Фильм және анимация

Countless reviews find their way on the Internet as students -- passioned or indifferent -- post their own thoughts on classes and teachers around the campus. Watch as UCLA professors read and react to some of student's anonymous comments.

Jake Bishop but if he chases people back into lecture that shows that he cares. I'm not gonna lie he seems like an asshole and I'm glad I'm not a soc major so I never have to take one of his classes, but I've never seen a professor chase a kid that left to come back to his class. I feel like he actually cares about his students, which isn't the most common thing at a public research institution like ucla

“Not cool, neither is grade inflation” Ok, so like- why didn’t you go into a field that’s more rigorous and has less grade inflation like chemistry or engineering? Sociology has always been graded easy and has been a hole for the mediocre majority.

@@jacob9673 well in my country those are the ones with the most grade inflation, since the exams are so hard the average is usually around 30, and you need at least 60 to past the class for undergrads. Plus whether a study is rigorous doesn’t depend on what field it lies in but the quality of the study itself. And if a chemistry or engineering student think sociology isn’t rigorous, I’d suggest them retake logic classes. A bit philosophy classes would help, too.

@Cool Breeze at a community college i'd agree with you in almost all cases, but at a university it's a bit more of a mixed bag. There's quite a few professors who go to universities because they get funding for their research projects and having to teach is just a requirement they need to fulfill. Not saying they are all like that but it isn't uncommon and I suspect that the bigger of a university you go to the more of those types there are.

this is hilarious! you can see where the reviews are truthful and not so much at the same time. I guess students will sometimes show little compassion to their teachers because, being human, teacher happen to do the same quite often, though they mean well most of the time. we all are bound to get tired and a little fed up with one another from time to time. that's why it is important to make a conscious decision to be kind regardless of how we feel, as much as we can. truth is, later in life, we always come to fully appreciate and be grateful to those teachers who did manage to be humane to us.

I disagree, that wouldn't make for entertaining content. If they make some snide comment or crack a joke at a critical review, there's a huge chance they'll come off as arrogant especially given the brevity of their responses. On the flip side If they don't joke around and take the criticism completely seriously, it won't be interesting.

As an engineering student who graduated with a high GPA, I must say most students who complain about professors blow it out of proportion and are probably too stupid to be in the field or too lazy. I have had had probably 3 profs that were truly awful professors and in those classes probably 1/2 the class drops or fail and these profs actually are 1-star profs. I have also had profs that students say are awful yet I think they are incredible and really know the topic and actually teach you how to think and give you the tools to solve the problems. I have had profs that students think are awful yet in reality, they are not great but getting an A is not really too bad with a bit extra effort than normal.

To the "b--tch who knows it", so, you don't care that your students feel they can't approach you? That's excellent leadership there.

@@kronus4915 maybe the ones you have met are like that, that too because people who take up majors like Socio, and studies can afford to. Ie, they're very rich and often stuck up by nature. The subject is beautiful and not a joke.

Consider that "Rate My Professor" is owned by MTV. It was a beta-test for the Facebook/ChiCom social credit score system that is intended to control every aspect of thought and behavior. The conventional university classroom will go down the memory hole as VR is further refined. Btw, I scored extraordinarily high on "Rate My Professor" because of my non-mainstream lectures and scholarship that placed the university at the heart of the military-industrial death complex.

"Neither is grade inflation" I hate profs who think they can take it upon themselves to fix this by grading their students unnecessarily harshly... There's nothing worse that sitting down in a class and hearing the classic "I don't know about other profs, but I don't give out A's"... Like, maybe my internship hinges on me keeping my GPA up, but sure, let's fight the evils of grade inflation instead...
