Another day of life, I was drifting off in thought but I can't escape this nightmare very long. Young girls flag the johns who troll the block in circles, waiting for their moment to take the plunge. All of us crossing paths. We're all in the same place but it seems we're living in parallel worlds. I try to imagine the predator's stinking breath, his body against mine, the foulness when he's spent. All of us passing by. Somewhere in the alleys of our minds we all have our secret worlds. Some are haunted by memories, some have an impulse to be cruel, and they're watching intently to see who they can use. You don't know who's a freak, and on this street they're out here lurking all the time. Amidst the swirling snow I saw a friend out jonesing and cold, she was pacing and waiting alone for an unknown. I guess that life has taken its toll. The vultures circle close. At any moment we might slip and fall. The jackals are waiting, waiting for us all.

A little more to it than that I imagine. They are from Winnipeg and it is a very depressing and torturous life for many young women, especially native women. The obvious theme is prostitution but it is also how fine the line is between a good life and a bad life and how those on the "good" side see the bad side and try to ignore it out of fear it will suck them in and chew them up. We are all just one bad decision away from having our lives altered forever.

Gran canción. Mi nivel de ingles no me permite traducir todas las canciones de Propagandhi, pero cuando logro traducir una canción y entender su significado me siento realmente bien. Esta canción tiene una letra muy profunda. Todd percibe estos mundos que se encuentran dentro de otros mundos y como es increíble la forma en que conviven... de alguna manera es aterrador. En cuanto a lo musical, este disco primero me parecio aburrido, tarde un tiempo en captar su esencia, pero me termine convenciendo de que es un gran trabajo.

One of their best songs. If you didn't realize the song is about really young girls as prostitutes and being picked up and perhaps murdered.

If you want simpler punk that sounds the same there are hundreds of bands, nay, thousands of bands to choose from.

This song haunts me so much. Every time I hear of a tragedy, I try to "imagine the predators stinking breath"... or even "the gun mans barrel against my head" or whatever news headline flashes past. This is a song about the panic stricken parent wandering a school parking lot after a shooting or losing their kid. I love this song but dread its message...
