Absolutely. Release a DVD. I would buy it. The way you tell it is fantastic for new believers. I listen to your videos to try and discern which chapter to read next.

So I just finished my devotional time with God this morning on Proverbs 8. Then this suddenly popped up in my feed! I couldn't help but get teary eyed because its a confirmation for me and the art is just superb and very easy to understand! It's like God is really guiding me to better understand this word on wisdom. 😭 Praise Abba Father. Also, Thankful for the Bible Project for doing what He called you to do. 💕

@@CS-dn8rd Lucky Dr Tim Mackie has a PhD is his field. He knows more than you as a Jehovah Witness, and he specialises in Semitic Languages. You can pull out verses and try and tell Dr Tim Mackie and Christians alike what verses should be interpreted as. For example Proverbs 8:22-23 Jehovah Witnesses believe and are taught, indoctrinated, its about the creation of Jesus, False. It's about the personification of Wisdom. Which is well known and taught by Pastors and Bible Scholars. The fact that it's well known in the Christian community the false teachings of the Jehovahs Witnesses and misinterpreted scriptures and adding to scriptures and updating the heretical New World Translation on a regular basis because real Christians have found faults in their scriptures. Where's the Jehovahs Witnesses KZread channels teaching scriptures of truth with confidence like Bible Project, Cross Examined etc..?? Where's your sermons taught at your congregation is it online? Like many churches today, my Church sermons are online, teachings from the Bible for all to see. Who wrote the New World Translation? My Bible has a list of translator's over 100 with PhDs. Any Bible Scholars with PhDs that translated the NWT?

I’ve been watching these videos since I was 13 and all I have 2 say is thank u I’m 19 now and the word of god have made me think differently from all my peers ... I lost many of them thru violence and the system..but his word kept me sane thru it all I don’t kno what’s next for me in this life but it been rough so far but Ik thru him it’s only gonna get better 💯✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

@@ayandamafuyeka1952 Well that's the thing, they wouldn't be affiliated with Hollywood. They could make a film and sell it independently to their internet audience. They could easily use Kickstarter or Patreon to reach out to their followers to finance a large cinematic film without any other companies intruding on their content. I'm just saying, if Bible Project created their version of the Prince of Egypt, I'd pay big money to help create that.

In the story of the Bible, God appoints humans as his representatives in ruling the world (Gen 1:26-28). But they fall prey to a deceptive voice and foolishly choose their own destruction over God’s wisdom (Gen 3:1-24). So how can humans recall their lost vocation? In Proverbs 8, we’re introduced to God’s own wisdom, depicted as an elegant woman who summons all people to enter the high city of divine learning so they can rediscover a new way to be human. The poem is saturated with imagery that recalls the creation story of Genesis chapter 1. Lady wisdom claims that it was through her that God transformed chaos into cosmic order (Prov 8:22-31), and she now offers her wisdom to humans who are called to order the world as well (see Prov 8:12-22). Notice the important use of the Hebrew word “carve” (Heb. khaqaq). It describes how leaders “issue decrees,” referring to the ancient practice of inscribing laws and decrees into stone (Prov 8:15). These human attempts at ordering the chaos of our world are in fact an image of God’s own “carving” actions when he brought order to the chaotic, dark waters of Genesis 1:2. (See how khaqaq is used in Proverbs 8:27-29, where it’s translated as “inscribed, marked, boundary”). When humans live by God’s wisdom, they bring order to the world by imitating God’s own wise carving of the cosmos. And when humans refuse God’s wisdom and order the world by their own schemes, they inevitably drag the world back into chaos and disorder. So Proverbs 8 and Lady Wisdom offer each of us a choice: Will we order our lives and communities by our own wisdom or by God’s? The cosmos hangs in the balance; we should choose wisely. You do realise 8.22 shows that the holy spirit is a creation? WISDOM 9.17, 7.25 and 27. Also proverbs 9.1 to 5 is a reference to the eucharist, jesus was born of the holy spirit dont forget. Beautiful video

You said the Hebrews believed that pillars held the ground to keep it from sinking into the sea. But this is Proverbs and its written in Hebrew poetic style. So the imagery of the pillars is figurative not literal. Pillars represent stability and strength. The Hebrews LOVED poetry and its figurative exaggeration to make their points more clear. My question is what evidence do we have that they literally thought the pillars were real? The Ancient Hebrew scholars and teachers I've read have never made a claim like that.

Why 4k? Do they even make enough to pay for the computing necessary (+/- $10,000 per work station plus backup storages)? It's a ministry, not a gold making venture. Sorry for seeming so intense (just read that back). You have a great point, the art is really good. The advances in tech are still fairly new enough to be very high-end right now. Maybe you could do a fundraiser for them? edited: typo

@@hoperules8874 By the quality seen in these videos, I'm sure they have the equipment necessary to upload videos in 4K. It doesn't take a $10,000 workstation to make it possible. And 4k screens aren't that difficult to come by inexpensively anymore. 4K is quickly becoming standard issue on mobile phones and tablets. I understand why one would yearn to make full use of their 4k screens with Bible Project videos.

just keep the children near to God. don't listen to outsiders. satan has ways today to trick you and your family that God is just a myth or even to not fully listen and worship and stay near to God. satan has acolytes everywhere, but God is...God. there is no other besides Him. worship Him until the end no matter what and read His Word daily. be careful, for many will interpret the Bible not in the right way(throughout It Self), but will mix tradition in understanding it, bringing unbiblical ideas to the mind. they just want to deceive you. stay strong and loving in the Lord Jesus Christ until the end. learn a lot from the Bible and test everything with its help! may God bless you

@@acontdeyout1517 Despite the fact that the Book of Genesis *never* mentions Satan, Christians have traditionally interpreted the serpent in the Garden of Eden as Satan due to Revelation 12:7, which calls Satan "that ancient serpent". This verse, however, is probably intended to identify Satan with the Leviathan, a monstrous sea-serpent whose destruction by Yahweh is prophesied in Isaiah 27:1. The first recorded individual to identify Satan with the serpent from the Garden of Eden was the second-century AD Christian apologist Justin Martyr, in chapters 45 and 79 of his Dialogue with Trypho. There are surprisingly *few* references to Satan in the Christian Bible- certainly not enough to give it any weight as evidence. Some citations once seen as being references are now *known to be otherwise* due to better translations. Even the serpent in the story of Adam and Eve is *not* Satan (and is not called Satan) as the Garden of Eden was a perfect paradise and a place free of sin, so therefore Satan could not and should not have been there. It is ridiculous to think that God ejected Adam and Eve from Eden for sinning whilst it allowed Satan itself to freely prowl around there! Know then that "SATAN" is just a *Hebrew word that means opposer.* It appears everywhere in the Torah and the Talmud. The concept of argument, having two sides, is the concept of opposition- or "Satan." *Sapient Wisdom* Jesus would say " YOU'VE ALL GOT IT WRONG!"

I don’t make any carved images nor worship any. But you think I am ignorant or you think the video is wrong and ignorant. My guess is you think this Proverb teaches that Jesus was created?

[16] For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through him and for him. -> it says Jesus created everything… please go to the first verse in your Bible and it’s says… [1] In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. -> the firstborn of all creation is referring to him being raised from the dead the 2nd Adam. Raised to an endless life in a body that cannot die. He is seated on the throne of God (which means He is God). Hope that’s a help to you? If you believe that Jesus created everything as verse 16 says then just focus on the first verse in the Bible until the light comes on.

Consider giving to this ministry, it is a blessing, you will not regret it, I did 😊 and it is being a tremendous blessing, God is so faithful. To God be the glory always and forever.

I love the fact that Lady Wisdom is depicted wearing black because in some cultures, black is considered the color of honor and justice like modern day judges. I would also consider the color of faith, especially when you see it on priests and nuns. It feels thematically appropriate from a visual standpoint.

Lady wisdom is no other than Jesus Christ. The Embodiment of the Knowledge of God. The only Gateway to God(LiFe). He Was here before the any creation and by and through Him all things were created. He loves us so dearly that even when we choose chaos and destroyed the original plan of God, He came and died to restore us back to our original place. And today He is still calling out to everyone one of us to choose Him and Live. Behold He Stands at the door and knock and whoever opens He will come in and give Life. You guys are top tier man. I am always discouraged to never see anyone representing the true form of Christianity. They are always trying to get something out of you, whether it is your vote, money, or time. You guys are some of the few people who actually understands the Bible and is presenting it in a modern and understandable way. Who is this Mother- "Lady Wisdom"... If any one want to know Who She really is...just connect the dots for your own... Read Proverbs 9:5-6.... It says ""Come, eat my bread and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight." Here Lady Wisdom is saying the eating and drinking from the bread and wine which she mixed gives Us life... And the only Bread and Wine which gives us life is Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Now connect, Jesus Christ got His Body and Blood from His Mother Mary. Then who could this Lady Wisdom be...!! No wonder why GOD the Father chose Mary to be the Mother of His Son ....!! I know Your hardened hearts won't be able to accept this Truth....!!

@kdm_ pallavi its so illogical to understand it as you said, when Word of GOD acknowledge the fact Wisdom was made by GOD and Wisdom is associated with Female pronoun "She". GOD never said what is talking there is only about an intellectual quality.... Why do you want to make a strawman...!! And surely wisdom is from GOD.... Mary is from GOD...!! Look if we assume like you said i.e. wisdom here is only an intellectual quality...then, to understand, there is no need to assign the " She" to something that is neither female nor Male..... And if wisdom is only made at a certain point of time like it is said in the verses...then that means there is no wisdom before...that makes GOD an unwise GOD...!! And just tell me why did GOD choose Mary, from all other women, to be the Mother of Jesus Christ...??

Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD, would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices.

@@kymdickman8910 not that I think theologians are very good at their Bible knowledge, but many theologians contribute the personification of wisdom to Jesus, except when it comes to Proverbs 8:22-30. The writers in the Bible were inspired by and wrote about Jesus. Jesus used the writers to write about Him. 1 Peter 1:11 If you read Proverbs 30:4 you will see some questions dealing with creation. The last question the author asks who is He that did all these things and what is His Son's name. In other words, in creation there were only two who created. God and His Son that was there. The answers to these questions are found in Proverbs 8:22-30 where Jesus is describing His bringing fourth, before anything was, from God. Jesus is the Son of God, not God the Son. Read 1 Corinthians 1:24, 30; 2:7. Here we see that Jesus is the power and the *wisdom* of God. Jesus is made*wisdom* unto us. (Sounds familiar with this video?) If you compare Luke 11:49 and Matthew 23:34 you have the same account of Jesus speaking. In Luke Jesus tells us that the "wisdom of God" sent prophets, etc. In Matthew the same Jesus says "I" send unto you prophets, etc. Here we have Jesus being recorded and the connection between Him and the wisdom of God. For example, read Proverbs 8:35. It speaks that those that find wisdom find life. Now compare that to John 1:4,9,12. That life is found in Jesus. Also look at John 5:21, 26, 39-40. This is a very good study. Part of it is discovering that God is not who most churches teach today. Thanks for your question.

I find it really interesting that by the fourth century, Christians spoke about Proverbs 8 as a poem about Christ. The wisdom or logos is incarnate as Jesus! I found that historical interpretation to pair SUPER well with this video. Thanks BibleProject!

I've been trying to read through the bible for a long time but eventually stop for various reasons but I've been reading a lot more in the past few months and I've just finished Proverbs. I look forward to finishing each book so I can watch your overview videos and other videos you might have on the book. Every time I watch your videos it makes me feel and unexplainable feeling inside and I think its caused by the absolutely amazing editing and beautiful art style perfectly complimented by the detailed, insightful and astute yet simple explanations of complex and nuanced topics. I really love your videos and right now its one of the main driving forces behind my spiritual development.

This is amazing work on visualizing the concept of lady wisdom

This comes in such a key point in history. These days my country has been suffering because people are protesting against the government's corruption and injustice, but police and miitary forces are using guns and brutality to attack people. As a christian, I am sure we must pray and raise our voice for the oppressed like the Bible says, but it's hard to know HOW to do it wisely. Please pray for Colombia and all countries that have been facing issues like these (the whole world honestly), so our leaders but also each one of us can choose to follow Lady Wisdom and ultimately God's ways.

I feel like the fact that wisdom is shown as a woman is notable, since back in these times women weren’t exactly looked at as very wise or even smart at all. It also just causes the message to feel more loving and soft, rather than like an authoritative man. Like, obviously those roles aren’t always how people act, like sometimes women are more aggressive and men can be very soft, but the immediate image you get is a lot softer since wisdom is a woman and I just really like that.

If you read the bible in hebrew, when the text talks about the spirit of god hovering over the waters(genesis 1:2). It uses the feminine form of the verb, so lady wisdom in fact is the feminine part of god

If you laugh because you are against God having a feminine part because you believe that women are not worthy, then you are with the serpent, since God said that there would be enmity between the woman and the serpent.

There are a couple of different directions that most theologians go on whether it is talking about Jesus or not... but listen to the podcast then make up your own mind. These guys go into Hebrew and dissect it very well. 🙂

Jesus is not She...!! Don't say GOD didn't know who She and who He is...!! Look If you really want to know Who She really is...just connect the dots for your own... Read Proverbs 9:5-6.... It says ""Come, eat my bread and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight." Here Lady Wisdom is saying the eating and drinking from the bread and wine which she mixed gives Us life... And the only Bread and Wine which gives us life is Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Now connect, Jesus Christ got His Body and Blood from His Mother Mary. Then who could this Lady Wisdom be...!! No wonder why GOD the Father chose Mary to be the Mother of His Son ....!! I know Your hardened hearts won't be able to accept this Truth....!!

Look if you read the above verses of 1 Corinthians 1:24...i.e. Verses 18-23, in context, Paul is not referring to Personified Wisdom....rather is talking about the intellectual Quality Wisdom...!! Just if God is calling Wisdom "She" in one place and calling "He" in other won't that contradicts each other...?? The Word of GOD never contradicts...!!

Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD, would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices.
