I could still remember the days when the a7R 36 megapickles camera was considered high megapickles.

With smartphones doing 48mp now, that might become the new norm

@@jasonvongclipsWith current standard smartphone sensor size more than 12mp is a gimmick like Pixel Shift 240mp on my A7RV

Nikon Z8 / Sony A1 seems to be the current perfect middle ground. 45/50MP is Enough for 8k, good for high res photos, good for low light, excellent for high speed readout Hopefully it will go up in the future

I sold my a7rv and kept the a7cii. It’s also a bit better in low light but now I really want the a7rv for the mp 😩

I have bought many compact lens for my Sony A7cR. Some can resolve 60 megapixels: Sony 24mm f2.8, 40mm f2.5, 50mm f2.5, Zeiss 55mm f1.8. And some just can't resolve such high resolution: 28-60mm f4.5-5.6, Sigma 90mm f2.8. Not sharp lenses make no sense with A7cR, except for video

How does Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 fare on the A7CR?

@@edwood1090 I will buy it in June. But what I have learned is: all old Zeiss lens has a lot of abberations, but the focus area is very sharp. Have tested 55mm f1.8 today. Sharpness of Zeiss 55mm f1.8 is almost equal to 90mm f2.8. But it's 55mm vs 90mm, same distance. 🧐 I also have Zeiss 35mm F1.4, and it's abberations are great for macro flowers, but bad for detailed photos. Zeiss 55mm f1.8 is much-much sharper than Sony 50mm f2.5. So, what I expect from 35mm Zeiss f2.8 is same sharpness as Sony 40mm f2.5 + some abberations

A7CR burns the memory card so quick as well as my HDD.
