Project Pajero Mini - Part 1 - Introducing the Mini and starting the front bumper build

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The small truck builds never seem to stop here at Balmer's Workshop! This time I tackle front and rear bumpers for a Pajero Mini and look at producing some skid plates as well. Here's an opportunity to get to know this little vehicle from top to bottom while checking out some custom bumper fabrication and maybe picking up some DIY tips while you're at it!

Thanks very much! There's another Pajero Mini build coming up in the near future. I'll make a video if there's enough fresh material to warrant it.

Hi. Where did you get the roof rack from? Can you do a video on roof rack installation for this Pajero mini?

Thanks for your views and your interest in the build. These are custom, one-off bumpers so no Diagrams or dimensions are available. The video is the best guidance I can offer in this case...

Where did the roof rack come from? It looks aftermarket. No holes drilled through the roof?

Thanks for the comment! It's a Yakima rack. I'm unsure if it bolts through the roof or to existing roof rail studs. This is one of the few things I didn't install... If you'd like some close-up pics of the mounting points, I could send you some. Just contact me through my website if so: www.balmerfab.com

Would you happen to have (or know if your customer has) the original bumper? I just imported one and mine is dented.

I actually have the original bumper which is in good shape other than the slight damage at the mounting point (as noted in the video). If you'd like me to send you a pic to see if it will work for you, just contact me through my website: www.balmerfab.com. I also have another customer who has a spare stock front bumper which is in perfect shape - he may be willing to sell it...

Is it possible to make room for 3 people on rear seats ?

Thanks for your comment! I don't think 3 adults would fit in the back of one of these little beasts. This particular one now has a sliding drawer in the back instead of a seat.

There is no way three adults would fit. These are very small vehicles.
