Protecting Super Light Clay 🌸 How to Seal your Foam Clay

In this video I'm trying different methods to seal and protect finished Foam Clay pieces. This time I'm using UV Resin and matte and glossy Glue Sealers - kind of like Mod Podge (Which I'm trying out soon too!).
I already tried the matte and glossy varnish from Fimo at the end of this video: • HUGE Foam Clay Earring... 😉
If you know any other kinds of sealers I should try - please let me know! 😊 Questions and requests are very welcome!
On my channel you can find a lot of videos about Foam Clay (Super Light Clay) and projects to try out 🌸

For UV resin you want at least a half-face respirator mask and nitril gloves

Ohh I didn‘t know about the gloves, thank you! And is the mask the same people wear when painting (walls but also cars and stuff)?

Thanks for this 🌷 I've been wondering what I could use on foam clay. I like the idea of the UV resin making the piece hard and thereby more durable 👍 Your cats are adorable 🥰

I have used mod podge, but do not seem to have the sticky trouble everyone has been experiencing. It does smudge the colors if they are dark. I started using the modge podge spray. It must be used outside or well ventilated area. Smells of a strong nail polish. It is very nice to use.

That‘s good to know, thank you! I definitely want to try out mod podge and I didn‘t even think of sprays 🧐 It would be so much easier if this works, I have to look into that 😊

@@the.sarahworld yes I do light coats of spray. And let it dry in-between.i only do 2 or 3 coats and it is still semi soft.

And I can imagine the coats will be much more evenly then with painting it on 🤔 such a great tip thank you 🥰

Have you tried gel nail polish, the kind you cure under a UV lamp? I found out you can use it on polymer clay recently, it seems to work well. Plus it’s not as pungent as UV resin, and you can get it in a matte finish 😀

I have the mod Podge glossy, and I have to wait so long for it to not be sticky any more so I might switch to uv resin 🤔

So it‘s similar to the one I tried? Now after a few weeks they are not sticky anymore but so loud when you touch it 🤔 Resin is a lot less work definitely but make sure to use a face mask and nitril gloves like in the pinned comment :)

    Will resin turn yellow later?

I think UV resin could turn yellow, if you want it to last longer maybe normal resin would be a better choice :) it shouldn‘t get yellow over time I heard
