Fantastic...thank you for showing how to properly set the gaskets and how to do the stock oil filter replacement job in general. I could see why people convert those to the spin-on version for convenience. But, I really appreciate seeing how the original stock design works and how to properly service that design. Does it help to put a light coat of silicone sealer on the flat gaskets and should the copper gaskets between bolt & canister be changed periodically? Thanks, very informative videos.

No you shouldn't use any silicone on the gaskets. They have to be changed every time and leftover silicone will just cause leaks later. I only change the metal washers if they start leaking, but only had that happen one time.
