I agree Peter. Live in Delaware too. We really thought about moving but once we did the math. No way would we leave what we have in DE. Maybe rent in the winter 🥶!

I've been single in the Villages. My twin moved back to NC because of her health. I miss her being her old self.

I can't manage the ice in the North now. I miss the snow and fall leaves. Hard to leave friends but over time a lot have passed away. Old age is full of change. Many new people move to new places in the Villages. Smaller or larger places, etc. I love my villa being single. New people keep very busy doing so much. 60 is young in the Villages so they are active.

It’s so fun to see you with your twin . Please model your twin outfits . We are residents of The Villages and would love to run into you both someday , Because it’s all your fault we are here . ❤️ no regrets . We are having the time of our lives . We also grew up in Indiana . Keep doing your show we love you both . Gods blessings to you .

So nice to see your sister. It must be hard living so far apart. My husband's nephews are fraternal twins and except for a few university years have always lived in the same town. Now in their early 40's, they live in the same townhouse complex (and their wives are like sisters. It's so nice to see)

My Homeowner's insurance in Louisiana is $4000 a year and my flood is $2300. We have never had a flood claim, but did have a roof claim after Hurricane Ida. I do know folks who were just informed their Homeowner's insurance will be $13,000 a year and they have never had an insurance claim. People in our state are losing their homes because they can't pay the insurance. It's scary. Linda, you and Connie are simply precious!

I lost my sister to colon cancer at age 40! I lost my best friend that day! You and your sister are so beautiful! I just love your show! Thank you for sharing your family with all of us!

I almost got taken in by a company coming by and asked to inspect my roof. I was saved by my one of my good neighbors, Jan She came over and warned me that I should not let them do that because they will convince you ( or even pull up some tiles so it looks damaged) that you need a new roof whether you need one or not. I'm so grateful to my neighbor because I had no idea about that practice. Sorry I missed this special edition live! I always went for 7 days ( 3 times) with the Lifestyle visit. Twice in August and once in May. That was back in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Great show Jerry and Linda. Enjoy you two always! ❤❤

The same insurance in Miami is easily 3X as much as Orlando. Property taxes would easily be $1000 per month. So…$20,000 per year for taxes and insurance if you live anywhere near the water.

Insurance is expensive everywhere but after losing our home to a fire this year you realize why because it cost a fortune to rebuild!

I have Progressive Insurance and my premiums just went up over $600. It is ridiculous trying to deal with The Village insurance

They need to hold builders accountable. I know people that have had fairly new homes and they had roof damage from Hurricanes. Some of the builders have been known to skip entire steps when installing roofs.

We were able to take a 5 day lifestyle visit in July 2022. It’s between 4 and 7 days.

In 2022, my insurance was cancelled because the roof was too old at 20 years. I was told insurance companies were giving cement tile roofs up to 20 years with shingle roofs up to. 14. Until,I had a new roof, no insurer would insure. So, new roof placed on. Then September 28 2023 came along and brought a punk named IAN. I live very close to Ft. Myers. There were some tiles damaged, screens ripped off the lanai area, fences down, etc., damages didn’t meet the the 2 percent deductible.,that came out of pocket. Then there were assessments throughout the community totally 5,000 for clean up, downed trees, etc. At 8 and one half above sea level, I’m obligated to have flood insurance. Terrified to see what my insurance will be this year. Mike was right about assignment of benefits and lawyers getting involved. While my roof was 27,000 the people next door gave assignment of benefits to their contractor. Their roof, same house, smaller area, 75,000. For those who live here full time,homesteading helps with taxes. P.s. there should be an edit button in this comment section. :)

We had intended to at least stop by and meet you both in person or bump into you out somewhere during our visit this past week to TV but we simply ran out of minutes. We enjoyed our stay and definitely see the draw. Have a spectacular 2023! On a funny note the terrain and flora are totally different than our current home in SW FL and I understand why so many midwesterners feel comfortable there. It looked and felt like a warmer KY. 😊

I call my insurance agent every year to find the best rates for home and auto. Insurance premiums are getting out of hand especially if you live in a hurricane zone.

After 34 years in the same house in FL, with no hurricane damage, no flooding and no claims made, I decided it was time to drop my homeowners' insurance and self-insure. May look into a (much cheaper) liability insurance if that makes sense.

We have a lot of British who come here too.

The new laws that are being enacted in regards to Florida Home Owner's Insurance all benefit the Insurance Companies and do nothing to help the consumer access to better rates or protections.

Here in south Central PA, our homeowners policy is $425 annually and includes flood insurance and sewage back up. $1200 plus is three times what we pay. I find that hard to justify. Thanks for sharing.
