Proven Winners Supertunia Vista Bubblegum Review | Gardening with the Williams'
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
After two growing seasons with this amazing annual, I can easily say this one's a winner! Even though these plants survive here in So Cal for multiple seasons, even where they're true annuals, they excel. Here's a look at how they've done in our garden. Enjoy.

Thank you so much. It really is.
Hi thanks for a very informative video, I’ve ordered bubblegum plug plants that are due to arrive today😁this is my first year with the P W annuals as they are difficult to get in England 🙁. I also have the Jazzberry and Silverberry plugs that I have been growing on under grow-lights and these are ready for planting out now. Will be interesting to see how they perform in the wet north west of England. Thanks again and looking forward to future videos.

Wow, Bubblegum Supertunia' is a blossom bomb! What are the names of the roses in the corner bed? The effect is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks much. Darn… what a great description… “a blossom bomb”! I should have thought of that. Hehe! Yes they are. The roses are Pink Iceberg, burgundy Iceberg, and Benjamin Britain David Austin Rose. 🌹

@@williamsgardening Thanks Mr Williams. Cheers.
This is my 3rd season of overwintering bumblegum. There is a few that has come back for me that I have planted in the ground. I am hoping they do it again this yr but we had our lowest temperture here in north ga zone 7b christmas week in 20 yrs so I have my doubts. I do have about 7 starter plants in the house under grow lights. Fingers crossed. But you are right, these are awesome petunias! Pretty easy maintanice too!

@@williamsgardening they are real easy to take cuttings and stick in potting soil and they'll produce roots pretty fast.
I'm in the Central Valley. I planted Paradise, Jazzberry, and Bubblegum last spring and they are so full right now. Can't believe they survived the what seemed like 4 months of Bomb Cyclones!!

Wow, that's amazing! These really are hardy annuals. Thanks so much for sharing that. I've loved all those varieties in our garden for sure. Happy Gardening! Did you have to cut them back at all?

@gardeningwiththewilliams9965 I only slightly trimmed off some leggy stems. No big cut back. Maybe fertilized a couple of times since the fall. Easiest plant to care for.

I found that the ones that are in containers seem to come back easier than the ones that I plant in the landscape here in zone 10. But that just might be my experience.
Wow amazing!! I just ordered some Supertunia vista for my 14’ hanging basket. I got the 4.25 eco grande 4 pack. Do you think I could divide the 4.25 inch plant in half so I can make another basket? Or will it ruin the plant?
@williamsgardening
Жыл бұрын
That are going to look beautiful for you for sure. I probably wouldn't divide them because they do best if you simply plant them as is. It will give them the best start possible. Thanks for watching and happy gardening!
Thanks for posting this. I am new to PW plants. Did you get these at the big box stores? I am also in So Cal but so far haven't seen them at HD or Lowes. I wanted to get these but not sure if I have to get them online. Any pointers would be appreciated. I am in the LA area.

Hello there from the LA area too. Glad you like the video. Yes, Proven Winners products are hard to come by for sure. Still, Lowes does carry them usually starting in April. It's hit or miss and can vary from store to store. I have even found them sometimes at Armstrong nurseries, but had no luck last year. Not sure why growers don't supply more varieties on our area, but we do see them from time to time. It's definitely cheeper when you find them locally, but I am glad that the online store is avail just in case. Hope this helps and thanks so much for your question. Happy gardening!🌿

Good morning from the UK. I have just found you and working my way through your past videos. In this video you mention BT as a way to control pests. Please can you tell me what BT is? Thanks in advance Debs

Жыл бұрын
Glad you've been enjoying the videos. Thank you so much for watching and welcome to our garden. Yes, BT is an organic pesticide that handles bud worms (caterpillars). It is made from a naturally occurring bacteria that is found in certain soils. It acts by disrupting the digestive system of the bud worm making impossible to digest, which end the end kills them. It's great because it doesn't harm beneficial pollinators or animals. Here is the link to what I use here in the US: BT on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Bonide-Quart-Caterpillar-Thuricide-Spray/dp/B01LYXXTZF/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1DSBRFSLD48XV&keywords=bonide+bt&qid=1679764692&s=lawn-garden&sprefix=bondie+bt%2Clawngarden%2C153&sr=1-2 Hope this helps. Have a great day and happy gardening. 🌻
