After almost 10 years of rough use, my first Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW (first version) unfortunately had to leave me due to a defective zipper on the rear main compartment. For me there was no question that it should be the new ProTactic 450 AW II. For daily and extensive use, I can't find anything better and more flexible on the market. The modular expansion options open up so many possibilities. I hope that the new ProTactic will accompany me for many years to come. 😊

Wish the rain cover were expandable so it can cover my tripod in the rain.

Just got my 350 AW II and returned it today. exchanging it for 450 II for more space.

I hope there are enough paddings added to the shoulder straps. I'm using the first gen and the only complaint I have about the bag is the flimsy straps.

Looks like several improvements over BP 450 AW I, another concern is the accessory strap for mount the tripod, the previous generation is easy to fall out, is this generation better?

Not bad i bought the 450 recently , to fit a nikon 200-500 lens , but found the dividers a bit flimsy , luckily i had a temba axis 32l , (spare dividers) theyre far stiffer than the flimsy lowepro dividers , so now my 450 has great rigidity how i want it set out , the lowepro dividers offer no rigidity at all

finally the belt thicker stopped me upgrading my 2005 model with my 1dxmk2 as im exarmy and missing the thicker waist belt but still no take off day pack tri pod looks better than version 1 as the old nice square one was strong held large manfrotto. plus being ex infantry weight dispersion and thick belt for back was what stopped me up grading old. looks better have to see if find In Australia tweed heads as shop socks lower as thats place got webbing and pouches plus 3 other low pro packs, started old trek but missing the old day pack on this and few other. veterans pension so price in Australia hope not overtop. wades camera store sucked your gear 10 yrs or more. so be interested.

Have they solved the leak issue of the original? The all-weather cover doesn't cover the laptop compartment well and results in water getting in during heavy rainfall. As we all know, most laptops don't handle water too well.

Hi, I received only 1 accessory strap, I just wondering what happen? Is this mean I must return the bag and order to another store?

How can the side pockets and the top camera extraction pocket be safe? There is not the same security as the rear zip on the back....some attacker "could" get their hands there without us realizing

Regarding the tripod cup sack thing, how does that stabilize a tripod?

Slimming down in breadth and depth and making it more angular as against the more curvy type of the first version is welcomed but increasing the hight makes it too bulky. Wish they retain the height to 47 or 48 cm in this 450 ii version or increase the depth from 18cm to maybe around 20cm in the 350 ii version

Nice bag but talking with many photographers as you guys probably do too, most of them think the 350 is too small and the 450 too big... Lowepro should really consider making a 400 AW!

Newer version of both models: ProTactic II and Whistler II are definitely a great improvement. What is still not fixed - no space for the water blade reservoir. It would be great to make an extra pocket directly between cameras and the back. Reason for this is very simple: when you are skiing or hiking in cold conditions - the only way to keep water not being frozen - to have it closer to the body. Whistler offers a pocket for that, but it is on opposite side. such placement also makes it very difficult to care - because the weight distribution is not optimal. You might want to copy the approach from Photo Sport 300 backpack - adding it to either of these models - then it would be an ideal adventure backpack.

Hi. I have just purchased one and it has arrived today but the stitching is not perfect and is coming apart in various places, do you think its a fake? Also in my country, the product is not officially available in store so had to pay a premium for it around $300 so want to make sure it is an original.

It looks like a Smartwool logo on his left sleeve.

Useless laptop compartment as well as the transparent 2 pockets those attached to the laptop slot. It is hard or impossible to close the rear compartment if you put anything in the Laptop slot, even thinner than a laptop. The middle dividers raised very high and inflexible/rigid that blocks to accommodate a laptop.

But worth an extra $100 over the excellent original? Not seeing it...

I was able to put the first gen under the seat (with some struggles) during some travels

Price is being doubled everywhere it seems
