Pros Ride - Girona with Dan Craven
Спорт
Home to many of the best riders and teams, come to Girona and you're bound to bump into a pro or ten, which is exactly what happened during our latest visit! Not wanting to pass up the opportunity to find out what makes this region such a cycling paradise we're honoured to be joined by Israel Cycling Academy's Dan Craven on a classic loop taking in the climbs of Els Àngels and Santa Pellaia (AKA Hincapie Hill), 64km with over 1,000m of climbing....what's not to love eh?
Start: Girona
Distance: 64km
Highest point: 485m
Elevation gain: 1,031m
Max gradient: 8%

Does anyone else get the feeling, after watching these videos, that you can't live long enough to do all these beautiful roads on earth, and even if you did start young and lived a long healthy life, that you wish there was no fatigue so that you could just ride from morning to night?

very good....I'm 64..ride as much as I can...and long to be out there...I am lucky I can go to the sun in the winter.... ride as many cool places as I can find....on the other hand, I get tremendous motivation when I watch young riders go flying past me....never upsets me....the fact that I CAN pedal keeps my head firmly placed on pure love of being on a bike....nothing feels better, the tried limbs recharge, and you are thinking about that next ride

Yes indeed, few of these riders have family responsibilities, just need to train. To have that free time is priceless, would love to retire in Girona, the culture would be great, food/wine great, biking great....pack the bags.
Do not, and I mean. ..do not ever stop doing these videos 😍😆🤗

Dan seems like a top notch guy. Get back there for Pt. 2!
Fantastic video Mike!
Bravo .... Nicely done!
I did this route a few times when I was there in June, great roads and nice climbs!
In my mind I created a place where bike riders are welcome, with good cafes and incredible bike shops, exciting landscape and friendly people. Then this April I came to Girona - this place does really exist.

Hi guys, you should visit the páramo de letras in colombia the hardest climb in the word!!!
You guys should have a sepia filter on to make it look even more EPIC :)
Anyone want to sponsor an old rider? I can make a flat road seem like I am riding 12 percent
I like these videos if they could do one in Alaska if they can find a road going up a mountain that would be awesome Idaho would be good place for them to go as well
I like Dan From Nam's style.
That looks so inviting👌🏼 @cottydale, @colcollective
10:26 finally I can see your face
Hi Mike, always love the gorgeous video! I don't know if this has been asked before, but anyway; I know you're standing up more often than sitting on the bike :), and thus the gearing choice reflects that, in that I never saw you using more than 34 x 28. However I also know that your Dura-Ace cannot accept larger cassette than a 28, so it's the only option you have. So my question is, when tackling unforgiving slopes like TdF's Circle of Death, or Angliru's wall for example, if you have the choice of larger gearing like 34 x 30 (the new Dura-Ace) or even a 34 x 32, will you use it? Or you'll still stick to what you always use? Thanks!
@TheColCollective

Thanks for the question. I've generally found that the 28 is ok for me. For sure if there's a climb when I think that a 30 or 32 is needed then I'll consider fitting it! Thanks for your support! Mike
I also stopped at the church for the view!

In Dan's interview in Girona, Dan mentioned that Girona is a big draw for pro riders. Is it the location, or is there a particular reason for the pros to be there ?
@TheColCollective
6 жыл бұрын
It comes down to a few factors - great weather, quiet roads, easy airport access and beautiful surroundings.
So sad so many pros have moved to Andorra, mainly for the low taxes.
