Welcome to The Last Homely GARDEN! #1
Welcome to The Last Homely .... GARDEN!
Many times people from TLHH channel ask me what I am doing in my garden. I have been thinking of launching this channel for a while now as I am so excited about the many projects I am doing in the garden this year.
I couldn't do any of the without the help from Adam and Arran and the team at Heritage Country Gardening who are not only the muscle in the garden, but have imagination and creativity as well.
This is a big garden with many problem areas, but together we are going to make some really interesting areas this year.
I hope you enjoy this new content. Anna and I will continue making the content you love over at The Last Homely House because MAKING is my real passion but I am interested in so many things and here is where I can share all my outdoor activities!
On Patreon, people enjoy my Monthly Diaries and Weekly Behind The Scenes vlogs plus all sorts of other content. Find out more here

I use music from Epidemic Sound, a subscription service with thousands of royalty free music tracks. Todays is called 'It's A Wonder'
and it really is! A garden is a wonderful thing!
Thank you for watching. Be my first subscriber to this brand new channel. And this is one time when clicking the notifications bell is really important because I will be posting now and then and not to a regular schedule.
I'll see you next time with Something Else!
Thank you!

Thank you for this episode. I am an old disabled woman gardening in a major Pacific Northwest US city. It is a struggle but the enthusiasm of others cheers me on. Growing food soothes the soul.

Kate thank you it’s lovely to see you in your sweet sanctuary🌸🌟I’ve subscribed with all the bells and whistles in attention. Although I very much not been able to do any gardening for the last couple of years, watching you fills me with joy. Thank you for your loving ways. You remind me of what is good and honorable in life. Keep your light shining! All is well🌸🌟
How many of us do just one thing!?! But I’m so grateful for more ‘Homely’ videos!
So excited that you were willing to do this, Kate. The birds singing in the background is wonderful. Well-rounded people we makers are. It is the garden's time right now that shines. Haha...I am nearly giddy seeing the garden again and Eileen. Again, thank you Kate. There is something special about surprise visits from a friend.

Lime green chaise? Fence sounds uncomfortable.
I so agrre and happy that I'm not alone in feeling like gardening is like warfare. I have deer, rabbits, a groundhog, or woodchuck, and then the slugs and other bugs. I think your hen run will make a great garden. All of that chicken manure will be great fertilizer. Hope to see how it grows. Love that your raised beds are so high, making it easy to work.
Hi Kate, can you reserve a seat for me in you beatiful garden, please. You look so rested and healthy, soaking up that sunshine. Looking forwards to more videos. Thanks Anne
Kate, I thoroughly enjoy listening to you whether it’s about quilting, gardening, baking, declutterring or whatever else. Love watching you interact with your family. Stay healthy.
Thank you for this new video and your new project. I live in the Pacific Northwest in Sequim, Washington. I lived in England until I was 19. Moved to Sequim in 2003. I love to garden but we have very dry weather in this area and watering gets very expensive. The weather fronts from the west and northwest are blocked by the Olympic Mountains. This area is called the Blue Hole because the skies above us can be blue when the surrounding areas are all grey from the clouds. I am learning to quilt and find your videos on this subject very helpful and informative. Last week I learned a bit about paper piecing and hope to master this. I find The Last Homey House and now, The Last Homey Garden, very relaxing. It is wonderful handling beautiful fabric and beautiful soil!!! My cat behaves like your cats - wants to be right in the middle of the action. Thanks for everything you do and for all your videos.
First channel ever that I have found that I want to actually be a patreon of, absolutely ADORE Kate and her magical world!!
I'm so happy to see this new channel Kate! The drone footage is just amazing! You're a huge inspiration.
It is lovely to think of your dad gardening and your mum quilting. Sweet memories for you. Garden is fabulous! Thank you, Kate.
This will be a lovely place to visit with you. The garden, the 🐝's, your soft and soothing instructions. You are amazing Miss Kate. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This has made my day! A Last Homely House Garden channel! I love your garden, it’s what I call wild and woolly! The drone shots really help us to see how everything works together. Thanks so much for sharing your garden with us. Looking forward to seeing more.

Kate, the drone work is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!
My brother in Wisconsin USA is 86 years young and still doing big gardens and gives most of the harvest to other people. 👍❤️
I had the privilege of growing up in a place where some families dedicated every square inch of their garden to growing food! These were often otherworldly places! My favorite spot was often the space under the grape vine! There was usually a grape vine! For your children to have grown up there and for Agnes to explore now, what joy!
💚Thank you so much for sharing your gardening experience with us 💚🙏
Just love hearing about your property and your gardens. Thanks for sharing! I also like to watch the birds, garden and quilt. Thanks for caring and sharing!

WOW.... what a beautiful place to live.! Thank you for sharing your lovely home and garden ❤. You have an amazingly large piece of property... it's huge! So glad you have help to maintain your garden and property. It's so lovely and peaceful ❤. I accidentally clicked on this video thinking I was going to your Last Homely House!😊

Yes, the Arne and Carlos video visit with Kate is what alerted me to the new garden channel. I wonder why she didnt mention it on the LLH channel? Im not a patron any longer, maybe she announced it there. But very happy to have found it and will be able to enjoy more Kate content.
I love this new channel Kate. It’s SO relaxing to watch you potting and just hear the soft conversation. I’m so glad you’re doing this. Thank you for always offering such perfect quiet times for all of us.
Thank you, Kate, for the lovely video of about your garden. During Covid I enjoyed the daily videos of your garden, bees, Eileen, the hens, walking around the reservoir, etc. They gave me peace in a turbulent time. I’m happy to see these things again and look forward to the new channel.
This is so very wonderful and cheery! Thank you all very much!
I’m #26 and delighted to be able to spend time in your gardens with you😊. The drone was a really good idea…gives us a great prospective of the area. I will vicariously enjoy gardening with you and your team while we watch the miracles happen. Thank you, Kate
I’m so glad to see that you’ve extended your lovely green sofa out to your beautiful wonderful garden.
Love your idea of this channel. I always loved when you took us with you to give Eileen a swim.
Kate you are like a very wise friend. Thanks for all you do and share with us. Love being on your lime green sofa❣️
So happy to see your new garden channel! I am a bird watcher and work for a bird conservation organization here in Virginia USA. I’m also a beekeeper and for many years taught children (over 15 K kids!) all about the honey bees and our native bees. I love gardening too! Such a kindred spirit! I’m a full time caregiver for my disabled husband (paralyzed) but I keep it all together with my hobbies- spinning, knitting and beekeeping and gardening. Loved your Live on the weekend!
I am glad you are returning to your original concept of your channel from 5 years ago. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Your gardening inspires me. I look forward to your garden bounty ❤❤❤❤❤ And, hello Eileen!
ABSOLUTELY love your quilting channel and this one will be as well. Such a BEAUTIFUL area. We all need to adapt for what we love to do, and keep doing. It's "living life" at a slower pace. But remaining safe and happy. Thank you for your future videos to come. We ALL NEED enjoyment and a bit of "soulful peace". ❤❤❤ from across the sea.
“Gardening is like warfare” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 … currently doing hand to paw combat with squirrels who are destroying pots of flower seedlings 🤣🇨🇦 … love this addition to the homely house family of channels. 😊💕
Delighted to tell you that this is my first visit to the last homely garden! Kate, you’re looking very well! Being in the garden must be health promoting!!!!!! Seeing you in it has cheered me up a bit!
Many thanks for inviting us into your garden Kate. I love my garden here in Brisbane in the sub tropics. I’ve created a forrest of native trees right in the back of where I live. I’ve watched them all grow from seedlings to mature trees. The She oak tree has recently dropped a large branch bringing down some branches from the wattle tree. I have a macadamia tree, native mulberry, Davidson plum among several others. I also have some veggies growing in an old bathtub as well as a nice little vegetable and strawberry patch. The veggies are covered to keep them safe from insects and gangs of marauding possums. I live in public housing and I’m also aware of marauding gangs of developers moving the ‘houso’s’ out to gentrify my old suburb. I’m enjoying my garden while I can. Much love to everyone on the garden bench. Jen 💐🙋🏻♀️
I grew up on a farm here in ontario, canada and my father also was an excellent gardener. My grandfather from ENgland was a professional gardener, so I like to think I am carrying on in some fashion in my seniorhood! What a pleasure to see you and your gardens too.Thank you for your ongoing inspiration.

This new channel of yours is so exciting! And it was fun to see Eileen again ( I’m sure I’m not the only one who sings the song every time you mention her🎶). Plus your garden is inspiring! I have one acre of land and have great plans for it, and your property inspires me! 😃
What is the saying? One is nearer God’s heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth 🌱 How lovely to share this new adventure with you. I can’t wait to see the flowers and vegetables grow. 🌻
Wonderful. As a Permaculturist I am loving you have a dedicated channel for your garden. I’m sitting here sewing my inch hexagons together while enjoying your new channel.
So excited for this channel of yours!! I’m such a fan of your other one. Such calming, inspirational, and enjoyable channels you have. Thank you so much!
My step-dad was a beekeeper. My favorite job was making the frames. We had a large pine tree in the backyard. It was lovely sitting out building with the tree.
I love your videos Kate. I am very new to The Last Homely House and I’m proud to be one of the first subscribers to TLHG! You are a great inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life. I live in Indiana, USA and I love England. You are such a pleasure to watch.
Thank you for sharing. Love watching TLHH. So I know I will enjoy watching TLHG. I guess the is the line Green garden sofa. I enjoy watching all the things you do Kate. Your garden is beautiful. Lots of love Karen xx
I so love watching you talk about gardening and trees and look forward to your chats. I don't have many people to talk to about gardening so listening to you makes me enjoy my garden even more. I too over plant my seeds because you never know when a visitor will show up for dinner. Love the overhead shots of the garden and this new channel.
Thank you Kate you are an inspiration to us all. You make me seriously think of planting more in my garden and appreciate it more. This channel will be a huge hit. We love you so much. Your stories in your videos are always so welcome and loved.
Thank you for letting us into this beautiful space💕
Thank you for this new channel. I am happy for you Kate!
Your garden is lovely. I'm sitting on the lime green garden bench listening to your birds. They sound so happy. We have an 8' fence around our vegetable garden as we have quite a few deer that come through our property. (4' was not tall enough.) I'm waiting for this year's fawns to arrive. It's so fun to watch when they play tag, running after each other, all around our trails and yard. Have a wonderful week Kate!
I am glad you are able to share your passion with all of us.
I haven’t got a garden but I love listening to you talking about your and seeing the changes at the last homely house😁 Thank you💕
Love this new channel! I can’t really garden much nowadays but watching you in your garden will bring me joy. My parents thought me how to garden and I spent many hours working with them in our big vegetable garden when I was growing up. These are my best memories from my childhood. Glad you can enjoy your gardening and got help to plant so many things!
Any time you pop on with a garden video will be a joy. So glad we will get to see what is going on outside. Looking forward to watching your garden grow!
CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉 I'm so happy you did this. I know your kids are a huge part of your social media now. This is a wonderful addition.

I love it! Love the drone! Love the pic of you and Eileen. Love the old pics of your dad. Love seeing the evolution of your relationship with the algorithm. Love the outside noises. Love having a virtual garden to plan and care for virtually along with your team. Thanks.
What an inspiration you are to all of us Kate! I just finished working in my garden here in New Hampshire USA, poured myself some blueberry lemonade because it is 78 degrees F., subscribed to and will thoroughly enjoy this new channel! I too am following the footsteps of my dad who loved to garden both vegetables and flowers. He passed last year at 95 years of age, but I will keep planting for him! My grandfather, his dad, was a bee keeper so I love when you show us your bees! I share this quote which is special to me “to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”. Gardening like quilting is good for our mental health, so now I will go sew hexies for more relaxation🪡🧵🐝 until next time, cheers😊

I am so excited for this new channel. I live on a small lot in a small town and have added raised beds in my front yard and have them planted along with many pots. I find myself with so much time now that my husband recently passed. Getting my hands in the dirt again at 73 has been therapeutic for sure. You were my inspiration to get back into gardening. I love this Garden channel. I love all things Gardening, flowers, vegetables, herbs, even tried trees from seeds. In Indiana where I lived in zone 5 everything would grow, the topsoil was gold. But now I live in the desert of Arizona where everything I learned in Indiana doesn't apply. So I'm getting my joy of gardening from your channel, so thank you.
The song birds are so lovely to listen to. Lucky you!!
Congratulations Kate! What a fantastic addition this channel is! Wishing you all the success ! Can’t wait to watch more! 🥰😊
Reserving my spot on the Lime Green Bath Seat 🙂 I live in town in a small house with a very small yard but still I grow lovely flowers and just one edible crop: tomatoes. I grow seedlings by simply squooshing one tomato and starting the seeds indoors. I always plant all the seeds, end up with about 70 seedlings - at least 4 times as many as I have room to plant outside! It always seems such a miracle to me that I get so much from doing so very little.
A beautiful channel. Inspiring and full of advice. Thank you Kate. I felt at peace watching and seeing the wonderful scenery where you live. I haven't got a garden, many years ago I turned my concrete car port into a container garden. It has a few trees in pots, containers full of flowers and hanging baskets. A small brick wall and wrought iron fencing surround it. It has won many awards in the local local "In Bloom" competition.
Thank you for this lovely video Kate. Listening to the birds with your softly spoken voice is so peaceful. I enjoyed it and am excited to watch what you have ahead for us! 🥰
I am so, so, so happy about this new channel! I love watching you in your garden and explaining what you are doing.... i can live vicariously thru you! I’m so glad that you have some help with garden! With a number of interests, it is hard to give each one the time to satisfy your wants and needs. You seem to manage all that. How grand!
So grateful to have found you on this channel. I love your garden. I’m glad you will be doing more videos with the garden. Sending a hug from Oregon.
Such a lovely, peaceful video...thank you Kate 🧡
Kate, love the new gardening channel. Incredible drone footage, which enables us to see the Last Homely House and its Garden. Looking forward to hearing and seeing all your gardening adventures.
Love your tea cosy. ❤ Miss Kate I have a solution for your deer problem. If your garden is fenced in, go inside the fence and string a rope up 4-6 feet from your fence around the inside of your garden. Deer do not have depth perception and will not jump your fence. Last year was the first time that we tried this and we did not have one deer get into our garden. We have small herds of deer and they eat everything we put in the ground, trees, flowers and shrubbery. I learned about this method from a homesteading family on KZread. Wishing you success.
What a wonderful surprise to see this new channel - absolutely brilliant Kate! So pleased for you and myself as an avid LHH fan!🎉 Where do you get the mental energy for all these different projects? That's the million dollar question!!! Lots of love from bonnie Scotland 🏴
This was so lovely I very nearly cried at the end of it and went right back to watch it again from the beginning. The end of the video coincided with finishing a row of hexagons in a quilt directly inspired by the one you made for Agnes. Thank you for the unending creativity you share!
