    I took my Z to FDLB with horrible o2 sensors. The car ran like a champ and zero working headlights. Los Baños at night was scary while raining. Thankfully I had a friend who was holding the flashlight for about 3 hours at about 45 miles per hour. 🤙 Also I just put 17” RPF1s on the Z and the car feels way faster. The turns are even more fun! Also DE for life!!!

    I would definitely also add the tunability. You can really wake a vq up with a fantastic tune. Which for drifting is very competitive

    Ive heard the revup motor internally is a better motor than the base de. I think its more similar to the hr than the de. Revups get a bad rep only due to the bad piston rings.

    One thing that is hard to find is the "A" piller trim, which is above around the side windows there's no after market replacement for them..if your lucky to find a oem one it's expensive $250-300 for just that piller trim.

    Kids using cheap mods on Zs and Gs ruins their reputation as a whole. They can be great if you find the right parts to it. My dad had an HKS Hi-Power Catback system in his '06 G35. That sounded so nice and clean.

    Burning oil is because people beat the crap out of them got an friend with an 06 rev up it only has 70k miles on it but goes through oil like crazy compared to my 05 90k mile DE that does not consume any oil both tuned on Uprev with bolt on mods the main difference is I don't redline or drive the crap out of the car like my friend does

    Although the gallery gasket will be great for you to replace. If you’ve been hearing a rattle on cold start for years, the gallery gasket may not be your only problem.

    Speaking of sideshows. I got my nalgas chingado by 3 cops. My Z fit the description for sideshows but I was on my way to work. They stereotyped me and damn did I learned that day. I take my dad’s van to work now and days. Cheech and Chong type of van 😎 lol I’m a mountain hugger so if I ever mess up it’ll be moving mountains. But if you buy a Z, keep cool cops see Z’s as easy targets.

    So is it all z that burn oil or is it the 03-06 years that burn alot of oil nd so does 07-08 z do the same ? Im new to this car thats why im asking bc i want to get one

  • @saccityautoparts

    @saccityautoparts

    5 ай бұрын

    Honestly it just due to age. We’ve got 03-06 that are amazing. And we’ve got 07-08 that are great as well. But you do land on a few that just burn more oil than others depending on how the engine has been maintained the past 10-15 years.

    In essence, this video shortly covers the actual Pro and Cons of owning a Z as a drift car. But then quickly turns into bashing people for neglecting their cars. Though I agree with them in short. This really didn't cover much as I thought it would. You didn't really cover suspension geometry. Forward vs side bite or double A arm vs Shock to knuckle. We totally understand that there's people who within specific car communities such as the Z, S, or E chassis, that neglect their vehicle. But it sounds like you're trying to control how people mod their cars over proving what's good about them or not. Pros: strong axles, strong transmission (year dependent), good amount of starting power, double A arm suspension (good for predictability), lots of aftermarket parts, long wheelbase for smoother driving (great for beginners), etc. cons: engines can be unreliable (year dependent), transmission can't hold much power (also year dependent), not amazing rear arm linkage design (poor anti squat), overheats when driven hard (even though it's a sports car), z's are heavy to begin with, they are also very front end heavy, etc. we get that you're into Z's, but the video really has nothing to do with what's good and bad about them. Seems more like gate keeping the community rather than helpful suggestion's.

    Not at all. We work so hard to make sure that quality parts are available to the market. These cars are becoming harder and harder to find clean. So we are promoting clean car culture for the Z & G Market.

    @12:08 "20 yr old etc" couldn't be more wrong, a roached s13 in 2010 was a better car than a 03' Z is in 2023. and jz's were $1800 from jspecauto with R154. I'm all for the z33 platform but you're comparing a numb feeling chassis to a now 30 y/o chassis when a stockish SR car will be more exciting to drive than a stockish VQ.
