (15th dec), I have only worked 41 hours (its now 21 Jan). There are some weeks where I have had zero hours and at most I'm given 15 hours a week. I wasn't aware it was a zero-hour contract and it doesn't say as such. I cannot afford to live on 35 hours a month - I am a 45 yr mother of 3. The staff who have been given the hours they want are all young. Fortunately, the hours are recorded in black and white, they cannot deny that my hours have been cut well below my contracted hours. They have offered me work in the kitchen but only since I complained about the lack of shifts front of house. Its not good enough as I've already lost financially. I want to take this further but not sure how.

Did you get anywhere? I have a similar situation with false advertising but as regards job description - I've had half my responsibilities taken away.
