I have been doing Project 333 for several years. I usually do 1 month at a time and I don’t include accessories, shoes or handbags. It’s a great way to stimulate your creativity and shorten the decision time in the morning. It’s also a wonderful way to welcome back favorite items when you rotate them back into circulation. Thanks for your videos.

Ooo, I think I really love this concept, because I live in a place where each season is so different. Curious, how do you store your unused clothes? (I'm thinking I'll just put the not-using-right-now clothes in cardboard boxes in my closet somewhere)

@@massages_for_world_peace8909 I usually move the unused clothes to a different part of the closet so it’s obvious that they’re not in current rotation. If I have the space, I take them out of the closet and store them away.

I have about 30 pieces total, for all four seasons. Think it definitely depends on your appearance preference. I don't mind wearing the same shirt more than once a week. But some people are so used to wearing different outfits every day.

I've never purposely done the 333 challenge but over the last year (pre covid) I've travelled constantly for work a month or two at a time living out of a carry on. It was surprisingly nice! Having less options forced me to be more creative with my cloths but was so stress-free and time saving when getting ready everyday.

Hi , thanks for this video. I have a huge walk in closet full of outfits and accessories . During the Covid lockdown, I started spring cleaning and selling my clothes online. I started to feel I really don’t need as much and I truly want to be more sustainable in my fashion choices . I relearnt that limiting choices does not equate looking bad . In fact, it felt more liberating as I declutter. Your video affirms that and motivates me to continue decluttering, to live on less as a way to live more not less abundantly 🙏🏻

You have a few year-round pieces, but you can swap out summer for fall, fall for winter, winter for spring, and back to summer. I store the “off-season” pieces in another closet. I started a capsule wardrobe when I moved overseas for a couple years, and when I moved back home, I donated all the other clothes I had left at home. I was so satisfied with my capsule wardrobe that I really only wanted to replace worn out items instead of adding more items. By the way, for years I have vacationed with a 10 item wardrobe which can take me through a multiple week trip.

Your remarks were really useful, and I will try to put more attention into my selections. I didn't start a capsule wordrobe by choice, but I saw that I was coming back to the same few pieces this summer: basiscs, some shirts and pants that go well with everything. It's quite satisfying to have some pieces that you can create easily outfits with. ❤️

I've never really tried such a challenge but i find that i usually gravitate towards the same loved pieces and i keep rewearing those 🙂of course here we have four seasons too so i couldn't wear summer clothes in winter but as you said smaller groups of clothes for each season would be great!

TY. Yes. I am working to downsize. I have heard of it. I admire anyone who can downsize to that point year-round. I don't think I can ever get to that limited a wardrobe. As a northerner I’d suggest that people don’t include winter gear in their 333 challenge. They’re for safety, not for fashion, so they’re necessities. Plus a hat, scarf, gloves, boots and a parka suck up 5 of your 33 items! Haha

HI, First thank you for your videos :). I'm a shophoolic ;) and I wanted to try the 333....I found a stylist that made a video on this. She said that accessories, shoes, bathing suits, underwears, pyjamas, special events and workout clothes doesn't count. Then its 33 items per season depending on your country...So as me who live in Qc its 33 x 4. In Florida you don't need as much as we do in Canada witch make more sense to me and felt less restrictive . I picked up 66 items for autumn /winter and I will do the same for spring/summer. It really helps me and Im happy with the choices Ive made. :) Im not a minimalist and sometimes its seems the capsule and minimalism are mixed. I just wanted to stop buying ramdlm things and focus on buiding a much more organised wardrobe with items I love only.

@@byerinelizabeth Absolutely loving it! Have 35 items for my Summer/Spring wardrobe. Planning according to a colour palette also helps a lot... and is something I learned the hard way. I found it difficult to include my jewellery and 'bad weather' outer wear in the count. Initially I only had 2 pairs of earrings and 2 necklaces in my count, but getting dressed became so boring a task and I felt so dull. Decided to bring in some colourful jewellery pieces I loved, and.. problem solved! I think that the relentless rainy weather and cloudy days in Ireland was an influencing factor to my decision. I'm very excited to complete my Fall/winter capsule, and to see what you come up with! Loving your videos!

I also think, for Canada and similar climates, outdoor-only cold-weather essentials, like gloves, snow-boots, beanies, heavy wool scarves should be excluded from the 33 pieces. After all, you remove them indoors, they are really utilitarian. In my mild-climate California location, these are optional accessories for most places and activities, so I will include them. We wear them for style, not necessity.

I have done capsules when I travel but for real life they just do not work for me. I do so many different things that having just a few things is too limiting. For instance if we want to go out then I really like to have festive things, I love the outdoors so need very casual things I can move in. For the everyday stuff I do kinda have those things I rotate but for the rest of life it is too limiting. Oh and then there are the seasons............Summer I need stuff for the heat, Spring and Fall are inbetween and I need many more layers.............and then Winter..........I need things that really, really keep me warm. That said I do not have a million things and try to have versatile things. To me the most important thing is that if it is in my closet I have to love it and feel good wearing it.
