I have seen her perform this live. The straight boys were reduced to a blithering mess by the way she moved as well as she sang. I was totally mesmerised and in awe, the woman was about 60 years old and put out more energy than girls half her age. Tina was the complete performer.

Ms. Turner's performance at the old Wembley Stadium, London, occurred when she was 60 and, as always, the choreography on "Proud Mary" happened with her in 4(?) inch heels. Unbelievable! Timeless!. Classic!

Here's John Fogerty: “I just thought, 'Man, Tina could sing circles around them,'” John said in his book "Fortunate Son,” reflecting on the late soul singer Tina Turner's vocal prowess. “I was overjoyed by Ike and Tina's version of “Proud Mary,” he continued. “It felt like a really positive thing.”

Even in her 70's she was a force on stage. Dancers less than half her age could barely keep up. Watch a live version especially one in her later years to see how great she was when most of her peers had retired. Live at Wembley at 61 years young is a great choice.

Here's my Tina Turner story: I was working for the FAA in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1986. I was doing the midnight shift and she had a concert in Iowa City that night. Her private jet was sitting out there on the ramp. Around 1 AM, one of the security guys invited me to go down to the ramp with him to get a closer look. We were sitting off at a respectable distance, maybe 50 yards away, when her limo pulled up, fresh from her show. Tina gets out of the limo, looks around, spots us and walks straight over to us to shake our hands and thank us for being there on duty in the middle of the night. Besides the enormous talent, she is an incredibly gracious lady and a fine human being.

What a classic! What a nightmare Tina had to endure in Ike. As others have said, you're missing the added visual aspect of Tina and her back-up singers dancing. Gotta do that at some point.

Both this version and CCR’s are amazing just with different “seasoning”. You guys will end up loving both but just for different reasons that’s all.

This supercharged my Thursday! I saw Tina Turner in concert and she was incredible. I agree that you should see a live, extended version with her and the backup dancers on YT. Tina is the best!

CCR is great but Tina’s version of this song blows theirs away. With her and Ike’s deep ass voice makes this a classic.

I'm probably a bigger CCR fan than I am a Tina Turner fan (though huge fans of both) and even I'll admit I prefer Tina Turner's version.

You won't be able to decide. Both are fantastically awesome in their own way.

Oooooohhh yes indeed! "Proud Mary" became CCR's most covered song and I love it!! Check out some live performances, will blow your mind. Tina Turner is the Queen of Rock n Roll. Thanks guys!!
