Congratulations Xbox One fans, that looks like a fantastic product, and an amazing console. Hopefully this means Sony now tries to catch up in terms of hardware to Scorpio. I mainly game on my PS4 and see no reason to upgrade to the pro. A healthy competitive spirit is a good thing for the consumer. Yeah Microsoft needs exclusives, but for me personally, 99% of the games I play are 3rd party multi-platform, so it doesn't really bother me. I want the Scorpio for the simple reason that games will look and run better on it than on the PS4... Period.

I have a gaming PC with a 1080 GPU. Record 4k 60 fps with shadowplay is very stressful on my pc. It's just nice to have another option.

Now if we can get the PC to run "games" at all settings at HIGH and 4K 60 FPS consistently without having to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars. That would be a real feat.

Dude, I just bought the xbox 1 like 2 years ago. I usually expect consoles to last for 5 to ten years before they come out with a new model. However, if this thing will be able to handle all the games from the xbox 1, the 360, AND the original xbox, then I will not only buy it, I will preorder it. which is something I never do anymore.

OMG I wish! Bring splitscreen back to our favorite games and fuck off with the 60fps. Will it be nicer with better graphics and stuff, sure, but my family and I want to play together and don't give a damn about graphics. If it's a good game, it's a good game. Graphics are a bonus, not a requirement.

Rodney Mugwara It can run forza 6 at native 4k 60 with xbox one setting's once they had extra visual fidelity the resolution will drop, the console isn't powerful enough to run a game like HZD at 4k 60, not a chance.

ATH3X G consider that the PS4 Pro has 2 tflops less than the Scorpio and 5gb less vram, a weaker processor etc, with the addition of console optimization, a game with similar graphical strength as hzd on the Scorpio will likely run at 60fps

Rodney Mugwara​ no it won't, the cpu is based on Jaguar tech at 2.3ghz the pro runs at 2.1ghz, anyway HZD was designed for the standard Ps4 no one will ever know how it could have run.

It would be really cool if they could provide players with the option to not only toggle between 4k/30fps and 1080p/60fps (if required for certain games) but also the ability to run at 1080p/60fps while up scaling to 4k which should look significantly better than the one currently utilised for the Xbox One S without causing too much of an impact on performance.

I'm a PlayStation guy through and through, but you absolutely have to commend Microsoft's commitment to letting you play your entire game library on one console. I only really started playing (and buying) games regularly when I got my PS4, so it's a shame that I have to either wait for remasters or just give up on playing a lot of the classics (it's especially cruel that they remastered God of War 3 for the PS4 but not the other two).

Why always so much focus on graphics, while gameplay is still the most important element.

Congrats all the Xbox players. I hope you enjoy the new console.

Except the PlayStation has games and graphics. There are numerous exclusives for the PlayStation, but hardly any for the xbox. Exclusives are one of the deciding features of a console. What's the point of having a powerful console when you can get another one that is slightly less powerful, but has many more games to play.

Really? ps4 has the last of us, all 4 Uncharted games, horizon zero dawn, God of war 3, Every Kingdom Hearts, and Ratchet and Clank. that's just the ones I can think of now. There will also be crash bandicoot and the new God of war coming out soon. The only exclusives I can think of for xbox is halo, gears of war, and forza. I know there are more but surely there aren't as many as PS. Are PlayStation exclusives coming to pc too? I thought it was only xbox exclusives.

Uncharted are all shit, Horizon Zero Dawn is another rehashed open world game reminiscient of every game Ubisoft (I know they're not the devs) has made in the past 7 years or so. God of War is a mediocre Hack and Slash, it's not even in the top 8 of the ones I can personally think of including a more recent entry, Nier. Kingdom hearts is well...a poor excuse for an RPG as a whole there's tons better it's RPG lite like Skyrim but at least Skyrim has a selling point. Ratchet and Clank is....well...boring, for the same reason Crash Bandicoot, that type of extremely simply gameplay with nothing else as a selling point is mostly dead. "There aren't as many as PS" So? PC has literally thousands of exclusives, if you are in any way choosing a platform on the....well...PLATFORM...of exclusives, then why would you choose anything but a PC? when you could build a $400 one that runs like current consoles anyway?

i love it. i am a longtime and part-time pc gamer, i have a life outside of gaming, mostly singleplayer games, and i just sold my old pc build and ready for a new one come winter when i get time to play more. i just wanted to play on 4k big screen in actual 4k and in order to do this with pc it takes huge cash and while i have enough to do a 3-4k build id really rather use that cash for my other hobbies like rc planes, camping, shooting and ect ie-savings. I just couldnt justify staying with pc because of cost and the little time i have to game. I was looking into xbox one because of this and im moving to ultra bluray for movies, streaming just hasnt got to uhd quality and service is never 100% so the xbox one has the ok gaming and its a bluray player. did some research and found out the one isnt the greatest for true bluray quality with disc and i just happened to see something about Scorpio last night and knew this was the answer. so far the talk on it is amazing, of course pc fanatics will dismiss but it looks like the future of gaming may just be consoles and this is a great start. i have a laptop and smartphone for all my other uses with pc so gaming was the only reason to go crazy on money mainly because the industry still hasnt found a way to game at true 4k without breaking bank with gpus and futureproofing and im sick of the pc industry forcing us to play on monitors when i can just by a new 4k hdr tv, choice of oled although its too spendy now and nothing wrong with newer led tech. So now I can throw aside 500 for the Scorpio and another 300 or so for games and ect and be ready when these are released for xmas or before this year instead of putting at least 3k away for pc and another 500 or so for new game chair and ect. one can mod on xbox one so the Scorpio should have tons of mods for my fav games in time plus u can play all xbox games from all models on Scorpio. my living room is dedicated to a few of my other hobbies, turntable setup and my rc planes and ect, no tv as most my family and friends dont come over to watch tv because we tend to either play poker or go out. not a sports fan and most i know are not into that pedestrian activity so my new ent hub will be my bedroom and my new king bed the gaming/movie chair. laying down is tons healthier than sitting and its usually just me or my gf. i never thought id go back to console after almost 15 years with pc gaming but here it is. great option for game enthusiasts who dont want to spend thousands upon thousands on pc. come on e3!

I still have that Day One Xbox One and this is going to be a nice upgrade, I was going to buy the Xbox one S when announced then they announced the Scorpio. Sooooo I decided just to wait it out and upgrade my TV, now sit and wait for this beauty to come out. Gaming since 1989 and still loving it.

I own a ps4 and if the scorpio is better then so be it. If people want to play on Xbox then so be it, it doesn't affect me in the slightest, I'll still get to plat good games in all that stuff. Whatever platform you use to play video games is fine because there are pros and cons for each and a person's preference of what that platform is shouldn't affect you personally, it shouldn't resort to fanboyism cause all that creates is ignorance and stubbornness. It doesn't matter whether you play ps4, xbox, switch, pc, vr, mobile, whatever. What does matter is that we can all sit back and enjoy these great things called video games no matter what device is used. We are all gamers and whatever you use to play your games i hope you enjoy whatever console or platform you use to play them just like i hope you wish for me to enjoy mine on my ps4 because honestly a difference in these things just shouldn't matter in the long run

A GTX 1060 can run games at 4k. Will it run them at max, no. Will it run them all at 60 fps, no. But it runs at 4k, which is what people are arguing about here. I'm not trying to argue, but just saying, you don't need a 1080Ti or a Titan Xp to run games at 4k.

I love how Richard (a massive tech nerd) is excited about what he's seen, that bodes very well for Microsoft and it's consumers going forward. Looking forward to seeing the box. Wonder what they will call it?

Summer 2016, Microsoft says: "We are the most powerful console ever. And we thought about developers when building it." They show a video of both employees, and third party developers, testifying of the system. April 2017, DF reveals the specs and their experience, noting that Turn 10 ported their game in 2 days (remarkable), and without optimization, with full cars on the track, 4k Ultra Art and graphics, at a stable 4K 60 fps, with only 66 % GPU usage. 2 DAYS to get it working (Not months). UWP, and this console, are a developers dream. So many complaining about, "But where are the games." But Microsoft has made a gaming dev platform unrivaled by Nintendo or Sony, we haven't even gotten to E3 yet, the console doesn't come out until Holiday 2017, and people are complaining about lack of games. What is most important, is that the testimony of developers about this console has been extremely enthusiastic, and they are the people making the games. Why not be patient, and wait until games are shown in this system in 2 months in July, and then another 6 weeks after at Gamescom? Or do people just want to find negative things to say?

Yes, there are a lot of great games on previous generation consoles, but after a while, people get bored of those games. So, then they decide to make these new games for people to enjoy, there's nothing wrong with creating a system that will perform better and look better along the way. :)

+megamcee they customized it heavily. streamlined it to use dx12 in a way normal pc parts simply can not do. watch the digital foundry video explaining it all. From what they did with forza, running it at 4k ultra at 60 fps with no optimization just gives u a small glimpse at what is to come.

Or are you so cleverly trying to point out that Xbox exclusives are now also on PC for cross play? Because last time I checked Xbox is owned by Microsoft and Microsoft has the most popular operating system on the planet in which PC's are built for. I've been very happy with my Xbox One for a while now. Scorpio will be a nice upgrade that will instantly let me keep playing everything I had been playing up to the point where I bring one home. More importantly, it allows folks such as myself to have all the benefits of a good pc + a 4k blu-ray player in a tidy package that my wife approves of (and allows in the living room). I'm doing the same thing with my XB1 now. I'm holding out for this over an XB1S because the only thing I'd need the S for now is the 4k player.

I feel like this dude is breaking multiple NDAs...

MS killed it with this. Really makes the 'Pro' look like an ancient bit of irrelevance. Great work MS, day one buy.

I've never been hyped to buy a new console, wasn't particularly hyped for my (at the time) high-end PC when I built it, maybe a bit excited for my Surface Pro 4 when I got it (yeah, another MS product, I know). This... this kinda has me excited. It may not hold the same all year, but I like what I'm seeing.

These are the reasons. 1-To watch Netflix. 2-To watch movies. 3-To play same games you played already but now 4K. 4-To make videos about it an up to KZread. 5-To show off a piece of remarkable overpowered piece of technology. 6-British accent gibberish. 7-More British accent gibberish.

This video was meant to tell you what it can do so that the tech minded among us know just what's in it. Sony doesn't need to release another mid-generation console. They've got a larger player base, and they've got what is widely seen as a better catalog. Games drive sales, not specs. The most powerful console only "wins" the "console wars" when they have the games to go with it. The PS2, for example, definitely wasn't the most powerful console of its day and it's arguably the most successful console ever.

I realized to sorta replicate an Xbox you need a Blu-Ray reader, so I replaced the DVD writer that I had in there with a Blu-Ray reader. Pricing is still below 1,000 bucks, though.

+Jak Smith I don't know what to say... That's just simply wrong. Everything in the list is either as good as Project Scorpio's counterpart, or better. Especially the GTX 1080 makes a heck of a difference, because at 9 Tflops of performance it is simply a lot better than the Scorpio's chip. But if you'd just tell me in which parts of my list you think Scorpio is better, I will address that in another comment.

JustusLM 12GB RAM, but lets be honest the gtx 1080 isnt going to be running high graphical games in a year or so at the quality you want, why waste so much money in one go and then have to upgrade? +Jak Smith It has 12GB GDDR5 RAM that is shared with the GPU. THE PC in my list has 8GB of DDR4 DRAM and 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM, making a total of 16GB. Since not all of the VRAM will be used in most games though, they will both end up with about 8GB of RAM that is not for the GPU. However, GDDR5 is VRAM and not DRAM, explaining the difference would take to long, but I can tell you that for what it is used, DDR4 is better than GDDR5. If you want I'll try to find a video that explains it and link it in yet another comment. And about the future path of the PC, well, it all depends on which graphical quality you want. You shouldn't forget that Project Scorpio's GPU will be aging, too. If the console graphics of todays games represent "high" settings in the PC version, then that will drop to "medium" and then "low" in the future until the next console launches. The difference is that on a PC, you have to change those settings yourself. By the way, I'm in no way saying the Scorpio was bad or something like that, and I think at ~600-700 bucks it will about represent the performance of a ~600-700 bucks PC, and that's good. My sole point is that it won't represent the performance of a better PC.

I'm still gunning for the Switch. Over a month later and still sold out. Honestly, there is a limit to how much processing and memory is required for a great appearance. Just from what I've seen, the Scorpio is going ham on only that, but the Switch, while with much processing still makes games look fabulous.

lol, that's kinda unfair when you're including PS2 games in there. There are plenty of fantastic old xbox games, especially from the 360 era. If anything, that'd be more relevant, since many of them are backwards compatible today - unlike anything from PS2 or PS3. Plus, you have unreleased games on your list - Detroit isn't out, Days gone isn't out, Death Stranding won't be for (let's be honest) 3 years+. Anyway, you're entitled to your own personal list, but you're doing yourself a disservice with this list. If you're really an Xbox fan, I invite you to look through the back catalog. You're missing a lot of good stuff

As a previous xbox one gamer and a PC gamer with an i7 7700k and 1080ti, this doesn't excite me one bit lol, my PC is already future proofed for the next 5 years or more.

So amped for this.

I've always been solid PlayStation user, but watch OxBox for the entertainment value. This video has genuinely made me begin to consider making the switch.
