This is why I love youtube, and having this community. I guess I've always heard crappy exhaust VQ's. Looked up some of the mentioned exhausts, and I have to say, they can sound pretty decent!

Taylor Ray I'm from the tampa area and I'm on my 2nd Vq motor. They have a distinct rumble/Chewbacca sound that can sound amazing. The issue is everyone buys cheap test pipes that ruins the sound of the motor. I understand this is a beater and you don't care too much about sound, but look up art pipes with hks or motordyne tue dual exhaust. Hands down the perfect combination and they make more power than straight through test pipes and a single exit exhaust.

Yeah dude, with the right set up I think they can sound amazing. But they definitely can sound pretty bad if they have a weird exhaust or straight piped. Every engine can sound a little bit weird or not desirable with certain setups

I totally agree I’m from Scotland (uk) too and this is defo my favourite car based channel as its all chilled and very real instead of the forced crap you see on most channels (its like its scripted) Taylor is just him doing stuff that he wants and needs to do without too much thought into how he can make everything 10000 miles an hour just chill do it your way and let us watch keep it up Taylor and I for one will keep up watching your videos every upload!

Taylor I know it’s been said but I have to reiterate; your video quality is some of the best I have ever seen. So much effort goes into each shot and it shows. Keep up the great work man!

I can't wait until Taylor has his own shop with a lift and all the tools he needs. Crazy fab stuff in the future it seems like, picking up welding really well. When you do have some extra time, maybe do a challenge where you try to fab up your own tube front/rear and bash bars on the 350z. Maybe a drift kart later on? Would be entertaining and a good way to experience building a cage for cheap.

Jayden Deane I have owned my e46 for 8 years it’s got 217 thousand hard miles. With that being said I have never had a sub frame issue. I have a 2001 325xi. Tune intake exhaust 255hp all motor so it’s not like it’s not getting a beating. I think the subframe issue effected a few higher horsepower e46s like the 330xi. Also if you drift and do burnouts in any car over time the subframe WILL be damaged.

personally i'm a big fan of the VQ sound. Very unique and one of the better sounding V6 engines in my opinion. Obviously you can''t match a straight 6 sound.

I love when people shit talk on VQ's. They are an amazing engine and imo they are the LS of the 6 cylinder options. Me and lots of people i know think they sound amazing and its ironic, most people love GTRs sound.... its a modified VQ....

Hey Taylor look into copper spoons or bronze spoons for welding with gaps they allow u to weld the gap without worry really .

I use red hi-temp RTV on all my exhaust flanges, even headers. Ive had glowing red hot v8 headers and it takes the abuse beautifully. 10/10 would recommend

It’s rad your your self taught, it takes lots of trial and error. Keep it up not all home fabricators dropped dimes right away. Your channel I feel helps people/my self to find the confidence to wrench on their on cars. 👍🏼

@ 3:19 there is a little pull down tab on the rear sway bar that you pull to do it from the inside of the car to pop the trunk

Taylor, when you are welding something that thin to something more thick, try to focus more of the arc (heat) into the flange. Your welds got hot, and you can tell because they are grey. If you are running at the right amps and have a good travel speed along with enough gas it will have colors in it. I love your content man keep it up! CLEAN YOUR METAL!!!!
