Havin a lategame raven for detection + anti-armor missile would be a reasonable stage to make it easier. Failure to spot one of many observers doesn't add to the fun, and seeing ghost do better in straight up fights because of an anti-air missile seems fun as well just - its just like an extra attack upgrade in a way.

I think this is a great idea. Ghosts are all about tech, yeah? If protoss gets an observer as a support intelligence unit... I'm just picturing clutch saves with a couple auto turrets, and, well, all the stuff that pair could do together. Maybe throw some ravens in your post-challenge ghost games, Mmr. uThermal? 8P

I'm in favor of an ongoing ghosts 'n ravens thing. I'm sorry to see the GtG playlist end, but it was always going to and I understand the difficulties. It's just a hell of a lot of fun to see pro-level macro/micro get as much value as possible out of spellcasting units.

Thank you for making this ghost series, its was really fun for most of the entire community. i’ve seen lots of people trying this build and its so regarding to see. I think the most importan thing till this point of the series is you to have fun, and the series is almost done, at least for me. Thank you again thermy

Throwback Tuesday or Thursday could be a good series, rotating through all the old challenges. I actually found this channel from watching a bunch of Lowko and Harstem and YT recommending the Bongcloud into Penguin Brothers episode.

A once a week (or every other week) throwback episode would be fun. Boomcloud, ravens, ghosties, penguin brothers, or any of the previous challenges.

I like once a week or longer revisit, because i like to see the "story" unfold in the new challenges. For me, every other day is perfect for that.

"No disrespecting here... But let's be realistic." I just love the way you speak about your opponents. And also about yourself. On one hand, I admire the balance you keep between being confident but humble. On the other hand, you are so loveable and such an amazing role model when you share your feelings, thoughts, frustrations, ideas, vulnerability. It was some episodes ago when you shared your inner state and approach to defeats and struggles - and for me it was such an amazing example. It is so cool that there are someone with such a developed emotional health that we can see... behaving, functioning. Sidenote: Ghosts are my favourite, I'm happy to hear that it won't be a total shutdown!:)

It"s always as much fun to watch as you have as player, so do the challenges the way you enjoy them most and it will 100% carry over to the viewer entertainment.

I know this is going to sound weird, but I’d really like to see you add liberators against Protoss in this challenge. Besides stalkers, I think they handle the major weaknesses of the ghost (skytoss and disruptors) while still being weird.

what about just adding a raven to the ghost challenge to spot the observers? i'm curious if the raven can disable the observers.. If you made a few ravens you could anti armor missle and disable colossi. also would be fun to see a weekly ghost AND raven challenge in the same game.

That's the best part lmao edit: you're right, I found this channel while watching Lowko casting, and Ghost only peaked my interest there and came in here for sub. I am little sad knowing Ghost challenge is ending, but it was fun while it lasted. And who knows, maybe you can eventually come up with something even more fun. So yeah. You do you.

Personally I think the SC2 community can do without the raging/abusive/troll comments (Well actually I think that for all areas of life, but we are talking about SC2 in this instance); Why can't someone just go, "well...damn....I didn't see that coming. GG" and move on without all the toxicity.

I'm interested to see ravens and vikings added to ghost challenge, especially against protoss. Enough vikings to one-shot observers + raven I think would love to see if you can snipe all the observers before fighting with ghosts and then add anti-armor missile, vikings I think would also give you a chance against colossi and carriers and terran tank pushes/mech

Love the idea of continuing the series for a portion of the episodes. Variety is super important

I think it would be fair to the challenge to build a raven once you get late game vs. Protoss for detection and even missiles. Especially when observers are up your butt

However you like to switch it up: The most important thing is that you're having fun with it!

maybe make a few ravens so you can get observers and disables or armor shred. that way you get your 2 most popular series in one.

Okay, I know I just left a comment not that long ago, but I was thinking that while I love the challenges and the meme builds, I was thinking that series where you hunt for strong builds that are only a little weird. Something like the 3 ghost rush build, but with less restrictions for follow ups. Literally a series to hunt for strong new timings and strategies. Might be dumb, but it sounds fun.

If You fail to get to the protos base early(because observers) You coud use map control to build forward sensor tower(You seam to have ebay around 5:00 so no problem there). Your oponent will have to chose either he moves out and contest the map ctrl or stay and you will see his movement in the base.

Could be fun if you make a challenge where you are allowed to make only one type of units from a type of building. For example marines from the barracks, Vikings from the starports and say cyclones from the factories.

Maybe try doing a random challenge where you let chance pick your build. For instance, pick six builds -- e.g. 1) all ghosts, 2) ravens and helions, 3) penguin brothers, 4) bongcloud, 5) proxy racks, and 6) BC rush. Then roll a 6-sided die before every match, and whichever number comes up, that's the build you do. This will add the excitement of variety and randomness. And let's see how far up the ladder you can get.

in a pvt, what do I do vs mass tanks and widow mines? I learned stalkers is not a good idea. I blink to dodge the shots but there are always more mines... always more mines.

Against terran you could keep a medivac with 3 ghosts in it hidden somewhere across the map and when he atks you with big army you EMP his CCs to prevent scans

What is phase two against protoss? What unit to mix in for the Ghost Hold to Grandmaster?

With Protoss, EMP buildings and strip them of shields right before the nuke hits, should provide a more efficient use of the nukes.

TBH Ghost Raven sounds epic. Ghosts can EMP protoss shields and snipe zerg everything, and ravens can destroy the armor of anything. Ravens can disable any powerful units like ultras, BCs, thors, motherships, and vipers. Ghosts can stop any spellcasters from using their abilities, including oracles, infestors, and the dreaded BCs. Ravens can detect cloaked/burrowed units, and ghosts can cloak. They feel made for each other. Only counter I feel like might be early game proxy cheese, terran bio, and maybe tempest.

You can call it RNG Wednesdays. It is sad to see the main series end but love watching everything else as well!

It would be interesting to see a Ghost Raven build.

I think you should be allowed to make a couple of ravens against toss, you can fly around spotting the obs which would allow so many more opportunities to outplay your opponent and it would also let you disable collosus or auto turret observers. I don't know how much of a help it would be because it's so gas intensive but that's a pro in of itself, it doesn't help you too much because it's so cost intensive but would really allow the main part of the challenge much better.

You should try experimenting with holding the line while baiting with a nuke more often. Maybe even nuke on top of your own units as you engage in a fight and then stutter step your ghosts back so it looks like you're broken and on the retreat. Make them chase when they smell blood in the water!

as a new viewer on the channel that came with the beginning of ghost to gm. I like the idea of continued vids, but i dont know if the new challenges are going to be better!!! I would actually enjoy Uthermal doing a challenge on another race! if ghost to gm had to be benched for it i would be ok with it.

Why after FF at 42:11 both players switched colors? Kinda messed up considering the supply colors didn't change...

I stand by that phase two is viking ghost... It doesn't se like the solution, but it should cover enough of where the ghosts are weak that I think it is possible. 😁 I do have to wonder though, it feels like the ghost opening goes well vs Protoss and Zerg. Do you think that 3 ghosts into ghost mech, or maybe 3 ghosts into bio would be a legit strategy?

Looks like at this level ot opponents it turns rough with ghosts only. Maybe some ease for the terms like at least 50% of your supply must be ghosts bit rest of supply can be anything?

Is there any small change that you could do for the finale against protoss? Someone else suggested a couple of Ravens. I will look forward to seeing the ghost and Ravens/hellions occasionally, but don't forget about the penguin brothers and bongcloud!

Ghost series is cool and I believe you don't have a grandmaster only because of season end/begin! So would be great to continue and get the grandmaster when there's enough games! And then the idea of moving to other challenges but still having some ghosts videos from time to time is very interesting!

I really hoped you would go with the "mass ghosts plus mass some other unit" style for the second or third stage of this challenge. Anyway, I'm still hoping to see a mass ghosts plus mass BC combo during the grand finals. It's bound to be epic with snipes and yamatos flying in all directions. P.S. An idea for a future challenge - Noah's Ark to GM, where you are required to build 2 of each unit type before you are allowed to mass-build any unit (GM seems to sound too optimistic for such a build though).

I propose "The madman nostalgia" (or whatever you want to call it) series with revisiting different finished challenges instead of just raven-ghost series that you mentioned. I'm not a huge fan of ravens, so seeing other old challenges too would be preferable for me.

What about a Spell Casters/MagicMan challenge with Ghosts, Ravens, and BC's? Seems like the best highlights of sc2 (for me at least) have always been mass snipes, sick nukes, yamatos, clutch bc jumps, disables before attacking in, and so on. Never played sc2 actually, so this might be a bad suggestion but would love to see a situation where you're yamato-ing AND sniping AND nuking AND disabling at the same time. all while probably max out-valuing the opponent :P

30:45 wouldnt emp be better to prevent the snipes? then you have free rain to snipe as they try to flee.

Is it the ghost attack animation causing them to "hiccup" when you try to move them? More frames to fire than a marine likely.

Maybe you could put a cap on the number of games to see if you can get GM with a comp within a certain limit. Perhaps the challenge could just be which comp can achieve the highest MMR?

Is Ghost + Raven only possible at all? I feel like it will be a good late game comp, but then you'll be really really starved for gas. Maybe that's where the challenge comes in? Finding the perfect balance for the gas you have depending on the situation? I imagine the carnage it can do though. Your opponent will have to decide if he takes down the Ghosts first, resulting in terrible turret damage. Or if he decides to attack the Ravens and/or turrets, or run away, the Ghosts can get all the free Snipes.

ghost to gm is so good tho. please dont end it yet. making it weekly (or maybe twice weekly) is a good suggestion though.

I think the Ghost to GM is by far my favourite series you have ever done.... Just from the point of view of you trying to make what is quite frankly a horrible strategy work as well as you have.... But I don't see why you should continue if you are not enjoying it. If you decide to do a second ghost series I would suggest an incremental supply limit say Phase 1 - 8 Supply Phase 2 - 12 Supply Phase 3- 18 Supply Phase 4- 24 Supply I still think you would be limited but with that kind of challenge maybe your Ghost to GM series could reasonably hope for high 5K-6K MMR.... I just look at some of those late-game fights you lost and think even if its not the best, you would have won had you had, say, even 12 marauders to deal building damage, stim into mech armies, a front line to tank for your ghosts.... Or if you even had 18 marines in medivacs how much more potent could nukes be if you were doom dropping some 3/3 marines and trying a simultaneous quad nuke? Whether its hard counters or just your pure ghost armies ability to capitalize on your advantages you yourself can see better than me how hard it is for you to capitalize or even initiative and momentum in games at times.

I'm not even sure which interesting strategies you haven't played yet so uhm idk only Bcs? And also btw love your videos and personality!🙏✨
