I've always mentioned how gap is in every lease no matter the brand to show how important it is when financing. Majority of my customers get Gap. Love this training

@bngr bngr not all gap insurance is created equal and cover the same percentage. if you go with your credit union, you're still buying gap insurance Like I said, majority of my customers get it. Thanks 😆

Check your provider’s GAP max coverage guideline. If you are purchasing 100k vehicle, good chance your total payment including finance charge or amount financed could be outside of coverage guidelines.

As a consumer who recently bought a new car and took the gap insurance as even with my down payment my interest put me upside down to the tune of about 4k retail probably 5-6k private seller. I would hate to get totalled and be on the hook for 6 k so I was HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY to take the GAP insurance offered by the very reputable dealership. I don't see this GAP deal at all a rip off in my circumstance, or some unnecessary dealership markup. It would be my suggestion to treat the subject of Gap insurance as doing the customer a favor if it actually benefits them, rather than some nonsense a salesman has to pitch. All I can say is I am with state farm and they have their own version of this GAP thing and I did not know about it at the time and in retrospect I would rather deal with just my insurance company rather than the dealership too who will know I am out of a car and be excited to sell me something I probably dont want.

I bought a car and put 20k down ....the sales man and F AND I manager said they would not sell me gap... I asked to buy it..wonder why they refused?

The LTV you financed was probably so low the bank wouldn’t allow it.
