Criminally underated band, at least where I am. Bad Religion and Propagandhi are perfect for anyone who wants to get into political music, but doesnt want to spend the whole time cringing from the lyrics.

Best Band on the planet. It's not close. This is maybe their best record. Can't believe they keep getting better.

Just saw em in Los Angeles tonight, first time ever, I usually have to travel to OC or Pomoy to see them. Propagandhi is honestly probably the best band ever. Each album they keep showing they're musically just better than everyone else out there.
I know Nigredo isn't the most conventional Propagandhi song, but I found it incredibly powerful and it's one of my favorite songs on the record.

@@mikeg3950 When Your Fears Collide made the hair on my arms stand up when I first heard it. Todd's songs on this album are very powerful and very emotional. His vocal performance really hammers it home too.
Why had i never heard of this band?! They're like a Canadian Bad Religion! Loved that review. Thanks for a new band discovery

I can honestly say I’ve seen Propagandhi at a gig with less than 30 people in attendance . I don’t really listen to punk anymore but THIS album I will check out.

I would watch you review a cardboard box.
Loads of headbangers started out listening to hardcore punk. People only call Propagandhi a "punk" band because they have records out on infamous shit parades like Fat Wreck Chords and Epitaph etc. They're popularly associated with that whole tedious SoCal world of goofy 90s skate punk bands but they were never part of it if you get right down to it. No Warped Tours, no Converse sneaker endorsements, none of that stupid horseshit. Lyrically you get Priest references, King Diamond references, Venom references, Sacrifice references, Voivod references. Musically they're closer to some kind of hardcore/heavy metal weirdness than generic punk rock. They did a couple of early records that sound closer to punk but that's true of heaps of 'pure' metal bands too. They're only a 'punk' band to people who accept anything that Fat Mike tells them is punk. And spoiler alert, that guy just wants your money.
Propaghandi has always been a different breed of punk/rock......in a good way and they.maintained to stay underground there good at what they do and its different.then most.generic bands out there for a change.
Fantastic album. Glad to see you guys covering them. :)
Even as much as I don't like propaganda bands at times. This reviewer can make me like Any band.

Propagandhi is a flawless band. Even their lyrics from How to Clean Everything are still relevant. Thanks for giving punk some love guys, I really hope Propagandhi is added to the punk branch in the family tree, they have a lot of metal influences.

Clayton Biscalchini fave band of all time
For sure one of the best albums of the year. Killer all the way,
One of my favorite bands for years.
I've seen a lot of metal heads diss punk music and i can never get my head around why. Good punk rock like Propagandhi, Pennywise, NOFX and Hot Water Music is full of energy, tight riffs and galloping drums - a lot of the same qualities which good metal has. Anyway, funny ass review as usual, keep 'em coming!

you forgot to mention the whiny vocals and overly political lyrics that get boring very fast
@spiderjerusalem100

Whiny vocals, i'm assuming you mean stuff like Green Day and Blink 182. Those kinds of bands are the punk equivalent of metal bands like 5 finger death punch and Avenged sevenfold, don't let them put you off there's some cool shit out there.
@thenotsoguitarguy9429

Serpico's Beard I definitely agree. There is some whiny, snotty shit out there in punk land. Also, though, there's shit out there like NOFX's The Decline, which I challenge anyone to listen to and not dig. Also, check out bands like Echonochrist or Born Against. Also bands like SNFU, or Bad Religion (3/4 of whose long and storied catalogue is totally fucking rad). Never understood the divide between punk and metal, either. Big fan of both.

For me it's the vocals and the lack of groove. I have nothing against punk in theory but I haven't heard much of it that I enjoy cause of the vocal and rhythmic style.

Not to mention the examples he mentioned above is the minority. Punk bands are more about idealism rather than technique, melodies, and instrumentation...ya know ...music. They come off as slightly juvenile to me...
First time watching anything from this channel, hugely entertaining review
Holy shite where'd you get that Born Against shirt? I want I want. I'm from Virginia and they are a punk staple down there. especially when they moved to Richmond
More reviews from Blayne - they are all so great!
Honestly i havent really been into propagandhi since potemkin city limits and supporting caste, (both of which are amongst my all time favourite albums), but this review got me amped to give this new album a go, thank you banger, thank you Blayne.
I remember getting "How To Clean Everything" when it first came out and it's a damn good release that still holds up. I honestly had no idea they were still around because I haven't really 'kept up' with the punk scene over the years but it's cool to hear they're still kickin'. Just might have to check this one out....
good review dude
I remember seeing them at Lucy's records in Nashville in like '97 or so. It was great.
best band that ever existed! I can tell u love them too cause of the born against tee. only true fans like yourself know what I'm talking about! ;)

This is a really cool review! Plus this is the best punk band of all time in my opinion. Great album start to finish. Great review going in and out of audio clips from the album! 10/10 for both!
More melody in this batch of songs, I’m enjoying it!
Thumbs up for that Born Against Shirt...long not seen one...
I'm normally not a fan of modern punk, but this is impressive. Also, nice shout out to the bass player 👌
Anyone know where that bridge is at? Looks like one where I live.
That dog umbrella!!! Punk was my first love before metal even but from what I heard this isn't my kind of punk I prefer dead boys, filth, Johnny thunders, anti nowhere league etc.
if you think Propagandhi doesn't deserve to be reviewed in a metal channel, listen to the song "Failed States" or "Night Letters". If you don't think Propagandhi is Punk, listen to "Hadron Collision" or "Purina Hall of Fame" and get back to me.
Blayne, you get me interested in these bands thanks to you're reviews. I love it man. I don't listen to punk. But I'm checking out this album.
IN the band photo early on SuLynne has got a Voivod t-shirt and Rod is wearing a Suffocation t-shirt

I'm happy to see metal heads being exposed to a punk band that's this hard. I've lived them since the 90s and thank you for promoting them!
You guys totally spaced out on the New Contortionist album Clairvoyant.
I love this album... but I love Propagandhi... so..
*Who would dislike a Propagandhi review? People must lack knowledge of over-all modern crossover fueled skatepunk with classic metal stylings. Propagandhi shreds, and is an instant legendary act that will go down in history. They are silence Canadian dudes/chick that are as calm as a sloth, but absolute ANNIHILATE their guitars when they perform, im pumped up to see them; they're coming to Vegas, and im looking forward to it.* btw Great Review!!
The only failure of this album is it should have been called Victory Lapse. I would have liked that.
I like punk and heavy metal bands, but PROPAGANDHI ain't my style, though I do see the appeal they have. Great review, Blayne!

It's nice to see some punkish reviews. The band has a lot of metal in their music, it's like Anarcho Punk Metal, nice band, nice review. Maybe this is a start of more punk metal, crust and hardcore reviews and topics! Cheers
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you guys dipped th ball slipping over Elder's last effort! All good though, keep up the good work.
what a great fucking review.
queue mandatory punk vs metal comments on literally EVERY propagandhi video xD

Another great review from Blayne, love this guy he is so awesome
Love the record and love Blayne's comedy and wit during his reviews - keep up the good work buddy!
Your fucking hilarious. Great review
Laughed all the way through this.
BangerTV's "All Metal Always" tag doesn't seem so accurate anymore. The Venom poster hanging on the wall in the music video is cool, though. While I'm nitpicking, it'd be nice if the band's name were spelled correctly on the song title overlays.

Thanks for the feedback. Ya, we're doing penance for the typo. As for punk v. metal on the channel, with 2 reviews a week now we're aiming to cover more Canadian bands, and throwing in some surprises to see what our viewers respond to. Don't worry there will always be plenty of metal here!

Hilarious review! Granted this is not my kind of music but I have to ask why this record? When there is so many new metal albums that have not been reviewed.
Never thought of them as punk. Too much "good" musicianship involved, which is sort of antithetical to punk. But, definitely not metal of course. Sort of a mix of a bunch of things with a hard edge. That being said it's good stuff. Solid release. Great review.

Great band. Fusion of punk, hardcore, and metal
Dude cracks me up!!

Like the songs but don't know if this would be close to punk. Also where did you get that dog umbrella?
A lot of metal heads tend to be pretty shallow in their musical diversity, so it's great to see a punk rock review in here...even if it is poppy punk. Don't get me wrong, I've liked Propaghandi since the mid 90s, but would love to see more raw punk rock stuff or at least Crossover...yes, more crossover please! The Accused! Toe Tag! Lich King!
