This channel brings back a lot of good memories. Grew up in Germany, now calling Brisbane, Australia home and my first car was a 1974 1.6l Taunus. In case you don't know, in Germany the Cortina's were called Taunus for some reason. Loved the simplicity of these cars and ended up having 3 of them in the 80's. Found a bunch of other guys who also had Taunus cars and we ended up forming an unofficial Taunus club probably about 10 cars strong at the height of it. Meet just about every weekend, honing, burn outs etc etc. There were good times and I love seeing that car again through you channel...thanks for that...oh SUBBED of course

In other videos, you will hear Pete refer to the Cortina MkIII as the "TC", standing for "Taunus Cortina", reflecting Ford's decision to have common meduim-size car body in Europe/UK from 1970. Prior to that, the Taunus (Germany) and Cortina (UK) had been independently designed.

Nice work Pete it’s really starting to come together now , that bench seat is beautiful what a great piece 👌 I’m looking for an automatic mk3 in decent shape myself if anyone’s reading this 🙏

All your MK3's remind me of my 2.0 GXL I had for a while back in 1982. Evergreen with black vinyl roof and black cloth trim which I think was an optional extra. Loved that old car but a rust free bright red Lancia Beta coupe tempted me away from it. Wish I still had both of them but will have to settle for my 3 Capris!
