    I have binged watched your dread videos in the last 24 hours. I’ve had Synthetics multiple times over the last 15 years of my life, and I’ve always been tempted to go for real. Now I’m 32, had my synths put it again and I’ve decided to just go for it! If I don’t do it now, when will I?! Tiny hooks and metal combs have been bought and my friend roped into doing them for me. So excited! Can I ask what your oil to water/carrier oil ratio is, if you don’t mind me asking that is! I’m terrified of using too much oil and giving myself dread rot or some such!! 😬 (also you are SUPER pretty and remind me of Katie Perry! ❤️)

    I have been watching your dread videos for awhile now. I have always wanted dreads but been to scared to do them. I live in Beaver, Utah where ppl are just judgemental about everything. You and your adorable personality made me realize I just needed to be me. I started tgem about a month ago and was so happy with them till recently. I am starting to doubt myself and think I am doing them wrong all the sudden. I am hoping I am just being hard on myself. Do other ppl go through this?

    For drying your hair skip the Terry cloth towels. Microfiber is AMAZING and will suck out heap of water. If you prefer a natural fiber cloth diapers also work a treat. Not as well as microfiber but better than traditional toweling. Many of us have a microfiber towel with our yoga mats. Try using it to dry your hair. Game changer!!

    I do find it odd that some of the biggest hatters of one's dreads can be other dreadheads.....I mean if anyone knows how hard it can be in the beginning it's them

    I had dreads for 5 years and they were great. The only down of it is people asking me for weed and yes other dreadheads may judge you for length and look of it. Also people gave me a hard time for being white. Other than that i felt powerful and complete.

    How do you respond to people saying you're "culturally appropriating"?

  • @alanilynn2304

    @alanilynn2304

    2 жыл бұрын

    Ignore them- dreadlocks can occur naturally to anyone's hair texture and weren't a historically black thing. Some things are, and there are times to be respectful and understanding when you're called out on it. But this is not one of those circumstances. Just acknowledge them and move on.

    Do you think people who use synthetic dreads are dreadheads? I'm curious what your opinion is on this topic.

  • @IndigoChina

    @IndigoChina

    6 жыл бұрын

    They have the hairstyle, but they're NOT 'dreadheads'. It's like a lady putting a straight haired wig on when her natural hair is curly. She doesn't have straight hair, but her hairstyle is straight hair. Same goes for someone with naturally straight hair rocking some synthetic afro puffs. I hope this helps :) - vegan babe

    Do you like your hair if the answer is yes remember that to use the word Dread means to hate not like and the term comes from slavery try dropping the term dread and just start using loc because locs are awesome

  • @IndigoChina

    @IndigoChina

    6 жыл бұрын

    I've always felt this way about locs! 'dreadlocks' and 'dreads' is such a searchable term compared to locs though, so I personally felt that I had to title and tag my videos with those terms.. but I'll always refer to them as locs :)

    From what I understand dreadlocks came from when other armies would see my people coming at them across the battlefields and their Celtic hair would be matted with war paint and blood and they were "dreaded" because to see them was to see death

    I’m less your English. Then locks are curled or curly hair 🤷‍♀️ and dread means absolutely nothing. It’s kind of like saying some word came from a Latin decent and there for means ‘blah’, thing is tho we live in the now, the present, the modern not way back when. Just a thought 💭

    U just said: your hair’s not meant to be silky?! I beg to differ. Your hair isn’t meant to be twisted & ripped & snarled up. But those who do it obviously have their own reasons for doing this to themselves. I’ll certainly never fully understand it. 🤷‍♀️
