Your cabin is a dream. Love how it came into build. Ant the wood quilter, what an addition to the wall. I see he did more under the soon to come window wall as well. Yes, a set of Wonky star blocks, for play. I’m enjoying the cabin build very much and all the creativity you both have put into it. ❤

Oh Kate, what a lovely place you are creating. My own Mom, who taught me everything I know about gardening, preserving, sewing and quilting for the family is no longer able to teach us due to the horrible condition of dementia. I’ve been slowly losing her over the past 10 years and your videos are a breath of her in my ears and my heart. My daughter, who is getting married this summer on the farm, recently came to me and said, I just feel a signature quilt as the wedding registry would be a great tribute to NANA and that we sew it together afterwards. What a family heirloom that will be! I strive to create that sort of family heritage culture. Thank you so much for inspiring our family. Thank you for pouring yourself into what you love to do and sharing it all with us.

Hi Kate. I must say, I love this garden channel. This was amazing. This whole wooden quilt thing is so you. I love how Ant came up with this. Thanks, John, for the hair rub, can't do without one when you're around. 😂😂 I think this whole part of the garden looks stunning, and it will even be more so when everything comes back to life in Spring. What a cozy cabin! You even thought of a compost toilet, with a view no less! I love your "quilt" wall. I don't know how you come up with such cute ideas Kate. I noted when looking out the cabin door, you can see your house in the back ground. So, from your upstairs bedroom window you can look down upon your cabin. Are you aware that some forms of colour blindness can be corrected with specialised glasses? What a joy it would be to know that Ant could enjoy the colours of a sunset with you from your porch and for him to enjoy the colours of the flowers around the pond and in your garden, and what a great reward for all of Ant's hard work and kindness to you. Ant's cheerfulness and kindness shines through and is matched by your caring nature too.

I so look forward to your cabin progress videos. Sorry you weren't feeling well, but you still did a fabulous job with this one. You will so love the covered porch Ant created. Mono chromatics only see grey tones, my son has the same. The things we don't see as they focus on movements. My son sees better in the dark too. Different abilities 😉 It becomes lovely 🥰

Ant reminds me so much of my dear Grandfather, also a woodworker extraordinaire, who, like Ant, would fuss for hours over little projects like your wooden 'quilt', just to please my Gram - or whomever it was for. Lovely! I reminisced of when my husband and I built our home and he slid off the shed roof in the rain and landed on a pile of scrap wood. He had quilt pinwheel bruises on his leg…your idea was so much better. A wall will last and be beautiful for a very long time. My two best friends are both very skilled woodworkers--having built furniture and everything also to do with home renovations. They always comment that they "wouldn't have the patience for quilting" and I always tell them, "it is carpentry, but done with fabric". And here you are, proving my point! Great episode, and as much as I love seeing you and Ant jibing back and forth and having a grand time, the highlight is Eileen splashing about in her pond. Looking at the pallet wood, I was musing that Kate and Ant were building at 'patchwork cabin'. Then came wool insulation (wadding) to make it cosy, followed by the beautiful quilt blocks/parquetry wall and the subtle 'Log Cabin Blocks'. Just stunning. 🌟

Absolutely love the use of timber blocks. So creative and so beautiful.😊
