PROMO:5 ANCESTOR FIST WITH MASTER BOH

Спорт

Thanks to the Martial Man (www.themartialman.com) we had the great honour to get in touch with a very unique and special type of Kung Fu, inherited by Master Yap Boh Heong.
The Wuzuquan (Chinese 五祖 拳 "Five Ancestors", English Five Ancestors Kung Fu) is a South Chinese martial art and thus belongs to the school direction of Nanquan (南拳 "Southern Boxing").
The 5-Ancestors Style owes its name to the influences of the following five older styles of Chinese boxing and practices:
Neigong: Da-mo (達 尊 拳)
Skills of Luohan Boxing: (羅漢拳)
Skills of Taizu Boxing: (太祖 拳)
Elements of the White Crane Style: (白鹤 拳)
Agility and Footwork of Monkey Boxing (猴拳)
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn from Master Yap Boh Heong, who will be holding several retreats and workshops in the Shaolin Temple Europe also in 2020 again:
· 08. May - 10. May 2020 (3-Days): Yan Shou Gong (Nei Gong)
· 11. May - 16. May 2020 (6-Days): 5 Ancestors Fist (Kung Fu)
Every year there are several retreats that are taking place in the Shaolin Temple Europe 歐洲少林寺, the monastery where I am living.
A retreat can either be a 3-day Retreat (Friday - Sunday) or a 6-day Retreat (Monday - Saturday). Every retreat is held under a specific topic, such as: Gong Fu, Qi Gong (e.g. Ba Duan Jin, Yi Jin Jing, 13 Luohan), Meditation retreats and Rou Quan retreats.
If you are interested in joining any of these retreats, please take a look at all dates that are published on the website of the monastery:

Hello, @Catsincages. There are a lot of similarities between Wuzuquan (太祖 拳) and Baihequan (白鹤拳). Both have roots in Taizuquan (太祖拳). What's more, Wuzuquan also contains elements of Baihequan, as the latter is one of the five ancestral systems referred to in the name "Five Ancestor Fist". So there is a lot of similarity in terms of the squareness of the posture and the whip-like motions of the arms. Indeed, the hand techniques of Wuzuquan come primarily from Baihequan. However, Wuzuquan is also heavily influenced by Monkey and Luohan, another two of the five ancestral systems. The fifth ancestral system is not a combat system. It is the internal training techniques of Damo (达摩). What's more, the specific style of Wuzuquan taught by Master Yap is that of the late Master Chee Kim Thong and it is further heavily influenced by the Wumei (伍枚 ) and Wuji (无极) systems that Master Chee learned in addition to Wuzuquan. These influences lend a softness and fluidity to Master Chee's Wuzuquan that I have not seen in other styles of Wuzuquan. I hope this helps. Kind regards. Declan Chellar

I encountered Yap Boh before and wondered if it was real. Seeing it performed on Shi however leaves little room for doubt. I do wonder why it is never performed in a serious sparring match. I think it would prove difficult to use.

    who are you?
