Your decision to move the spare tire to the other side has worked out well. Escapade should take note and consider adding a propane tank mount in the area that you did for heater and stove access. I just bought one of these heaters and had no idea what to do to install it. Thank you for posting this. Now I know where to begin. Also, I was told that any propane lines inside must be metal.I am going to try and run a short metal gad pipe down underneath with a quick release connector on the end.

Thanks for the video. I’m also in Colorado and been planning to install a propex heater when they are back in stock. Quick question when you tested it out any issue with condensation in your trailer?

Hi Eric, yes there was a bit of condensation, but not as much as you would have with a buddy heater or similar since it is dry air blowing into the camper.

Thanks for doing this video, you just made up my mind on getting this heater. I just finished up building my camper a couple months ago I had been using a 12 volt heated mattress pad, but only get about a night and a half out of my battery. But I'm going to try setting my heater in a tongue box with the rest of my utilities. Do you think I'd have any issues doing this?

It was just a master lock from Home Depot, plenty to choose from!

If you are talking about the connection directly from the hose to the unit, it is the BPST to NPT adapter that I have listed in the description below the video.

Know im years late lol but was wondering how the adapter held up? I set up some1/4 copper pipe last winter and had constant leaking issues but couldnt find the right adapter to hook it up to a regular propane hose. The manual says its a 5/16 bspt but I couldnt find one of those on mastercarr so I ordered the one you linked hope it works!

So sorry I haven't replied, but we sold the camper quite a while ago, so I do not have that info for you.

Does the exhaust vents have some form of screen to keep wasps out during the summer? also my outdoor rug blew up against my exhaust pipe and it shut off. It would be good to show how to reset the propex. i didn't know how to do it and didn'tt have internet.

No, the exhaust does not have a screen, but you could easily add one.

That looks like a very sharp turn for the exhaust pipe as it exits the cabinet and goes over the leveller. Did that work out for you? I ran into a problem where water condensed into the bend of mine, giving me many fault lights. Eventually it refused to start (non blinking red light), and I'm having a dickens of a time fixing it!

Hi Susan, I never had a problem, it didn’t really seem like a sharp bend. Unfortunately I don’t have the escapade anymore but again…I never had a problem while using it.

Thanks for the video! One thing im really struggling with is the mcMaster Car part. I cannot for the life of me tell the difference between the BSP and NPT sides. I'm wondering if I was just sent the wrong part because I've done every single check possible and can't find the difference between the sides. I'm mostly wondering if this was an issue for you. How were you able to tell the difference?

BSP and NPT threads are angled differently. NPT threads are angled at 60 degrees where BSP are angled at 55 degrees. You should be able to thread the BSP side pretty easily into the propex. When did you get your Propex? There may be a chance that they now have a version for North America with the correct threads that you may now have.

I just got mine from van cafe like 3 weeks ago. Either side of my adapter screws in easily to the propex. I’ve not read anything about propex now using NPT but let me know if you’ve read that somewhere! I know that the NPT side is supposed to be at more of an angle but to the naked eye I can’t see a difference at all. I’m worried I’m going to damage the propex if I use the wrong side 😢

How much propane does it use a night? How many amp draws? I want run it off grid on a 100 ah AGM battery. Use for roof top tent.

Just got back from a night with the temperature around 8F. Furnace was on and off all night and I believe we could get 4-5 nights out of a 20lb tank. Woke up with 90% battery on 200ah

It is the Power Tank BKT-2286. I bought it on Amazon but is no longer available for the 11lb tank. You may be able to find it elsewhere. Hope this helps!

Not sure how much it matters, but if heat rises wouldn’t it be heat up your camper more efficiently if the output vent was mounted lower down? Your exhaust is also right beneath your kitchenette, would this be an issue when cooking?

We don’t have this camper anymore, but the inside is so tiny any amount of heat will make it a furnace no matter where you put it. If you put it lower, pillows will cover the output. Also when you’re outside cooking, there is no reason to have the heat on.

Hey man, I just gotta ask, if you're still around that is. I can see in the video at 4 minutes, that you used an adapter that you say is 1/4", when the gas input female thread on the heater is 5/16ths. How the heck does that work? Did you use a 5/16ths adapter instead?

Well uh, I don't want to sound like a jerk by pointing this out, but I did show the process of hooking it up to battery? It is a powered furnace, so not sure how it would work otherwise.

While I agree that this is important in any enclosed camper, this heater does not specifically add risk as it is a sealed system
